Smackdown time with Kevvy Kev. Bad News Barrett versus Christian was a fine way to start things off and it was an obvious win for BNB. Him versus Alberto Del Rio being confirmed for Summerslam is sweet, you've done a good job with the turn of Del Rio within just one week. ADR vs Batista and Orton in a handicap match tonight? Shee-it. A decent promo that did it's job between The Wyatt Family and The Shield, setting the stage for a huge and intriguing match for Monday. I fully anticipate The Shield to come out on top... although, I said I fully expected Reigns to win at Battleground, too... The Miz beating Kofi Kingston. Fine. I was more concerned with Summer Rae rubbing his chest! THE MIZ HAS A HOTTER WIFE, DAMN IT! THAT TRAMP! Paige beating Cameron was what it was, all setting up The Bella Twins attacking from behind... those bitches! I'm still thiking we'll get Paige and Trish versus them two, as I feel like a potential Paige/Stephanie match is being saved for Survivor Series or WM31. Poor Alberto Del Rio, being beaten by the team of Randy Orton and Batista. F*cking Authority tossing their weight around... it was a solid set up for an inevitable six man tag - presumably on Raw - between Batista/Orton/BNB vs ADR/Usos, which sounds fun. The Highlight Reel on Raw and DUSTY RHODES! DAS NOT HARD TIMES, DAS GOOD TIMES! Adrian Neville beating Rob Van Dam was good or him in a face versus face battle, a nice change of pace. Chris Jericho getting one over on Bo Dallas was nothing special; just a win for Jericho and a continuation of Bo and Show - which was fine. HA! BO AND SHOW! THAT RHYMES! Finally, a good main event win for CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler over Sheamus and Kane and the right guy ate the pin. Stupid Kane. Toothpaste. Not the most noteworthy episode of Smackdown for sure, but it did a good job of setting the stage for a big Raw upcoming, as well as Summerslam.

Just had a read of Smack Down and have to say while it was a basic show I found myself enjoying it. Nothing to spectacular but the wrestling would have been good you had a very strong Shield promo and stories were advanced well. You can't ask for much more than that. Also thought the little .com interview graphic and quick mic work from Punk was enough to sell HHH/Punk, that match feels like a big deal in fact I actually thought it was the SummerSlam Main Event but then seen your card graphics underneath.
Looking forward to Raw seems like we are on the verge of a Shield break up - something to keep an eye on.

Monday Night Raw: August 4th, 2014 – Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas
Before the weekly Raw video package, we see a recap of the personal rivalry between the Shield and the Wyatt Family. With Roman Reigns now a member of the Wyatts, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins put their freedom on the line tonight. If they can beat Erick Rowan and Luke Harper inside a fifteen foot high steel cage, Roman Reigns rejoins them in the Shield, but if they lose, they must also join Bray and his family! Michael Cole and John “Bradshaw” Layfield welcome the WWE Universe to tonight’s jam-packed episode of Monday night Raw. Before they can run down any of tonight’s festivities, the music of John Cena plays and he steps through the curtain. Cena is greeted with is usual mixed reaction as he charges the ring. Once he enters, he grabs a microphone and begins to address the WWE Universe. He begins by reminding everyone about what went down last week during the contract signing with Brock Lesnar and Daniel Bryan. He says that Brock Lesnar once again proved his dominance, just like he did at WrestleMania. “I’ve been asking myself, how do I beat the man that beat the unbeatable man? How can I or even Daniel Bryan for that matter, beat the man who beat the streak?” Cena says that he’s racked his brain and can only conclude that he must be something he isn’t. He must be the monster that Bray Wyatt brought out in him at some points earlier this year. “I don’t want to do it folks, but if I’m going to become a 15 time World Champion, I need to take drastic measures.” Before Cena can continue, he is interrupted by the recognizable voice of Paul Heyman. He walks out onto the stage and sarcastically claps for Cena. He “congratulates” him on figuring out that Brock Lesnar is unstoppable. “John, I saw the things you were pushed to do against Bray Wyatt and they were indeed brutal. But you need to understand something. Brock Lesnar is a different animal than anyone you’ve ever faced before. Brock Lesnar conquered the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania. Brock Lesnar nearly ended your career two years ago at Extreme Rules.” Heyman says that no matter where Cena or Bryan go or what they do, they will not stop Brock Lesnar. Cena again reminds Heyman that he actually defeated Brock at Extreme Rules, which makes Paul laugh. He says that Brock hasn’t forgotten that and will make Cena pay for it at SummerSlam. “I actually came out here for a different reason though. Besides addressing you, I wanted to let you know that the Authority has a match scheduled for you. Since you are going to be facing THE beast at SummerSlam, tonight you will face A beast. A beast from this very state. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, Mark Henry!” The crowd pops for Mark Henry, who appears in a University of Texas shirt as John Cena gets ready for the opening contest. JOHN CENA VS. MARK HENRY; This is not the first rodeo between these two guys, having met several times over the past few years. Commentary informs us that Daniel Bryan will also be facing a beast of sorts later tonight in preparation for SummerSlam. John Cena continually tries to hoist Mark Henry up, but has some trouble doing so. Henry pounds away on Cena’s back and goes for a big splash but Cena is able to roll away from it. He then is able to score with the Attitude Adjustment and picks up the win. John Cena defeats Mark Henry in 4:08!The WWE Universe comes to their feet with a very vocal mixed response as John Cena is declared the victor. He jumps up and raises his arms in the air, picking up a win over one of the most intimidating and imposing Superstars in WWE history. John Cena seems absolutely ready for Brock Lesnar, Daniel Bryan and SummerSlam!
Returning, the WWE gives a special thanks to Travie McCoy for supplying the theme song to this year’s SummerSlam, “Keep on Keeping on”!
We are now taken to a vignette for Daniel Bryan. It features footage of his rise to the top, while he talks over them. He speaks about SummerSlam, admitting that he’s never stepped into the ring with Brock Lesnar before. “When Brock left this business, I was just cutting my teeth. Now, our paths have a chance to cross and I am not going to back down. People doubt my ability against him because of our size difference and his legitimate fighting background. To that I say I don’t care. People doubted me against Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton at WrestleMania. They doubted me against Bray Wyatt at Money in the Bank and they doubted me against CM Punk last month. You know when else I was doubted? Last year at SummerSlam when I pinned John Cena 1-2-3 in the middle of that ring. I plan on doing the same to him or Brock this year.” BIG SHOW VS. BO DALLAS; Since making his return a few weeks ago, Big Show has gone after the annoying Bo Dallas. Tonight, he gets a real shot at him and Bo is clearly afraid. He does everything he can to avoid Show, but gets caught with some loud chops. Bo rolls outside to catch his breath, but Show follows. He charges Bo, who dodges and Show crashes into the steel steps. Bo slides inside as the referee counts to ten. Bo Dallas defeats Big Show via countout in 1:42!The fans boo loudly as Bo Dallas celebrates his victory in his typical overdramatic fashion. He runs around the ring but stops to grab a microphone. He says that he told everyone that he could beat the smallest and biggest that the WWE has to offer, because he Bolieves. The angry giant that is the Big Show gets to his feet and is furious. He enters the ring but Bo sees him on the Titantron and quickly runs out and up the ramp.
Cutting backstage, the Authority are in their office. Randy Orton tells Triple H that he, Kane and Sheamus are about to go out and destroy the Usos and Dolph Ziggler. Triple H smiles and says that’s what he likes to hear. “I know that Batista is off promoting Guardians of the Galaxy again and won’t be back until next Monday, but I believe in the three of you.” They head off, leaving Triple H with Stephanie McMahon. She questions him about the match with CM Punk which surprises him. “I thought you hated that twerp as much as I do.” Stephanie says that she does hate him, but she remembers WrestleMania. “Actually, I remember WrestleMania, Extreme Rules and Payback. No offense, but you weren’t a winner in any of those matches. I don’t want us to look bad as a family, when we’re supposed to be in control.” Triple H is taken aback by this and tells her that he needs to clear his head away from her. DOLPH ZIGGLER AND THE USOS VS. KANE, SHEAMUS AND RANDY ORTON; Outside of Kane subbing in for Batista, this is a pretty big preview of what’s to come at SummerSlam. As one expects, the team of Dolph Ziggler and the Usos start hot but eventually run into trouble following a cheap shot from Sheamus. This allows the Authority team to isolate Jey Uso with quick tags and cutting the ring in half. Throughout the match, Randy Orton yells at Jey and even at Jimmy on the apron about how they aren’t in his league. Jey manages to slap the taste of Orton’s mouth and make the hot tag to Dolph. He comes in, lighting everyone on fire with his offense. He scores some near falls before a really cool moment comes as he and the Usos triple superkick Kane out of the ring. Unfortunately, things go downhill after, when Sheamus Brogue Kicks Jimmy to end things. Kane, Sheamus and Randy Orton defeat Dolph Ziggler and the Usos in 13:42!Austin is full of disappointed fans as the Authority enjoys their win. Kane does his best to be happy but he did take three kicks to the face a few minutes ago. Sheamus certainly is looking strong heading into a major Intercontinental Title defense at SummerSlam. Dolph Ziggler and Jey Uso check on Jimmy as the winners head up the ramp.
Similar to the Daniel Bryan video that aired earlier, we now get one for John Cena. We see a bunch of footage of his long list of career accomplishments as he talks over them, saying that he’s nowhere done with his career. “Yea, I have a chance to win my 15th WWE Championship at SummerSlam, but that match is going to be about more. I thank Daniel Bryan for giving me the shot because this is about redemption. Last year, I gave Daniel a chance when nobody else would and he beat me. Fair and square in the middle of the ring. I’ve lived with that for a year now and it’s about time I get a chance to even the score. As for Brock Lesnar, yea I defeated him two years ago but if you watch that match, I did not look like a winner. He beat me from pillar to post and that is an image I want to overwrite with a shot of me standing over him at SummerSlam. One way or another, I will be the WWE Champion again.” AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT W/ TITUS O’NEIL VS. KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM; Last month, Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam were assaulted by Batista and Randy Orton. Since then, they’ve only teamed sparingly, but tonight look to get back into the ranks against the tandem of Xavier Woods and Damien Sandow. Sandow and Woods play the smart game, using their brains to lead their offense. However, Titus O’Neil miscues a trip at ringside and catches Sandow by mistake. Sandow questions him but turns into Trouble in Paradise for the three. Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam defeat the Age of Enlightenment in 3:00!The team of Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam have their hands raised in victory and leave the ring. Xavier Woods and Damien Sandow are not pleased with Titus O’Neil. Woods gets in his face, but Sandow gets in between, breaking things up. He then turns and seems to scold Titus as well before all three men exit.
