The sad thing is that the WWE has so many talented midcarders yet they'll be wasted in this battle royal. In 1985 yes, this type of match would be exciting at a WM but not in 2014 when the roster is much larger. This just proves the WWE doesn't know how to push a midcard story or make any midcarders meaningful. I agree. However, at this point they have so many people without matches and a shortened window to build feuds, the only way they'd be able to get the majority of the roster on the card is with a battle royal or bring back MITB. Not excusing their inability to have more than three feuds happening at once, but it's the unfortunate reality. |

I was surprised by Big E being inserted into this match. It would be such an easy thing to build an IC Title match in a couple of weeks. I want to see Cesaro vs Swagger, so I guess that's the trade off for that level of feud but it's crazy to me that they can't get the IC Champion in a solid feud for Mania. I know that has really been the case for years, but it still blows my mind. I'm glad that seemingly avoids unification of the midcard titles, but why not give the title to one of Swagger or Cesaro now. Cesaro vs Swagger for the IC Title, and then Reigns vs Rollins vs Ambrose for the US Title are both excellent feuds that would translate into excellent title matches at Mania.
Anyway, this entire thing just feels like a Big Show match to me. I think Big Show sucks so... I do love that they found a way to get guys on the card though. So no complaints in that regard, because we are getting a number of singles matches that are going to eat up a decent amount of time and not leave a ton of time for much else. I think if they weren't going to bring back MITB that this was the next best option.

I would have loved to have seen this match made with each of the 30 participants representing a past wrestlemania.. they didn't have to be huge stars, but any of the past legends would work that can still go.. for example

In the way of matches that are thrown together to get people on the card (which, let's be honest, that's all it is)...
I like it more than an eight/ten/twelve tag match, and less than Money in the Bank. So, somehwere in the middle.
As for who wins, I'd like to think someone like Ziggler or Cesaro, but it will probably be Sheamus or Big Show.

Honestly, it would make the most sense for Big Show to win it. I mean, it would be cool if a young up and comer won, but it wouldn't really do much for their career to be honest.

They'll likely give it to Show, Sheamus, Reigns or Rusev. I hope WWE isn't dumb enough to put Reigns in the battle royal. |

It'll be a mix of the new guys and old guys for sure. If it's a 30-man Battle Royal, have 15 new guys and 15 old guys. Since I don't really watch these days, I can't name 15 new guys who should compete in this. However, as for 15 legends, the ones I would LOVE to see are:

Sheamus vs Christian isn't a good feud. It's filler BS that does nothing for either of them. Cesaro vs Swagger shouldn't really be breaking up at the same time as The Shield, but it is what it is. I'd have Kofi win it, but that's not gonna happen (maybe he'll get a good near-elimination spot or two though). Really, it's probably Rusev. I could see Sheamus, Cesaro or Big E winning, though. Christian and Sheamus is a terrible thing. I wouldn't even call it a feud considering Christian hasn't done a damn thing. This win would be wasted on the Big Show. I'm hoping someone new like Rusev wins it. I'm also hoping it ends up being a life size Andre trophy. |
