It's funny to me how everyone actually believes that CM Punk walking out on WWE is legit.
CM Punk is under a CONTRACT with WWE. If he's under contract, does he not have obligations and appearances and event dates to fulfill? It's not like he can just say "screw you" and sit at home without any consequences or without getting fired.
The whole thing is a work. He's still under contract. If him walking out was legit, he'd be facing consequences right now, such as getting fired. But he's not. Because it's all a work.
WWE is even keeping him from posting on Twitter. WWE and Punk are NOT apart.

He already canceled an appearance on Comedy Central and has been replaced at axcess and wizard world comic con, with refunds offered. No way WWE would throw away money for the sake of an angle. And he very we'll could face legal consequences if they decide to pursue that route. It's not a work, unfortunately.

Imagine WWE sued him.. that'd be hilarious. They'd look so petty. I almost want it to happen.

Can they sue him...probably....but why do they want a guy that's notorious for saying whats on his mind to be there with a mic in his hand even more pissed than usual?? your asking for it at that point.....

No one can force you to go to work.
You have the right to walk out of your job.z
It's not a work.

He's gone, get over it. He doesn't care about you or anybody else on this forum. No need to get bent out of shape over a thread that was not directed personally to attack you. Chill. There's always one person who takes offense to these threads that aren't directed at one person.

You can walk out on a contract look at the Johnathan Martin situation this year. He left the Dolphins but he was still under contract for the rest of the year, not released or fired or anything. Him being under contract isn't enough reason to prove its a work. Its definitely real.

Threads like this give me a migraine. I'll say this: if you believe it's a work, more power to you... but your wrong.

He's not under breach of contract unless he tries to go wrestle somewhere else so I doubt any lawsuit is going to come of it.

To still argue this after Monday is beyond ridiculous dude. You know how much money WWE has lost having to take him out of advertising and shows? And your argument is that he's under contract? So what? Austin was under contract when he walked out too.

Anyone that still believes it's a work after he wasn't at the Chicago Raw really need a head check.

The problem with your argument is that if CM Punk quit, WWE wouldn't release him because they want to keep his merchandising rights in house as long as they can and don't want him making money anywhere else. It's simple business.

There's always one person who takes offense to these threads that aren't directed at one person. I'm actually not upset or anything, but the same thread keeps being made at least twice a day. It's either a CM Punk or Daniel Bryan conspiracy thread. Lol All I'm saying is you could've responded to one of the other million threads about this instead of clogging up space in this section. I want to read something different for a change.... maybe someone can make a thread about Maryse and Summer Rae in lingerie or something.

If, and this is a big IF, Punk's contract had a set number of dates clause and if he has already fulfilled that clause then it really doesn't matter to him or the WWE if he just sits out the rest of his contract.
Punk sitting at home only hurts him. The WWE has moved forward with barely a mention of him since he left and they have already written him out of any major story lines they had going into WrestleMania. Meanwhile by having Punk sit out his contract it prevents him from being able to jump ship right away to either ROH (most likely) or TNA (probably not).
If Punk still has dates owning on his contract as it gets closer to expiring the WWE could 1. Take him to court over failure to fulfill his contractual obligations, which would more than likely mean that he would either owe them a tonne of cash back or end up having to work the dates required to fulfill that obligation.
2. They could simply let him walk and completely remove any promotional material associated to him on their website etc. and let bygones be bygones.
By the time CM Punk's contract is up he won't be as red hot as he could have been. Think about it, if Punk stayed and wrestled out his contract and showed up right away in TNA or ROH it would have been huge. Now if he does it he will look like every other disgruntled former WWE Talent looking for yet another pay day.
Hopefully he goes to ROH and we can get an amazing AJ Styles v CM Punk series of matches (plus a CM Punk card for the ROH Game), but if Punk never wrestles again I could really care less. He not only walked out on the WWE he also walked out on his fans, the same people who helped make him a large portion of the money he made in the WWE.