Returning from commercial, Cody Rhodes makes his way out to the ring, with a serious look on his face, which has been the case for the past few weeks. He is in a suit and he reminds everyone of what happened at Battleground, before turning his attention to what he said on Smackdown. “I would like for you all to welcome my father, Hall of Famer, Dusty Rhodes.” The fans pop in unison for the arrival of Dusty, who waves to them but also seems to be in a somber mood. He enters the ring, hugs his son and grabs a microphone. He starts by saying that the past few weeks have been very troublesome for his family. He calls out Goldust, but gets no response. Dusty then shouts and demands for Goldust to join them, which he finally does. When he enters the ring, Dusty speaks right to his face, saying that things were going so well. “Last year at Battleground, the three of us stood side by side together as you got your jobs back. I have never been prouder in my entire life. Then, I watched from my seat at home as you two formed a team and won the Tag Team Championships. It was a damn beautiful thing. What the hell happened?” Goldust looks up at him, points to Cody and says “ask him.” Dusty and Cody are both surprised, but Dusty keeps Cody back, saying he’ll handle it. He asks Goldust what he means by that. “I know you guys had hit a rough patch, but you could have worked through it. You’re family and what has happened has torn us apart.” Goldust replies by telling Dusty to place the blame on Cody for going off on his own and trying to leave him in the dust. Cody’s face falls as he realizes what his brother has been feeling. He walks towards him only to be struck with a big right hand. Dusty gets in between them and Goldust shoves him to the mat as well! Cody immediately goes to check on his dad, while Goldust just leaves as the fans boo. ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. THE MIZ W/ SUMMER RAE; The Miz has been one of the Superstars mentioning that he wants to win some gold soon. Alberto Del Rio on the other hand, has taken action in his quest for a title, earning a United States Championship at SummerSlam. His opponent for that night, Bad News Barrett, is on commentary badmouthing him. Miz does pretty well for himself, but ducks hard for cover when Del Rio does after his face. Protecting the “money maker” proves to be his downfall as Del Rio rolls him up for two, but goes right into the Cross Armbreaker. Miz tries to reach the ropes but ends up having to tap out. Alberto Del Rio defeats The Miz in 5:16!As Summer Rae lets out a scream of disappointment, Alberto Del Rio has his arm raised and he stares directly at Bad News Barrett. Barrett simply raises his United States Title in the air in one arm while hoisting up his Money in the Bank briefcase with the other. These two are ready to clash at SummerSlam.
Returning, Jerry Lawler stands up from his seat at commentary with a microphone to make an announcement. “Next week, Monday night Raw will take place on August 11th. That just so happens to be the birthday of WWE Hall of Famer and WrestleMania XXX host, Hulk Hogan!” The crowd cheers at the mention of Hulk’s name before popping harder when Jerry announces that next week, Hulk will be at Raw for a birthday celebration!
We go to a recap of last week when the Bella Twins jumped WWE Women’s Champion Paige. Paige was then saved by WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. Trish then got on the microphone and backed Paige’s decision to bring back the Women’s Title, which upset the Bella Twins. Tom Phillips is now standing by with the Women’s Champion herself, Paige. He asks for her thoughts on Trish Stratus supporting her and the attack the Bellas laid on her this past Friday on Smackdown. Paige responds by saying that first, she is proud to have Trish support her because she’s one of the women that she looked up to. “As for the Bellas, I feel like this is going to keep happening. They have an advantage being up two on one, especially when they attack from behind. So, this Friday on Smackdown, I am set to take on Brie Bella. To make sure that Nikki minds her business, I’ve given Trish Stratus a call and she will be in my corner!” The crowd cheers knowing that Trish will be on Smackdown this week! NON-TITLE MATCH: DANIEL BRYAN VS. RYBACK W/ CURTIS AXEL; Daniel Bryan comes out for his match against a “beast” and it is revealed to be Ryback. This proves to be a tough match for the WWE Champion because Ryback is still an imposing force despite recent losses. He throws Bryan around, showing that this could be exactly the case come SummerSlam. Bryan continues to show that he is a resilient champion though. He fights back with a string of kicks that send the “Big Guy” reeling. Bryan finishes off the flurry with the Busaiku Knee for the win. Daniel Bryan defeats Ryback in 5:49!Daniel Bryan gets to his feet with the crowd behind him. Curtis Axel helps Ryback out of the ring while Bryan is handed his titles. The fans shout “Yes” along with him as he definitely looks ready for Brock Lesnar and John Cena at SummerSlam. We are reminded that we will have a special word with Brock Lesnar later tonight.
The Wyatt signature hits as Bray Wyatt appears on screen in a dark room, with Erick Rowan, Luke Harper and Roman Reigns flanking him. He talks into the camera saying that tonight is the night. “Tonight, we add to the ranks of my family. Roman here is a project. A project that I am molding. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, you will not interfere with that!” He continues by saying that the former Shield doesn’t approve of what he’s done with Roman Reigns. “At first, I desperately wanted you to understand that I am helping him. But then I realized that it doesn’t matter. Your views are insignificant. You see, a lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinions of sheep. Tonight, you two join us and become lions.”
NON-TITLE MATCH: BAD NEWS BARRETT VS. CM PUNK; It was Bad News Barrett who was the first to attack CM Punk during his match with Alberto Del Rio last week. Punk attacks quickly, firing away in the corner with a series of strikes, causing Barrett to back out and regroup outside. The aggressive Punk gives him no time to breathe though, coming at him with a suicide dive. The two men trade blows outside for a bit and nearly get counted out, before Punk rolls Barrett inside. He grabs a steel chair and, despite the referee’s best efforts, whacks Barrett in the back, causing the DQ. Bad News Barrett defeats CM Punk via disqualification in 4:09!The bell rings but CM Punk doesn’t stop, wailing on Bad News Barrett with a few more steel chair shots. The music of the COO hits as Triple H comes out, taking his blazer off, looking to do something about this assault. He gets ready to enter, with Punk daring him to do so. Barrett rolls outside as Triple H gets on the apron, but he backs off deciding not to fight. The fans boo loudly as Triple H helps Barrett and says wait until SummerSlam. Punk doesn’t want to wait, exiting the ring and coming after them. Triple H has security step in between them to hold the furious CM Punk back. ADRIAN NEVILLE VS. FANDANGO W/ LAYLA; During his entrance, we see an insert promo from Fandango, where he says that he is sick of losing and is throwing his name into the mix of Superstars vying for some gold. As the match begins, he actually gets in some offense and looks to quickly win with his top rope leg drop. Unfortunately for him, he misses and Adrian Neville goes into a flurry. He climbs to the top and puts away Fandango with the Red Arrow. Adrian Neville defeats Fandango in 2:21!Adrian Neville leaps to his feet and points to the sky before being handed his NXT Championship. He raises it high in the air, continuing his hot streak since debuting on the main roster. Layla enters the ring to check on Fandango, who continues to struggle.
Renee Young is now standing by with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Seth is ready to talk but Dean is leaning on the wall, fuming. She asks Seth about their mindset heading into the Steel Cage match tonight. Dean jumps in before Seth can speak and asks how she thinks their mindset is. “Have you seen me these past few weeks? There is no way that we can lose tonight. I will not be a pawn in Bray Wyatt’s sick game.” Dean tails off, walking off screen in anger. Seth takes a calmer approach saying that they know how important tonight is. “Tonight is about bringing the Shield back together and finishing the Wyatt Family.”
The ring is now set up for the Highlight Reel and the fans come to their feet for the arrival of Chris Jericho. He makes his way to the ring while commentary reminds us of the attack he suffered last week on Raw. When Jericho starts to speak, he welcomes everyone to the Highlight Reel and directs the viewers to the Titantron, where we see footage of Alexander Rusev’s attack last week. Jericho says that he thinks he knows why that happened, but he wants to bring out Rusev to hear it from him. Lana and Alexander Rusev oblige and walk out to the ring to enormous boos. Lana has the microphone first, telling Jericho that he’s lucky they showed up. “You do not summon Rusev. He is not some commoner. You request his presence. The only reason we are out here now is to tell you exactly what happened last week and what will happen going forward. Alexander Rusev is here to be the greatest Superstar in WWE history. He showed that when he defeated Big Show at Extreme Rules, he showed it when he took down Jack Swagger’s America and he showed it when he ran through every single person who dared take the Rusev Invitational.” Jericho comments that Rusev is also $5000 poorer because he couldn’t beat Adrian Neville in five minutes. Lana isn’t amused. She says that in order for Rusev to be the greatest of all-time, he needs to show his dominance against the past, present and future. She brings up Jim Duggan, who Rusev destroyed a while back and says that he was the past, just like Jericho. “You are a legend Chris, but legends have an expiration date. Rusev is going to crush you to prove his dominance.” Jericho is serious as he tells Lana, “listen sister, I’m standing right here. That makes me the present and if you want to try and ‘crush’ me, give it your best shot.” Rusev steps forward but Lana stops him, telling Jericho that attacking him doesn’t mean as much as beating him in a match. Jericho puts his hand up to her face, telling her not to talk. “I’m talking to you right now Rusev. People have come and gone and tried to use me as a stepping stone junior. It won’t work. You want a match with me? Face me at SummerSlam. I want you to accept, not your puppeteer.” Rusev takes the microphone from Lana and accepts before stepping back and delivering a big time superkick to Jericho. Rusev stands over Jericho, who is holding his jaw, and poses next to Lana. EMMA VS. NIKKI BELLA W/ BRIE BELLA; The Bella Twins are not happy with the announcement that Trish Stratus will be back on Smackdown. Nikki seems hellbent on taking out her frustrations on Emma. She pounds away on her in the corner, but Emma comes back with the Dil-EMMA. She follows with her trademark Emma mite Sandwich and seems ready for her finisher but Brie gets on the apron. Emma charges and knocks her off. This does give Nikki the quick break that she needs though, because she scores with the Rack Attack and the three count. Nikki Bella defeats Emma in 3:48!As the bell rings, Brie Bella holds her jaw and slides in to stand side by side with her victorious sister. Nikki Bella raises her arms and looks into the camera, saying “bring it Trish”. She’ll be at ringside when Paige faces Brie on Friday.
A vignette now airs to hype Brock Lesnar, similar to what we saw for John Cena and Daniel Bryan earlier. This is interesting because as the footage of his long list of career highlights is shown, we actually hear from Brock rather than Paul Heyman. “I’m an ass kicker. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. People were shocked when I beat the Undertaker at WrestleMania. Why? Look at me. Why wouldn’t I beat the Undertaker? There is nothing mythical about Brock Lesnar.” Brock states that he nearly ended the career of John Cena in 2012 and he plans on finishing the job at SummerSlam. “As for Daniel Bryan? Please. I will break that little twerp in half. Understand this people. I’m going into SummerSlam. I’m gonna kick John Cena’s ass. I’m gonna kick Daniel Bryan’s ass. I’m gonna walk out as the WWE Champion.” Brock ends the promo by saying that children shouldn’t watch this match. “Your heroes will get beaten. It’s gonna get ugly people.” STEEL CAGE MATCH: DEAN AMBROSE AND SETH ROLLINS VS. ERICK ROWAN AND LUKE HARPER W/ BRAY WYATT AND ROMAN REIGNS; Once Erick Rowan and Luke Harper enter the confines of the cage, Dean Ambrose charges and attacks, showing that he truly is unstable. Seth Rollins tries to do the same, but is laid out by Harper. This is an all-out chaotic brawl with no tagging and just four guys going to war. The camera is sure to catch Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns at ringside, as Bray is calm but Roman goes through a ton of different emotions. Inside, the Wyatts are in firm control and Reigns looks defeated. Bray gets up and demands that Roman watch as this all comes to an end. Rowan holds up Rollins for a lariat, but he ducks and Harper takes out his partner. Bray starts to lose his cool a bit now and even more when Dean and Seth both hit signature moves on Harper. Bray shouts for Roman to enter the cage but he refuses. The crowd pops when he tells Bray no. Bray is in disbelief and decides to take matters into his own hands. He strikes the referee and steals the key to the cage door. He goes to open it but Reigns slams it shut, preventing him from getting inside, drawing another loud roar of cheers from the WWE Universe. Dean plants Rowan with Dirty Deeds to end the match. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeat Erick Rowan and Luke Harper in 14:17!The WWE Universe explodes as Roman Reigns is now officially free of the Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt yells at him to stay, but Reigns lays him out with the Superman punch! He enters the ring with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins and they pause, staring across at each other. Reigns extends his fist out, which Ambrose and Rollins do as well, signaling their official reunion. Dean seems to have an idea as the Shield move Harper and Rowan’s bodies and throw them out of the cage. Reigns then grabs Bray and brings him in the cage, locking it behind him. “Oh man, Bray Wyatt is about to get what’s coming to him” says Michael Cole. When Bray stirs and gets to his feet, he realizes that he is surrounded by the Shield. Bray stands his ground, shouting “DO WHAT YOU MUST! I AM THE EATER OF WORLDS! YOU WILL NEVER STOP ME!” He goes to continue but Roman Reigns wipes him out with a massive spear. The Shield then call for it and deliver the Triple Powerbomb to the crowd’s liking. The reunited Shield put their fists together over Bray Wyatt as the show fades to black.

WWE NXT: August 7th, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
Opening things tonight, we go straight to the weekly NXT opening video. Cutting to pumped crowd at Full Sail University, Rich Brennan, Jason Albert and Alex Riley welcome everyone to the broadcast. They promise a jam packed show and suddenly, the theme music of John “Bradshaw” Layfield hits. He steps out onto the stage to a chorus of cheers from the fans. He thanks them and says that he has two announcements to make. “First, I will be stepping down as the General Manager of NXT.” The crowd boos but JBL promises that he will find a suitable replacement over the next few weeks. “It has been a fun ride and I love it here, but it’s a lot for me to juggle right now and I can’t give NXT my best effort so I want to find someone who can because you all deserve it. Now, my second announcement is the one I’m most excited about. On Thursday night September 11th, NXT will be taking over the WWE Network once again. Our evolution will be seen across the world and you can all witness it for just $9.99!” The crowd cheers loudly at this major announcement. CURT HAWKINS VS. KALISTO; Curt Hawkins has gone on record in saying that he has shown up on NXT to turn his career around. So far, he has had mixed results. Kalisto is one of the most exciting and popular stars with the Full Sail fans. Hawkins wisely does what many try and that’s to ground Kalisto. The high flying masked Superstar comes back with a springboard corkscrew attack that livens the crowd. Suddenly, Tyler Breeze begins to stroll to ringside, looking at himself in his phone. Kalisto gets distracted for a moment, and Hawkins pounces, but he is able to dodge. Kalisto then hits Salida Del Sol and gets the win. Kalisto defeats Curt Hawkins in 6:29!“LU-CHA” is chanted by the fans in celebration of Kalisto’s victory. Tyler Breeze continues to walk around the ring, not tearing his eyes away from his phone. Kalisto looks on as Breeze finally turns towards him, seemingly just realizing him, and gives a very disgusted look before turning and walking off.
Going backstage, Renee Young is standing by with Tyson Kidd. She asks him about his feelings towards the upcoming debut of Hideo Itami. Tyson gives a disappointed look and says that he thought Renee, being a fellow Canadian, was better than that. “I won last week. Fact. I pinned a former World Tag Team Champion. Fact. I was in the main event. Fact. Yet was I allowed to celebrate? No. I had to watch a video for some overrated chump from Japan. Now, I have to sit here and listen to you ask me questions about him. Where are my questions about my win? Why don’t you ask about my cats? Or about my future here?” Tyson storms off, clearly upset at the lack of respect.
Coming right out of that interview, we go to the Hideo Itami vignette again. It once again ends with “Coming Soon to NXT.” CJ PARKER VS. EVAN BOURNE; It is clear that there are problems between Evan Bourne and Solomon Crowe after the events of two weeks ago but it would be unwise for Bourne to take CJ Parker lightly. Parker actually seems to really hurt Bourne with a massive palm strike. He uses that to take control for a bit, but Bourne seems on a mission, rallying back with kicks. He goes up top but the arena lights begin to get hacked again. Bourne doesn’t allow it to affect him this time though and hits the AirBourne to earn the victory. Evan Bourne defeats CJ Parker in 4:29!Much like two weeks ago, the hacking into the arena stops, but Evan Bourne stares up at the entrance. He motions with his hands for Solomon Crowe to come out but we get no answer from NXT’s resident “hacker.” Bourne is pissed as he heads to the back.
We go backstage to Renee Young again, who is standing by with Sasha Banks. She asks for her thoughts on Charlotte retaining her NXT Women’s Championship against the former leader of the BFFs, Summer Rae. Sasha scoffs at Renee and tells her that Summer Rae was never the leader. “She sure acted like that was the case, but I was always the boss. As far as Charlotte goes, good for her. All she did was prove that she can beat Summer. She did nothing to show that she was the baddest Beautiful Fierce Female in NXT. She has to beat me to show that. And just to prove it to everyone else here, I challenge Summer Rae to a match next week. You will all see just why I’m the boss.”
An ad runs to promote the WWE Shop, set to “Jungle” by Jamie N Commons. Various Superstars, Divas and fans are shown wearing official WWE merchandise. ALEXA BLISS VS. BECKY LYNCH; Two of the newer Divas in NXT go at it here. Over the past few weeks, there have been vignettes airing to give the viewers more insight into these girls. They shake hands at the bell, both being respectful of the other. Commentary is sure to note that while Becky Lynch is new to NXT, she has been competing for a long time, while Alexa Bliss is still new to the business. Bliss using her fiery personality to come close a few times but Becky outsmarts her and gets into position, applying an armbar submission that Jason Albert calls the “Dis-Arm-Her.” Alexa taps out, allowing Becky to score a win. Becky Lynch defeats Alexa Bliss in 5:12!Becky Lynch has her arm raised in victory as the fans in Full Sail give her a nice hand. Alexa Bliss holds her arm, but Becky helps her to her feet and hugs her. A great show of respect from two girls that could be big parts of the future of NXT.
John “Bradshaw” Layfield is in his office when Adrian Neville barges in, holding the NXT Championship on his shoulder. Neville says tells JBL that he knows he’s leaving as General Manager, but before he goes, he wants one thing. “Give me Corey Graves. I don’t care if it’s tonight, next week or whenever, give me him. I’ll put this title on the line if I have to dammit.” JBL tells him to calm down and says that he actually has already decided that Neville will face Graves at NXT TakeOver: R-Evolution. Neville seems happy with this news and leaves, saying that Graves is going to regret ever attacking him.
We now cut to a pre-taped video of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady outdoors. It seems to be shot from Big Cass’ cellphone. Enzo introduces themselves and says that they are making this video to chronicle their trip back home to Queens. “Big Cass and I, we been struggling a lil’ bit and that don’t fly where we come from. So now we back here to get some home cooking to get our heads on straight.” We see various thrown together clips of Enzo and Cass enjoying the city, eating hot dogs (Enzo’s falls on the floor, causing Cass to laugh), meeting up with old friends and things like that. Finally, Enzo reaches a door, saying that they are about to go in and see his mother, for some official home cooking. The video ends there, with a “to be continued…” message. The Ascension make their way out to the ring for their NXT Tag Team Title defense. They pose menacingly once they enter and await their opponents. Sami Zayn’s music hits to the usual thunderous ovation from the NXT Universe. He has a microphone and says that he knows he’s failed in recent weeks. “Oliver Grey. Sin Cara. They’re both great guys and great athletes, but something didn’t click. We didn’t work as the well-oiled machine that we needed to. I had to find someone that gelled with me. I needed time. However, when you two offered up a Tag Team Title shot tonight, I couldn’t resist and I had to go to JBL with something I never thought I’d have to. I had to go and talk to him about getting a contract for my closest friend in the world. A man that I’ve teamed with for years before coming to NXT. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce my partner and best friend, Kevin Owens!” The crowd loses their collective minds as Kevin Owens, formerly known as Kevin Steen, steps out onto the stage and stands side by side with Sami Zayn! NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS – THE ASCENSION (C) VS. KEVIN OWENS AND SAMI ZAYN; As much as the Ascension try, it was nearly impossible to shake off the announcement of Kevin Owens. Not only were they unable to scout or prepare for Owens, but the crowd’s intensity is something they did not expect either. Owens starts the match and busts out some very impressive offensive maneuvers that get the crowd even louder and send the Ascension reeling. They have been the longest reigning champions for a reason though, and they manage to weather the storm and start working over Sami Zayn, cutting the ring in half. Zayn does his own weathering of the storm and makes the hot tag to Owens, who cleans house. His flurry of offense leads to him going for a pin but having Konnor break it up. Zayn runs in and takes out Konnor with the Helluva Kick! Owens then sends Viktor off the ropes and nails a massive popup powerbomb for the 1-2-3. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn defeat The Ascension to win the NXT Tag Team Championships in 9:16!The NXT Universe explodes as the referee hands the NXT Tag Team Titles to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Owens hoists his high in the air, while Zayn stares at it for a few seconds, in disbelief that he’s finally won some gold here in NXT. Owens comes over and gives him a hug before the two celebrate with the hot crowd in Full Sail University. “A new era has begun in NXT!” exclaims Rich Brennan.

Trish Stratus Returns on Smackdown!A few weeks ago on Monday night Raw, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus returned to the company to be the special guest host. She made an impact instantly, barring Triple H from the arena and scheduling Sheamus to defend his Intercontinental Title against Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam, while also overseeing the WWE Championship contract signing. Her biggest impact however, may have come when she came to the aid of WWE Women's Champion Paige when the Bella Twins assaulted her. Now, Trish returns to Smackdown for the first time in years, to corner Paige when she faces Brie Bella. What will happen when these four women are in the same place at the same time? Will Trish get physical once again?

Friday Night Smackdown: August 8th, 2014 – Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas This week’s Smackdown kicks off with the weekly intro video featuring the Superstars and Diva of the WWE. We then go down to Michael Cole and John “Bradshaw” Layfield, who welcome everyone at home to tonight’s episode, just nine days away from the biggest party of the summer! The crowd erupts as our first guests of the night arrive.“Sierra. Hotel. India. Echo. Lima. Delta. Shield” is heard as the Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns all make their way to the ring through the crowd to a massive ovation from the WWE Universe in Laredo, Texas. It’s the first time the three have come out together since Reigns was forced to join the Wyatt Family after Battleground. Once they make it to the ring, Rollins grabs a microphone and speaks first. He says that what everyone is looking at is the way things are supposed to be. “We are the most dominant group of Superstars in the history of the WWE and things haven’t felt right in a few weeks without Roman Reigns by our side.” The camera catches Reigns smirking as Dean Ambrose takes over on the microphone. “I don’t know about Seth here, but I was handling myself pretty well during this time, keeping my cool.” He looks back at Seth and Roman, who can’t contain their smiles since Dean was the furthest thing from calm over this time. He hypes the Shield being back together before handing the stick over to Roman, as the fans cheer. Reigns says that he wouldn’t wish spending time as part of the Wyatt Family on anyone. “That was the weirdest few weeks of my life. Having to dress like Bray tells me, go where Bray tells me to, and do what Bray says to do. It was miserable. I don’t have to think about that anymore though. We are here to focus on the future and we want what we originally asked for. We’ve beaten everyone, except the Wyatt Family. So Bray, what do you say? Let’s do this right here, right now!” The fans erupt, wanting to see a fight. Thesignature strikes and the Wyatt Family appear on the stage, Bray in his rocking chair. He doesn’t have a smile on his face at all, seeming very serious. When he speaks, he directs what he says to Roman Reigns. “You were special Roman. You were different. You were the one that I could save, the one that I could mold, the one that could have been the greatest. Instead, you run back to where you plateaued with your fellow dogs. Did I not tell you last week that I was a lion among sheep? You could have been a lion Roman Reigns. You could have been so special.” Reigns cuts him off, and asks him for the damn match. Bray accepts but not for tonight. “You do not dictate what we do. I dictate what all of us do. We will fight you, but we’ll do it at SummerSlam. You’ve proven yourself to be disloyal, so in exchange, I don’t want any of you to join the family. Just face us, no holds barred.” The fans pop and the Shield quickly accept, but Reigns wants more, saying that he didn’t spend the last few weeks with them without wanting some individual revenge and he challenges one of them to face him right now. Luke Harper removes his vest and steps forward. LUKE HARPER W/ THE WYATT FAMILY VS. ROMAN REIGNS W/ THE SHIELD; Following a commercial break, this match is joined in progress, with the two men just clobbering each other. Luke Harper is his usual stiff self, laying into Roman Reigns with a fierce intensity. Reigns fires back, still showing some of the aggressiveness that Bray Wyatt instilled in him over the past few weeks. Harper gets a very close near fall following a discus lariat. Reigns takes down Harper and looks over at Bray before setting up for the Superman punch, which Bray didn’t allow him to do the past few weeks. Reigns connects on it and sets for the Spear, but Erick Rowan rushes in and takes him down, causing the official to call for the DQ. Roman Reigns defeats Luke Harper via disqualification in 8:28!Before Erick Rowan can do major damage, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins slide into the ring and begin to wail on him. While they work him over, Bray Wyatt slithers into the ring, waiting behind Roman Reigns, who slowly gets to his feet. Bray does his crab walk like move before turning over and planting Reigns with Sister Abigail! Ambrose and Rollins turn around to see Bray exiting the ring. Harper and Rowan also leave to join him before the Wyatt signature hits and they disappear.
We go backstage to Renee Young, who is standing by with the number one contender for the WWE United States Championship, Alberto Del Rio. She asks him for his thoughts on his match tonight, which is against Randy Orton. Del Rio says that he is no stranger to Randy Orton. “We’ve wrestled many times, he’s beaten me and I’ve beaten him. So if you think for one second that I will look past him, you’re wrong. The Authority tried to use me as their hired gun and thought I would assist them for free. I didn’t appreciate that. Tonight, it’s Randy Orton and I’m sure it will be someone else on Raw, but what matters in the end, is that at SummerSlam, I’m taking the US Title from Bad News Barrett. But you Renee…you already knew that.” Michael Cole now directs us to a special video package promoting the upcoming WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam. Daniel Bryan faces his toughest challenge yet as champion, when he meets the 14 time World Champion, John Cena and the man who ended the Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak earlier this year, Brock Lesnar. Clips air from the contract signing a few weeks ago, intercut with their promos from this past Monday’s videos on each Superstar.
AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT W/ TITUS O’NEIL VS. LOS MATADORES W/ EL TORITO; The outside presence of the small El Torito is quickly taken out when he gets on the apron to high five Diego, only for Titus O’Neil to bring him down with force. That takes Los Matadores out of their game, as they are worried about their bull. This leads to Fernando eating the You’re Welcome from Damien Sandow to end this. The Age of Enlightenment defeats Los Matadores in 2:01!Titus O’Neil quickly enters the ring to celebrate with Damien Sandow and Xavier Woods. However, similar to this past Monday, Woods and Sandow seem to celebrate on their own and ignore Titus and his barking. This strange development continues as Woods and Sandow leave, though Sandow does hold the ropes open for the confused Titus O’Neil. We now go to a video package that hypes the upcoming bout between CM Punk and Triple H at SummerSlam. The video package shows much of what has gone down between them in recent weeks, starting from when CM Punk walked out in January.Next, we are shown footage from an interview that Michael Cole conducted with CM Punk this past Wednesday night on wwe.com. He wants to know what Punk is out to accomplish by facing he COO of the company at SummerSlam. Punk gives a slight smirk and say that he made it clear on the night he returned, he is sick and tired of Triple H and people with that mindset, being in control. “You know, to the surprise of most people, I actually have a good relationship with Vince McMahon now. Stephanie and Triple H are a completely different story. I’m going to beat his ass at SummerSlam, that’s what I want to accomplish. Maybe I’ll beat it to a point where he realizes that this is not the position for him to hold in the company, because he sure as hell sucks at it.” Cole asks how wise it is to target someone with the power that the Authority holds. Punk responds by saying that it probably isn’t the smartest move, but that’s never stopped him before. “I’ve never played very well under the constriction of ridiculous rules and that’s the case now. My issues with Triple H go back more than the past few weeks or months. This Monday, I’m going to air all of my grievances to the WWE Universe and I dare Triple H to do something about it.”
CHRIS JERICHO AND DOLPH ZIGGLER VS. ALEXANDER RUSEV AND SHEAMUS W/ LANA; Two of the biggest matches set for SummerSlam collide tonight in a big tag team affair. Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler have had their differences in the past, having a big time rivalry that spanned 2012 and 2013. Despite this, they work well as a team and some of their in ring chemistry carried over. Alexander Rusev and Sheamus though, are just two big brutes and they really hammer away on their smaller opponents. They are resilient until Rusev straight up kicks Jericho in the groin. He then takes Ziggler to the outside, leaving Sheamus free to Brogue Kick Jericho for the win. Alexander Rusev and Sheamus defeat Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler in 6:56!The fans in Laredo boo loudly as Alexander Rusev and Sheamus are declared the winners. They stand over their fallen opponents as Lana raises Rusev’s arm and Sheamus holds the Intercontinental Championship high in the air. “Could this be the image we see from Rusev and Sheamus at SummerSlam?” asks Michael Cole. An advertisement airs for SummerSlam. Instead of being set to the usual Travie McCoy theme though, "Wastelands" by Linkin Park plays instead and there is a fair amount of focus on the Shield vs. Wyatts match.
A recap from Raw is shown of the appearance by WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes. He tried his best to help Cody Rhodes in getting some answers from his other son, Goldust. Goldust wanted to give no response and then shoved his father to the ground in a heinous act.ADRIAN NEVILLE VS. GOLDUST; What a difference a few weeks make, as Goldust comes out to a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe. He shows a more aggressive side, wailing away on Adrian Neville with some big shots. Neville is able to use his quickness to free himself and bust out some incredible springboard moves. He goes for the Red Arrow, but Goldust moves and he crashes. Goldust then places Neville in the corner and looks to set him up for Shattered Dreams. Before he can do the damage though, Cody Rhodes runs out and charges the ring, sending Goldust scurrying. Cody dares him to get back in the ring but Goldust walks off, allowing himself to get counted out. Adrian Neville defeats Goldust via countout in 3:30!Goldust looks on as the official finishes the count, while Cody Rhodes helps Adrian Neville free himself from the corner. Neville thanks Cody, but he’s more interested in burning a hole through his brother with his eyes. Goldust doesn’t seem to care one bit, walking back through the curtain, continuing to avoid speaking to his brother. Returning, the Bella Twins are in the ring, ready for Brie’s upcoming match. The theme of the WWE Women’s Champion hits to a round of cheers as Paige steps out onto the stage. She has a microphone and introduces WWE Hall of Famer and seven time Women’s Champion, Trish Stratus, to a major ovation. They walk to the ring, with Trish staying outside to combat Nikki Bella.NON-TITLE MATCH: PAIGE W/ TRISH STRATUS VS. BRIE BELLA W/ NIKKI BELLA; These two met for the Women’s Championship back at Money in the Bank, but due to Brie Bella’s recent change in attitude, this has a very different feel. Brie isn’t interested in getting the fans to rally behind her, instead choosing to agitate them. She disrespects Paige with some slaps and talks smack to Trish at ringside, along with her sister. Paige begins to rally, picking up steam and letting out one of her signature yells. Nikki Bella gets on the apron, but Trish pulls her down and lays her out with a big right hand! Paige scores the win with the Paige Turner on Brie. Paige defeats Brie Bella in 6:02!Trish Stratus looks on, seemingly with pride, as Paige has her hand raised. Trish grabs the WWE Women’s Championship, brings it in the ring and hands it over to Paige before raising her hand as well. The Bella Twins retreat up the ramp, Nikki holding her jaw with one hand and helping her sister stand straight with the other. Trish requests a microphone and speaks to the Bella Twins. She says that she meant what she said about not wanting to be considered a “diva” if it meant being like the Bella Twins. “You two seem to have a problem with the ‘women’ of the WWE, so I’ve got an idea. The two of you step into this ring against the two of us at SummerSlam!” The crowd pops as Paige looks at Trish in disbelief. Nikki looks at Brie and then nods her head, accepting the challenge. Paige hugs Trish and again, seems shocked that she’s going to be teaming with arguably the greatest of all-time. SummerSlam just got a whole lot hotter!
We now go to a pre-taped video from Bo Dallas. He says that he’s heard a lot of talk recently about people wanting to win championships. “I’ve heard the Miz say it and I’ve heard that Adrian Neville say it. I mean, jeez Neville, you already have the NXT Title, do you really need to be so greedy? However, there’s a reason why I should be the next guy to win a title in the WWE. For one, have you ever seen Miz or Neville beat a giant like I did when I beat Big Show? No way Jose. Of course though, the biggest reason why I’ll be the next champion is because I, more than anyone else, Bolieve!” ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. RANDY ORTON; Considering the amount of matches these two have had with each other in recent years, they clearly know each other well. Alberto Del Rio and Randy Orton counter the signature moves and holds of the other throughout this entire match. Bad News Barrett casually strolls to ringside just as Del Rio starts to gain momentum. He gets distracted by it, but Barrett avoids getting involved for now. Del Rio tries for the Cross Armbreaker but Orton is again ready, and blocks it. He then snaps off a powerslam and starts to pound on the mat for the RKO. Del Rio is prepared though, shoving him off into the corner. As Orton comes back, Del Rio pulls him into a rollup, earning the three. Alberto Del Rio defeats Randy Orton in 10:56!Alberto Del Rio gets to his feet, but sees that Randy Orton is getting up and Bad News Barrett is also entering the ring. He charges at Barrett, but Orton strikes him from behind. They stomp on Del Rio, really wearing him down until the Usos run out to the ring. Jimmy takes down Orton with a clothesline while Barrett quickly gets out of dodge. Jey doesn’t allow that to be the case though, leaping straight out onto him, wiping him out. He gets in the ring with his brother as Orton helps Barrett up and they back up the ramp. The Usos look more than ready to face Batista and Orton at SummerSlam, but judging by Del Rio, barely getting to his feet, he may not be at 100% by then.

Monday Night Raw: August 11th, 2014 – Moda Center in Portland, Oregon Following the weekly Raw intro, we cut straight to the sold out arena in Portland, Oregon. The crowd is on their feet as Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield hype tonight’s show, including Hulk Hogan’s birthday celebration coming up around 10:00PM. Not only that but multiple special guests will be here for that event, and all three participants in the upcoming WWE World Heavyweight Championship match this Sunday are in attendance! CM Punk steps through the curtain to a massive reaction from the crowd. Michael Cole reminds the viewers that during his wwe.com interview with Punk last week, he promised that he would come out here and air his grievances with Triple H, who he is set to face in six nights at SummerSlam. Punk takes a microphone and removes the WWE part of it. He sits cross legged in the middle of the ring before speaking and saying that the things he is going to say right now probably aren’t going to make the higher ups in the WWE very happy. “Over three years ago, I sat on that stage and delivered a promo that people have since labeled a ‘pipe bomb’ and it altered the direction of my career. During that promo, I specifically stated that I thought the WWE as a company was going to be in trouble after Vince McMahon eventually passes away because it was going to be taken over by his idiotic daughter and his doofus son-in-law. Here we stand, three years later and while Vinny Mac is still kicking, things are being run by those two incompetent asses. I’m going to take you back to that time three years ago. I was the hottest thing going in the world of ‘sports entertainment’ and I chose to re-sign with the WWE. What happened next? Instead of facing guys like John Cena and Alberto Del Rio in classic matches, I was put into a situation where I had to work with Hunter. And guess what? Hunter pulled every single corporate string he could in the back to not only bring in his way over the hill buddy Kevin Nash to ruin everything, but to also screw me out of any and all momentum that I had. These past few years have featured nothing but HHH using his ‘power’ to get what he wants and not care about what you people want. That is part of why I went home after the Royal Rumble. I couldn’t stand working under the two of them. Hell, just look at earlier this year. He and Stephanie told you over and over again that Daniel Bryan was a B+ player, only for Bryan to beat him, Batista and Randy Orton all in one night and he’s held the title since then. Things like that show just how wrong Triple H is for the position that he’s in. At SummerSlam, I’m going to beat common sense into him and maybe then he’ll be able to talk some sense into his stupid wife and then…” We don’t get to hear what’s next because the music of Triple H hits and the COO steps onto the stage and looks absolutely furious. He tells CM Punk to flat out shut up because he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. “I am sick and tired of your mouth Punk. You have always been a disrespectful little peon and this Sunday, I am going to shut you up once and for all.” Punk begs him to come try right now and it seems like Triple H is going to oblige, but changes his mind. “No, you see, I only signed on for match out of my COO duties and that is for this Sunday. You want action so bad tonight though, you can have it. Tonight, you go one on one with Batista.” The crowd pops as Triple H heads to the back and CM Punk stares him down.
Some special “Happy Birthday Hulkster” shoutouts are shown, from celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Florida Georgia Line, Weird Al, David Hasselhoff, Mr. T and many others. Returning to Raw, Alberto Del Rio is standing in the ring awaiting the opening contest. The music of Kane plays as the Director of Operations comes out to the stage. He says that while Del Rio found a way to get a shot at the United States Championship, they still want him to prove that he is a worthy challenger. “So right now, you are going to face not one, but two WWE Superstars in a handicap match.” The theme of Rybaxel hits as they make their way to the ring.ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. RYBAXEL; Right from the start, the numbers game clearly takes its toll on Alberto Del Rio. Both Curtis Axel and Ryback take turns picking him apart, though for the most part it is the power of Ryback that proves to be too much for Del Rio. During the action, Bad News Barrett steps onto the stage and begins to deliver bad news, saying that this handicap match is only a fraction of the beatdown that Del Rio is going to receive when they meet at SummerSlam. This seems to rally Del Rio, who hits a vicious kick that knocks Ryback silly. He falls into the corner, where Axel tags in. He doesn’t fare much better and you can tell in Barrett’s voice that this isn’t going as planned anymore. Del Rio locks him in the Cross Armbreaker, scoring the submission. Alberto Del Rio defeats Rybaxel in 7:58!The WWE Universe come to their feet in approval of the win for Alberto Del Rio. Bad News Barrett is beside himself on the ramp. Renee Young enters the ring with a microphone and asks for a quick word with Del Rio. She asks him for his thoughts heading into the big match on Sunday. Del Rio points at Barrett, directing what he says to the champion. He reminds Barrett that there was a reason the Authority wanted to use him. “When I slap on that Cross Armbreaker, you either tap out or I break your arm. This Sunday Barrett, you will do one of those two things and I will be your new United States Champion!” The crowd pops before Del Rio goes back to the microphone to end with, “but you already knew that” and a wink. ERICK ROWAN AND LUKE HARPER W/ BRAY WYATT VS. KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM; The former number one contenders to the Tag Team Titles, Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam, haven’t had a ton of success recently. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper look like they are pissed about what has gone down with the Shield as of late, and try to take it out on the high flying duo. They just pummel them with vicious shots throughout this, while Kingston and RVD get random bursts of energy that nearly turn things around. Alas, they cannot complete a rally and Harper nails the discus lariat to claim the win. Erick Rowan and Luke Harper defeat Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam in 6:09!The celebration for the Wyatt Family proves to be short lived as once Bray Wyatt enters the ring, the music of the Shield hits to a thunderous pop from the fans in attendance. The trio set to face the Wyatt Family this Sunday make their way through the raucous crowd, stopping once they are outside of the ring, looking at the Wyatts. The WWE Universe is buzzing as the Shield get on the apron and enter the ring, standing right across from their biggest rivals. Reigns takes a step forward and so does Bray, coming face to face. Bray extends his arms, only for Reigns to strike him. This leads to Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins attacking Erick Rowan and Luke Harper, as we now have a pier six brawl on our hands. Neither team seems to gain a clear advantage, with them just trading blows including spilling to the outside. Reigns looks to try and spear Bray through the guardrail, but misses. Bray then clubs away on him until tons of officials and security rush out to separate these teams. It’s clear that with No Holds Barred at SummerSlam, this is going to be an absolute war.
Following a commercial break, the fans again come to their feet for the arrival of the Beast himself, Brock Lesnar. Of course, he is accompanied to the ring by Paul Heyman and once they enter, it is clear that we are going to hear from Heyman. He starts the promo with his trademark introduction and then says that he and Brock Lesnar are not in the arena tonight to play games. “My client Brock Lesnar does not show up to Raw without a purpose. He is not just here to remind you that he is the 1 in 21-1. My client is not here to remind you that he conquered the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania. My client is not here to tell you that this Sunday, he is going to rip John Cena and Daniel Bryan apart, tearing them limb from limb, on his way to winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He is here to start tearing them apart tonight.” The crowd comes alive for this news as we may just have a fight here tonight. Heyman continues talking, as Brock jumps around in intimidating fashion. “Now, I know that Daniel Bryan is running late tonight as he was doing a special meet and greet across the country, but we’ll get to him later. Right now, we’re more interested in John Cena. The man that Brock Lesnar nearly ended two years ago. The man…” Heyman is cut off by the music of John Cena himself as he steps out onto the stage. He has a microphone and looks like he’s going to speak, but instead just throws it down and charges the ring. He instantly is able to tackle Brock to the ground, causing the crowd to erupt. However, his advantage doesn’t last long as Brock turns it over and just pummels him with huge shots. Brock lifts Cena and hits a big German suplex. He picks Cena up again, hitting two more before jumping around like this is nothing. Cena shoves him off as he picks him up again and takes a swing, but Brock brushes it off. Cena can barely stand but takes another, only for Brock to duck and nail him with a fourth German suplex. The crowd is buzzing as Brock has just neutralized Cena like it was nothing. Heyman shouts to Brock, “ONE MORE!” Lesnar responds by hoisting Cena up and delivering a fifth German suplex. Brock and Heyman then leave Cena’s broken body in the ring, more than proving their point so far tonight. “Oh my goodness, what is in store for Daniel Bryan when he arrives later tonight?” asks Michael Cole. ADRIAN NEVILLE VS. BIG SHOW VS. BO DALLAS VS. THE MIZ W/ SUMMER RAE; During the entrances of these Superstars, commentary informs us that these four men have all staked their claims to try and win championships. Here, one of them gets to take a big step towards that. Right from the sound of the bell, Big Show’s main focus though is hurting Bo Dallas. He even gives chase to him around the ring, while Adrian Neville and Miz go at it in the ring. Show finally catches Bo and starts to light his chest up with chops. The reactions on Bo’s face are pretty priceless. The match breaks down, with everyone going after everyone. Show finally lays out Bo with the WMD, but gets dropkicked by Neville to the outside. Neville climbs up for the Red Arrow, but Miz sneaks in and covers Bo to steal the three count. The Miz defeats Adrian Neville, Big Show and Bo Dallas in 10:58!Adrian Neville stands on the top rope in disbelief as Miz quickly rolls out of the ring to celebrate his victory with Summer Rae. Big Show looks on disappointed as well, but it is the Miz who has possibly moved a step closer to earning a future shot at some gold here in the WWE. Bo Dallas is unaware of all of this as he is completely knocked out cold.
The ring is set up with a black carpet and standing in it are the legendary Mean Gene Okerlund and Jimmy Hart. They welcome everyone to this celebration for the birthday of Hulk Hogan. They introduce the man himself as the host of WrestleMania XXX appears on the stage, clad in red and yellow, to a huge ovation from the WWE Universe. Hogan makes it to the ring and thanks Gene and Jimmy. He addresses his Hulkamaniacs in Portland, thanking them for being here as well. “I love being here in the Silverdome” Hogan says, reminding us of his flub at WrestleMania and having a laugh. Before he can really continue, Jimmy Hart says that there are some sold guests who also want to wish him a happy birthday. The crowd pops as they hear a familiar “Woo” and Ric Flair comes out to the ring. He struts down the aisle, wooing along the way. He enters the ring, standing across from one of his greatest rivals ever before embracing the Hulkster in a big hug. Soon, the also familiar sound of bagpipes hit as Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff are now out, to the surprise of many since we don’t see Mr. Wonderful very often. They were the two opponents of Hulk at the inaugural WrestleMania. As they stand across from him in the ring, the music of the A-Team hits and out comes Hogan’s partner from WrestleMania, Mr. T! He enters the ring, standing side by side with Hogan, recreating an image from WrestleMania until they all embrace. Hogan thanks them for coming out and decides it is time to blow out the candles. “Alright brothers, it’s time to make a wish.” Before he can, the music of the nWo hits as the crowd erupts. Scott Hall and Kevin Nash enter the ring and Hall takes a survey. “Did everybody here come to see the red and yellow?” The fans cheer and he says that’s pretty good. “Or, did everybody here come to see Hulk Hogan in the black and white of the nWo?” The crowd cheers louder, prompting Hall to say “one more for the good guys.” Hogan rips his red and yellow Hulkamania shirt and reveals an nWo shirt. He “too sweets” Nash and Hall, who then break into singing “happy birthday.” Unfortunately, this feel good moment is interrupted by the theme of the “Bulgarian Brute”, Alexander Rusev. He walks out to the ring, flanked by Lana, who has a microphone. She says that this is a giant waste of time. “We should not be spending our night celebrating the past. We should be celebrating the present and the future, which is Rusev. This is the same thing that we’ve told that imbecile Chris Jericho. It’s not about what you fossils did in your heyday, it’s about the ‘Super Athlete’ and the fact that when he’s done, he will be a greater Superstar than all of you.” Rusev is now in the ring. Gene and Jimmy exit the ring as the tension builds. Rusev turns and quickly lays out Piper and Orndorff. Flair steps to him and lights him up with short rights and lefts but when he bounces off the ropes for a shot, Rusev hits him with a superkick. It’s now just Rusev and the nWo. Hall tries to charge but Rusev drops him and then comes face to face with the much larger Nash. Nash hits a big right hand that staggers Rusev back. Hogan cheers him on as Nash hits another but then Rusev knees him in the ribs and then actually slams the former WWF Champion. Hogan is left alone with Rusev and blocks a punch before pointing at him and looking like he’s going to Hulk up. The crowd goes wild but Rusev just clobbers him, sending him to the mat. “Dammit, Rusev don’t do this!” shouts Michael Cole. He stands over Hogan and locks in the Accolade as boos rain down from the concerned fans. Out rushes Chris Jericho to a huge pop as he kicks Rusev in the kick to break the submission. Jericho continues to fire away on him, sending him to the apron. Rusev goes to get to his feet, only for Jericho to springboard dropkick him to the floor. Jericho rallies the crowd as Lana signals for Rusev to back away. Jericho checks on Hogan and the fallen legends as the monstrous Rusev was looking unstoppable until he showed up to make the save. EMMA VS. NIKKI BELLA W/ BRIE BELLA; In case anyone missed it, this past Friday on Smackdown, Trish Stratus and Paige challenged the Bella Twins to a tag team match at SummerSlam and it is going down. Here, Nikki Bella looks to take out one of Paige’s good friends, Emma. Emma uses that infectious energy of hers to get the crowd excited. However, Nikki and her vicious streak make things difficult as she hammers away on Emma. Nikki ends up hoisting Emma up on her shoulders and hits the Rack Attack to score the pinfall. Nikki Bella def. Emma in 5:21!Nikki Bella raises her arms in victory as Brie Bella enters and poses alongside her. Nikki isn’t done however, picking Emma back up and looking for another Rack Attack. The music of the WWE Women’s Champion hits as Paige comes out to the stage with a microphone. She demands that Nikki puts her friend down. “You’re doing this to spite me but you leave my damn friend alone!” Nikki stares at her and looks at Brie, before dropping Emma with the move again. The look on Paige’s face could kill as she burns a hole through the Bella Twins. Paige steps back through the curtain, returning with a steel chair. The crowd comes alive as she heads down to the ring with it and the Bella Twins get out of the way. Paige checks on her friend, still holding the chair in one hand.
The cameras now cut to the Wyatt signature and we see Bray, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan standing backstage with smoke surrounding them. Bray speaks, saying that the Shield have ventured into a place that they are not prepared for. “When we broke you at Elimination Chamber that was to prove our superiority. This, this my friends is going to be different. This Sunday, it’s going to be No Holds Barred and this Sunday, it is personal. Roman Reigns, you had a chance to be different! You had a chance to be a part of something special and you turned your back on me! You turned your back on us! You are so concerned with what the people think of you. You waste time trying to get people to love you, you end up the most popular dead man in town. This Sunday, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and especially you Roman Reigns…RUN.” DOLPH ZIGGLER VS. KANE; In six nights, Dolph Ziggler challenges Sheamus for the Intercontinental Championship. Sheamus, like he has been in recent weeks, joins commentary to watch this Battleground rematch. Kane uses his power to beat up on Ziggler, coming out more aggressively than he did last month at Battleground. He attempts a Chokeslam, but Dolph counters with a huge DDT. He then starts to stalk Kane while looking over at Sheamus from time to time. He runs and hits the Zig Zag for the 1-2-3. Dolph Ziggler defeats Kane in 5:10!When the bell rings, Sheamus instantly slides in the ring and wallops Dolph Ziggler with a hard Brogue Kick, laying out his challenger for this Sunday. Sheamus screams down on him, shouting that he is undeserving of being the Intercontinental Champion. Kane gets to his feet, holding the back of his head and Sheamus tells him something. Kane lifts Dolph up by the throat and plants him with a Chokeslam. “How is Dolph Ziggler going to be in one piece come SummerSlam?” asks Michael Cole.
We are now informed that the main event for this Friday's Smackdown is set. ust 48 hours before the Intercontinental and United States Titles are decided in two huge matches, the four men collide when Alberto Del Rio teams with Dolph Ziggler to take on Bad News Barrett and Sheamus!
We are now directed to a video of a one on one sit down interview that Michael Cole conducted with Goldust and Cody Rhodes. They are sitting across from each other and Cole welcomes everyone to this before stating that both men have agreed to not have this get physical. Michael starts with the obvious question, asking Goldust what led to him attacking Cody at Battleground and costing him the United States Title. Goldust stares blankly at his brother before speaking, saying that it is Cody’s fault. Cody is clearly frustrated but Cole stays calm, saying that we heard Goldust say this last week, but he needs to elaborate a bit more. Goldust gives a deep sigh and says that Cody made him do it. “I was gone from the WWE for a very long time. I returned for one night to face Randy Orton and try to get your job back because I believed that you were the guy who could take this family name back to the level that I was never able to reach. You were the chosen one Cody. I wanted nothing but success for you. Then, when I failed to get you your job back, we had to unite the family in a way that we had never done before and we worked together to get our jobs. Then we won the Tag Team Titles and the Brotherhood was off and running. Somewhere along the way though, after we lost those belts, we lost our way. We started to lose match after match and I couldn’t pinpoint why until you said you wanted to try your hand at a singles run. It was clear from that point on that you didn’t care about me, our tag team or our family. You wanted to be that star that I hoped you would be when I tried to get your job back. Your selfish act is what led to what I did at Battleground.” Cody chimes in, saying that he never meant to break up the Brotherhood and that wasn’t why they were struggling at all. Cole jumps in, saying that even if that is what Cody wanted, it sounds like Goldust wanted his brother to be a star. “Oh I did. I wanted him to be the biggest star this industry had ever seen. But not this way. Do it like a man and come to me. Don’t try and phase me out and don’t try and get dad to tell me anything. He doesn’t have the right.” Cody tries to plead his case, saying that he just wanted to find something that worked. “My intention was never to harm our relationship when it was stronger than it ever had been, you have to believe that Dustin.” Goldust snaps at the sound of his name and stands quickly. He challenges Cody to a match at SummerSlam and storms off, leaving Cody and Cole speechless. Cody looks down and then quietly accepts the match.
BATISTA VS. CM PUNK; As soon as the bell rings, CM Punk gets distracted by Randy Orton and Triple H strolling down to ringside. Punk doesn’t seem too worried though, instead smirking and pointing to the stage when they reach ringside. From the stage, the Usos appear to help even the odds to a pop from the crowd. The match itself sees Batista use his incredible brute strength to bully Punk. He is in firm control, slapping Punk and talking smack to the Usos while his Evolution brothers chuckle. Suddenly, Punk begins to rally, and sends Batista reeling. He hits the corner knee strike/bulldog combination and signals for the Go to Sleep. He hoists Batista up onto his shoulders, but Orton gets in the ring and levels him. CM Punk defeats Batista in 12:08 via disqualification! The numbers game is quickly on the side of the good guys as the Usos run in but Randy Orton is quick to roll back out of the ring, pulling Batista out with him. Triple H meets up with them and they head up the ramp, smiling as the Usos and CM Punk look on and are livid. There will be no hitting and running this Sunday as these men will collide.
The fans rejoice as Daniel Bryan’s theme plays and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion comes down to the ring. He gets inside, grabs a microphone and awaits the chants of “Yes” to die down. He starts by saying that he saw what went down earlier between Brock Lesnar and John Cena. “I saw Brock hit German suplex after German suplex and nearly send John Cena to the hospital. Think about that folks. John Cena wrestled me last year with his elbow in terrible shape and was back within two months. The guy is like Superman but Brock was able to leave him lying. This is what I’m stepping into this Sunday. I’ve never faced Brock Lesnar before but I’ve gotten glimpses of what to expect and I gotta say, I’m not sure if I’ll survive.” The fans boo this news but Bryan continues by saying that if he’s going down, he’s taking Brock with him, which turns their reaction around. Brock Lesnar’s music now hits, signaling that things are about to get serious. Brock and Paul Heyman walk down to the ring as Bryan puts his titles down and prepares for war. Once Brock gets to ringside, Bryan leaps at him with a suicide dive, knocking him down. The fans are on their feet as Bryan fires away with right hands on Brock. Brock is a different animal though, turning this over and brutalizing Bryan with shots to the mid-section. He throws Bryan in the ring and stalks him, hooking him for a German suplex. Bryan manages to counter it by landing on his feet and when Brock turns around, he’s met with the Busaiku Knee! Bryan has the crowd chanting “Yes!” with him until he stops when he sees Brock get up rather quickly. As Bryan sets to hit the move again, John Cena of all people, walks down to the ring, holding his ribs and not looking like he should be moving, but he does have a steel chair. Bryan charges for the knee again but Brock dodges and hoists him up for an F5. Cena enters and whacks Brock in the back with the chair, sending him to a knee. He musters off three more shots, sending Brock to the mat. Bryan, free from the F5, looks at him and gives him a nod as Cena delivers one more shot to the back of Brock, taking down the beast for good. Paul Heyman is in disbelief, screaming for Brock to get up. Bryan stands by Cena, looking down at Brock, only for Cena to pull him in and nail him with an Attitude Adjustment! “What the hell did Cena do that for?” asks Michael Cole. JBL responds by saying the WWE Title is why he did that. Cena picks up the two belts as the fans mostly boo and looks at them to close Raw with his SummerSlam opponents laid out.

WWE NXT: August 14th, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florid
Following the signature WWE intro, we go to a video package showing Sami Zayn’s desire to win some gold in NXT. We see him fail with numerous tag team partners to find some success until the Ascension, overconfident from his struggles, challenged him with the titles on the line. Last week, Zayn appeared with his best friend, Kevin Owens, and won the NXT Tag Team Titles, ending the Ascension’s lengthy reign. Tom Phillips, Renee Young and Byron Saxton welcome us to the show. They hype tonight’s main event, which is a non-title match between Adrian Neville and Tyson Kidd, before sending it to our opening contest. JASON JORDAN AND TYE DILLINGER VS. THE VAUDEVILLAINS; The fans in Full Sail University seem to love the Vaudevillains despite their villainous ways. Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger seem to have some communication issues early on but seem to right the ship. The crowd comes to their feet at the surprising arrival of Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter. They stand atop the stage and discuss some inaudible things while watching the match. The Vaudevillains soon pick up the pace and hit the Whirling Dervish on Dillinger, scoring the pinfall. The Vaudevillains defeat Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger in 3:06!
The Vaudevillains get to their feet and do their manly pose in the center of the ring, racking up another win. Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter leave to the back while the camera catches a disappointed Jason Jordan looking at Tye Dillinger. He goes to assist him in getting up but still looks displeased with his partner.
Backstage, Charlotte is shown sitting down with the NXT Women’s Title draped across her lap, when Bayley enters the picture. They seem to have become friendly again as of late and Bayley asks if Charlotte is pulling for Sasha Banks or Summer Rae tonight. Charlotte, still a confident woman, says that it doesn’t matter who wins because she is the Women’s Champion for a reason. “I’ve already proven that I can beat Summer and I’ll do the same with Sasha if she wins.” Bayley sits with her to watch the match.
An ad airs to promote Total Divas, as all of season one is now available on demand on the WWE Network! A vignette is shown, highlighting Mason Ryan. The Welsh powerhouse has made quick work of his opponents on NXT and we see footage of his wins lately, which have been under a minute each time out. Can anyone pose a challenge to Mason?
Devin Taylor is now standing by with Tyler Breeze. She questions him about walking around at ringside during Kalisto’s victory last week. Tyler, staring into his phone, looks offended that Devin would ask such a question. He says that he thought his intentions were obvious. “I told you all a few weeks ago that I was going to rid NXT of all of the uggos around here. Well uggo numero uno is Kalisto.” Devin looks confused and asks how Tyler would know that since Kalisto wears a mask. Tyler looks incredibly annoyed with her and says that’s why he wears the mask. “He is a major uggo and I’m going rid NXT of him and his hideous mask. Tyler out.” SASHA BANKS VS. SUMMER RAE; Summer Rae clearly talks trash right from the bell, but Sasha Banks is having none of that. She seems to be on her game tonight, more serious than ever as she puts Summer in her place. Summer retaliates with a big slap that allows her to turn the tide a bit, but neither of the original BFFs can really pull ahead. Summer seems to set up for the summer crush but Sasha turns and trips her up into a rollup for two. They get up at the same time and Sasha levels her with a huge forearm. She then hits a lung blower, right into the Bank Statement. She rears back, Summer taps and Sasha wins. Sasha Banks defeats Summer Rae in 7:12!The fans in Full Sail University give a loud mixed reaction as Sasha Banks stands up and has her hand raised. She doesn’t take time to enjoy it though, instead demanding a microphone. Sasha then instantly calls out Charlotte, who responds and appears atop the stage. Sasha address her and the NXT Women’s Championship. “You beat Summer Rae, I beat Summer Rae. You were one of the BFFs and I was one of the BFFs. The only difference between us right now is that title. So let’s do this. You and me, for the NXT Women’s Championship at TakeOver.” Charlotte looks around and nods her head in agreement, giving us our second match for the big event on September 11th.
An advertisement runs to promote SummerSlam, set to “Keep on Keeping on” by Travie McCoy. SummerSlam can be seen on the WWE Network and on Pay-Per-View this Sunday night!
A vignette airs, continuing the adventures of Enzo and Big Cass in Queens. When we last left them, they were entering Enzo’s mom’s house for some food. Here, they arrive and Enzo’s mom is your stereotypical overbearing mother. She questions Enzo for being skinny, asking why nobody cooks for him in Florida. Enzo is embarrassed by this, but she is incredibly sweet to Cass. After we get a tour of Enzo’s childhood home, they get ready for dinner, which is set to be a fair amount of pasta. Suddenly, a knock on the door is heard and Enzo asks who else is coming. His mom responds, “Well, I didn’t want to tell you ahead of time because I was afraid you wouldn’t show, but I found a good Italian woman for you.” She gets up to answer the door and Enzo places his head on the table. Cass asks what’s wrong and Enzo responds by saying that his mom has never had good taste in women for him. It ends here with another “to be continued…” BLAKE AND MURPHY VS. OLIVER GREY AND SIN CARA; Recently, both Oliver Grey and Sin Cara tried out as the tag team partners of Sami Zayn but were unsuccessful. They look to join forces and turn things around, but are faced with one of the newest teams in NXT, Blake and Murphy. The dubstep loving duo work very well together, showcasing chemistry and busting out some double team moves. Grey and Sin Cara don’t gel the way their opponents do, causing their demise. Blake and Murphy finish them off with a running suplex/frog splash combination. Blake and Murphy defeat Oliver Grey and Sin Cara in 3:41!A strong debut for new duo of Blake and Murphy. With Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens winning the NXT Tag Team Titles, plus teams like the Ascension, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady, the Vaudevillains, now Blake and Murphy and more, this division is heating up.
Following a break, the crowd erupts when the music of Sami Zayn this. He comes out to the stage, alongside his less thrilled partner, Kevin Owens, both with their NXT Tag Team Titles. Sami has a microphone and says that while they are not scheduled to compete tonight, he wanted to come out here and allow his best friend to properly introduce himself. He hands the microphone over to Kevin Owens, who has a bit more of an attitude. “My name is Kevin Owens, but honestly, if you don’t already know who I am, you seriously need to educate yourself. Sami and I have traveled the world together and held multiple Tag Team Titles together, but damn, none feel better than these. It took me a little longer but I’m here in the WWE now and we are going to change tag team wrestling.” The fans applaud this before Owens delves a little deeper into himself, saying that he fights for one reason and one reason only. “You see this shirt? It says Fight Owens Fight on the back and that is because I will fight anyone at any time. I’m here to be successful so that I can be a good father to my children and a good husband to my wife. NXT locker room, understand this. There is no more dangerous man than someone who is fighting for his family.” Owens throws the microphone down and signals for Sami to leave with him. Sami shakes his head with a chuckle, glad to have his typically angry buddy back by his side.
The video package to hype the debut of Hideo Itami is shown again, this time with more footage, including some clips of Itami kicking the hell out of people in the WWE Performance Center. It ends with the words “Hideo Itami is coming to NXT.” Tyson Kidd comes out for the main event, accompanied by Natalya, but looks greatly annoyed. He looks up at the tron, seemingly bugged by yet another Hideo Itami video playing. During his entrance though, we get “hacked” and see Solomon Crowe backstage with his control panel. He says that he knows that Evan Bourne called him out last week, but there was no chance he’d respond then and there. “Evan needs to get something through his head. He doesn’t make demands. He is not in control. You see this in my hand? This means that I’m always in control. Your time has come and gone Evan, and it’s time for me to take over NXT.” NON-TITLE MATCH: ADRIAN NEVILLE VS. TYSON KIDD W/ NATALYA; About a month ago, these two faced off with the NXT Championship on the line on the historic “Live in Osaka” show on the WWE Network. Similar to that night, Tyson Kidd looks to target the leg of Adrian Neville. He stomps on it, hits a dragon screw and wears it down. Tyson tries for the Sharpshooter, but Neville is always ready for it, kicking him away or rolling him up. Neville climbs up for the Red Arrow but his leg gives out and he falls to the mat hard. Tyson covers to try and take advantage, but only gets two. Tyson grows frustrated and looks for the Sharpshooter for the fourth time. Once again though, Neville is ready and pulls him into a small package to secure the victory. Adrian Neville defeats Tyson Kidd in 13:57!As the crowd gives Adrian Neville a round of applause for his efforts, Tyson Kidd sits there in disappointment. He exits the ring and Natalya tries to console him but he wants to hear none of it and shoves her hand away. As they leave up the ramp arguing, Corey Graves rushes past them and into the ring. He stomps on Neville, not allowing him to get up. “This is uncalled for dammit!” shouts Byron Saxton. Graves looks at Neville on the ground holding his leg and, like a shark smelling blood, instantly grabs it and locks in Lucky 13! Officials run out to try and get him to break the hold but Graves is like a man possessed. He just wrenches while Neville shouts in pain. Corey finally lets it go, standing up to boos. He picks up the NXT Championship and hoists it high in the air. Could this be the sight we see on September 11th?

The official SummerSlam Kickoff show, presented to you all by Mountain Dew Kickstart, begins with shots of the fans entering the sold out Staples Center. The Kickoff Panel tonight consists of your host Renee Young, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, the “analyst” Alex Riley and another WWE Hall of Famer, Hulk Hogan! Hogan starts off by informing everyone that he is feeling much better after feeling the effects of the Accolade this past Monday, but admits it has taken him all six days to recover. After discussing the majority of the card, complete with video package highlights, they stop to send it to the ring for the first match of our Kickoff Show, which was announced this past Friday on Smackdown.BATTLE ROYAL; Featured in this battle royal is everyone that wasn’t already on the card for tonight. That includes Adam Rose, Adrian Neville, Big Show, Bo Dallas, Christian, Darren Young, 3MB, the Age of Enlightenment, Los Matadores, Fandango, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, Miz, R-Truth, Rybaxel, Santino Marella, Rob Van Dam, Zack Ryder and Tyson Kidd. Highlights include 3MB getting eliminated by Rose and Santino, Big Show knocking out Bo Dallas to eliminate him and then the ring ganging up on Show to dump him. It comes down to the final four of RVD, Miz, Neville and Christian. Miz makes the mistake of badmouthing everyone, so they all join up to beat him up. He rolls outside under the bottom rope. This allows for an exciting back and forth battle between three of the top fan favorites involved. Neville wows the crowd with his high flying ability and manages to eliminate Christian. He and RVD struggle on the ropes until Miz sneaks back in and sends them both over! RVD hits the floor but Neville holds on and pulls himself back in. Miz celebrates like he won and is stunned when he sees that Neville is still in. Miz charges but Neville hits a spinning back kick, followed by a series of other kicks. He goes up top for the Red Arrow, but it proves costly as Miz crotches him. Miz goes up with him, but Neville fights him off and pulls him over and to the floor, earning the win. Adrian Neville wins the Battle Royal in 10:10!The fans leap to their feet for Adrian Neville’s victory. He is handed his NXT Championship and he holds it high in the air. For weeks, Neville has said that he wants to add more gold to his collection and now he has a shot at the United States or Intercontinental Championship, whichever he chooses.
The Kickoff Panel now discusses the previous match before shifting their focus to the massive WWE World Heavyweight Championship match later tonight. Following a video package for that, they send it to our next and final Kickoff match, between two brothers. CODY RHODES VS. GOLDUST; You can see the rage in Cody Rhodes’ eyes as he stares daggers across the ring at his brother. Once the bell rings, he charges and just fires away with right hands on Goldust, forcing him to cower in the corner. “Cody Rhodes is like a man possessed right now and I can’t blame him” says Jerry Lawler. The referee separates them, but Cody desperately wants to get at his brother. His aggressiveness costs him as Goldust pulls him into the middle turnbuckle. Goldust now proceeds to pick apart his younger brother. It isn’t just the physical pain either. While he does hit multiple moves on Cody, he also spends time in between them verbally berating him. Shouts about Cody being the embarrassment of the family, telling Cody that he no longer considers him his brother and screaming that this is all Cody’s fault. Goldust seems to be enjoying the punishment that he’s dishing out. He sets up for the Curtain Call, but Cody is able to wriggle out and deliver some loud sounding right hands. Cody’s flurry of offense continues, hitting the Disaster Kick and a reverse DDT. Cody shouts back at his brother that he loved him. They come head to head and Goldust just slaps his brother. Cody is pissed and plants Goldust with the Cross Rhodes for the win. Cody Rhodes defeats Goldust in 8:06!Cody Rhodes gets to his knees and is announced the winner, but it’s clear that this wasn’t an enjoyable one. He looks to have a mixture of sadness and anger on his face. The fans cheer for him but he is no mood to celebrate. He goes to leave but stops and looks at Goldust trying to get up. Cody turns back and attempts to help him. Goldust looks at him and pulls him into a hug. The crowd claps for the nice moment but Goldust ruins it with a vicious low blow! “Dammit!” shouts Michael Cole. Goldust isn’t done though, dragging his brother and placing him on the second turnbuckle. He runs in and kicks him with the Golden Globes. Viciously, he just continues to kick at it, several times, until the official can pull him away. Cody Rhodes may have won the match, but Goldust is the one leaving him in a heap.

SummerSlam Kickoff Show
NXT Champion Neville winning the Battle Royal earning himself a WWE United States Championship match or a WWE Intercontinental Championship match any time he wants, and he is already the NXT Champion too to boot but then that means wouldn't he have to drop the NXT Championship? Especially now that he is pretty much guaranteed to make that jump to the main roster especially now that he won this Battle Royal to earn himself a match against either the WWE Intercontinental Champion or against the WWE United States Champion
And to end the Kickoff Show, a battle of 2 brothers, sibling rivalry coming to a head with The American Dream Dusty Rhodes his 2 sons Goldust and Cody Rhodes going at it, brother vs brother with Cody Rhodes going over Goldust this match was so back and forth but also the storytelling behind it I mean the chemistry that these 2 brothers have or had out there in this match is what makes the crowd hot and considering Cody Rhodes is the babyface here in this feud and Goldust being the heel with Cody going over I mean it is almost a guarantee that this feud will be continuing and after that display from Goldust post match attacking his brother as soon as he got the victory yeah that is almost certain that this feud will be continuing
And what a Panel too with Renee Young, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, Alex Riley and WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan now that is quite a panel especially with Hogan there
But all in all this Kickoff Show definitely sets the tone for SummerSlam as a PPV so I can't wait to see what you have planned as far as the main show goes

As for my SummerSlam predictions here on each match:
WWE World Heavyweight Championship (Triple Threat Match)- Daniel Bryan (c) vs John Cena vs Brock Lesnar- Winner: New WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, I see The Beast taking both John Cena and Daniel Bryan to Suplex City but also after what Brock did at Mania ending Taker's streak if he doesn't win the title here then him ending the streak would have been for nothing while if he wins the title then it sets up Lesnar vs Bryan as an eventual rematch but also a loss here wouldn't really hurt Bryan or Cena so that is why I see Brock coming out of this WWE World Heavyweight Champion now as for who Lesnar pins I see him pinning Cena which means Bryan never got pinned
CM Punk vs Triple H- Winner: CM Punk, I see Punk somehow beating Triple H but also Punk could use the win more considering the last time these 2 superstars feuded was 2011 and who came out on top? Triple H did when he beat Punk at Night of Champions 2011 so that is why here at SummerSlam 2014 Punk needs to go over Triple H but also Triple H is a part-timer now since he is the COO of WWE but also in sense an authority figure and Triple H/Punk is similar sort of in a sense like McMahon/Austin so that is why Punk needs to go over because he needs the win more not only is he a full-time guy but also Punk with this win he can move on to bigger things
No Holds Barred Match- The Wyatt Family vs The Shield- Winners: The Wyatt Family, I see Bray Wyatt's SummerSlam streak continuing here and considering last year Wyatt he beat Kane I see The Wyatt Family going over The Shield and why? Because I think it will probably be because someone in The Shield turns on the other 2 leaving them to fend for themselves or it will be because of a miscommunication and because of that The Wyatt Family will take full advantage
WWE Tag Team Championships- The Usos (c) vs Batista & Randy Orton- Winners: Still WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos, I feel The Usos they could use the rub a whole lot more than Batista & Orton but also Batista he has Guardians of the Galaxy that he needs to be promoting right? So I don't understand why Big Dave is still hanging around and not to mention isn't he shooting his new movie the newest James Bond movie Spectre? So then for that reason that is why I see The Usos going over mainly in part because of Batista's Hollywood schedule but also because a loss here doesn't really hurt Batista and Orton considering how much of legends these 2 already are and with a huge win like this for The Usos over multi-time World Champions it would solidify their reign as WWE Tag Team Champions
WWE Intercontinental Championship- Sheamus (c) vs Dolph Ziggler- Winner: Still WWE Intercontinental Champion Sheamus, I see him somehow still retaining his title here against Dolph but doing it either by getting himself intentionally disqualified or intentionally counted out either way Sheamus I see him still walking out as champion but for Dolph to either win this match by DQ or by countout which means that this feud will continue and I for one see it continuing beyond SummerSlam
WWE United States Championship- Mr. Money in the Bank & WWE United States Champion Wade Barrett (c) vs Alberto Del Rio- Winner: New WWE United States Champion Del Rio, I see Del Rio winning the title here and why? Because Wade Barrett since he is the face of The Authority well pretty much he is since he is already the WWE United States Champion and he has that Money in the Bank briefcase which he could cash in at any time to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion I see Barrett dropping the title here because quite frankly he doesn't really need it at this point especially if he is already guaranteed to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion but also Del Rio it has been a long time since he's been a champion here in WWE so I think Del Rio is overdue for a title reign and considering Alberto he has never been WWE United States Champion then he will be one step closer to becoming a Triple Crown Champion here in WWE which means he will have won every title there is to win in the WWE
Paige & Trish vs The Bella Twins: Winners: Paige & Trish Stratus, there is no way I see Trish losing especially with her return to PPV and all and not to mention she is teaming up with Paige too I see Paige making the very best of this match teaming with Trish but also a loss here for The Bella Twins won't really hurt them but I think it would rather elevate their stock because Trish will definitely make them look good in the ring with her but also Paige by teaming with a WWE Hall of Famer like Trish who is probably the greatest WWE Women's/Divas Champion of all time I mean this pretty much is a passing of the torch here
Chris Jericho vs Rusev w/Lana- Winner: Rusev, no way I see Rusev losing considering he is still undefeated here in WWE and he hasn't lost a match on a RAW or Smackdown episode nor has he lost yet on PPV but also Jericho he is known for putting young guys over so no doubt he will put Rusev over and not to mention Rusev is a top heel here in WWE in your diary so a win for Rusev would further elevate him as a monster heel but also Jericho he wouldn't really be hurt by this loss either way

As for SummerSlam after SummerSlam, my predictions for Night of Champions:
WWE World Heavyweight Championship- Brock Lesnar (c) w/Paul Heyman vs Daniel Bryan
Cody Rhodes vs Goldust (Grudge Match) (SummerSlam Rematch)
WWE United States Championship- Alberto Del Rio (c) vs Rusev w/Lana
WWE Intercontinental Championship- Sheamus (c) vs Dolph Ziggler (SummerSlam Rematch)
John Cena vs Mr. Money in the Bank Wade Barrett (Feud starts right after SummerSlam)
WWE Women's Championship (Triple Threat Match)- Paige (c) vs Nikki Bella vs Naomi
WWE Tag Team Championship (Tag Team Turmoil)- The Usos (c) vs The Ascension vs The Lucha Dragons vs The New Day vs Primetime Players
The Wyatt Family vs The Shield (The Final Encounter)
CM Punk vs Randy Orton (Feud basically continues from Triple H/Punk since Batista will be off promoting Guardians but also since he is going to be filming Spectre too, so there is that to consider)

OK, I've been skimming through your diary over the past few weeks, and I'm blown away by it, Kev, I really am. Some excellent booking going on here!
The SS Pre-show was cool, I love the direction you're going with Goldust and Cody, and I'm hoping that it continues for a while. Neville winning the battle royal was a good decision, establishing the NXT champion as a force to be reckoned with. Looking forward to seeing how SS itself goes.
