WWE Night of Champions: September 21st, 2014 - Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee

The official Night of Champions Kickoff show, presented by Mountain Dew Kickstart, opens to shots of fans arriving at the Bridgestone Arena. Renee Young, our host, welcomes the viewers at home and introduces tonight’s panel. Hall of Famer Booker T, the “analyst” Alex Riley and “Captain Charisma” Christian are on hand. They finish the introductions and go right into discussing tonight’s huge event. Their first discussion is on what will most likely be our longest match of the evening when Dolph Ziggler puts his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Sheamus in a 30 minute Ironman match. This leads us into clips from past Ironman matches and how much work both men have put into preparing for this historic bout. They move onto the United States Title and the Six Pack Challenge. Nobody on the panel expected Alberto Del Rio to walk out as champion. “The law of averages just don’t favor the champion” says Alex Riley. He picks Adrian Neville to become the new champion now that he’s dropped the NXT Title. Renee and Christian pick Chris Jericho, while Booker T sees the Authority and Bad News Barrett taking it back. Renee leads a discussion about the two Divas matches tonight and promotes the upcoming Divas Smackdown special. She thinks the Bellas will split tonight with Brie beating AJ Lee, but Paige keeping the Women’s Title. Before talking about any other matches, they send it to the ring for the Kickoff match.

THE AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT VS. THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS; Over the past number of weeks, Titus O’Neil was mistreated by his former Age of Enlightenment buddies. He finally had enough and got in Damien Sandow’s face only for Xavier Woods to low blow him. Darren Young came to the rescue, reforming the Prime Time Players with his big buddy. Titus wants to start the match against Sandow and it looks like they are going to go at it but Sandow tags out, avoiding confrontation. “Some leader he is” says Michael Cole. While disappointed, Titus takes it out on Woods, throwing him into the corner and beating on him. They aren’t called the Age of Enlightenment for nothing though as after Woods falls to the mat, he points at Young, saying he wants him. Young answers the call, but it is just what the duo wants. Young goes to attack but Woods pulls him into their corner. Sandow tags in and puts the boots to Young. “Of course now Damien Sandow wants in” says Jerry Lawler. The brilliant combination of Sandow and Woods continue to work over Young and keep Titus out of the ring, cutting it in half. After a few minutes, Young is able to slip free and make the tag to O’Neil. He comes in hot, finally getting his hands on Damien Sandow. He tosses him around with high impact offense and slams him with the Clash of the Titus. Woods blind tagged in just before the move hit and rolls Titus up for a close near fall. The look of fear in his eyes when that fails is telling. Titus lifts him up and plans him with the Clash of the Titus for the win. The Prime Time Players defeat the Age of Enlightenment in 7:19!

Titus O’Neil leaps to his feet and lets out a loud bark. Darren Young joins him in the ring and they bust out the “millions of dollars” dance to the enjoyment of the fans. They exit up the ramp while the Age of Enlightenment look on in disappointment.

Cutting back to our Kickoff show panel, they discuss the matches they haven’t touched on yet. The Tag Team Titles are talked about first, with nobody picking Roman Reigns and John Cena to win, citing they don’t have the teamwork to match Batista and Randy Orton. “Also, don’t forget that Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are sure to be lurking somewhere and that issue is still unresolved” says Alex Riley. The last topic they hit is the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. CM Punk and Brock Lesnar are set for a rematch of their SummerSlam 2013 battle, which many people called the match of the year. The panel is split with Renee Young and Booker T seeing Punk walk out with the gold, while Riley and Christian think Brock will retain. The Kickoff show finishes with a video package highlighting their rivalry, set to “Title Fight” by Blitz Kids.

Our actual Pay-Per-View starts with the WWE signature and then goes into a video package showing how championship belts are made. While we see this, various images and clips of champions in history are shown. Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, the Fabulous Moolah, the Hart Foundation, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Trish Stratus and others. The last person we see is Brock Lesnar and his newly won WWE World Title. The camera then cuts to the arena, where Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield welcome the fans to the jam packed Bridgestone Arena and Night of Champions! Before the opener, images pass across the screen of some classic US Champions in history ranging from Sting to Lex Luger to John Cena to Dean Ambrose and finally, to Alberto Del Rio.

WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP SIX PACK CHALLENGE – ALBERTO DEL RIO (C) VS. ADRIAN NEVILLE VS. BAD NEWS BARRETT VS. CHRIS JERICHO VS. GOLDUST VS. THE MIZ W/ SUMMER RAE; The six men stand across from each other in the ring as the crowd buzzes to start tonight’s event. Everyone goes after each other, with Chris Jericho and Bad News Barrett, Alberto Del Rio and Goldust, and Miz and Adrian Neville pairing off. “Like we expected, this is going to be one hell of a fight” says John “Bradshaw” Layfield. With everyone pairing off, the fans do their best to keep track of all of the action. During all of this, the cameras cut backstage to see Cody Rhodes watching on a monitor. A few minutes in, Goldust looks for the Curtain Call on Del Rio but Barrett charges in and levels him with the Bull Hammer! He covers and gets rid of him. Goldust has been eliminated! Barrett and Miz, being the two remaining heels, pair up to pound on the champion. Neville springboards in with a dropkick that sends both of them back. Jericho climbs in and instantly puts Miz in the Walls of Jericho. Neville climbs up and looks for the Red Arrow on Barrett but crashes and burns. Barrett instantly covers but Neville gets a shoulder up just as Miz reaches the ropes. “This is too much to keep track of” says Jerry Lawler. Shortly after saying this, the next elimination comes when Neville actually hits the Red Arrow on Miz. The Miz has been eliminated! With Miz gone, Barrett finds himself in an odd situation. The three remaining faces all see each other and agree to join up and get him back for his wrongdoings. Barrett pleads with them, but gets his comeuppance. It ends when Jericho goes to apply the Walls, but Barrett pulls him into a small package for the three. Chris Jericho has been eliminated! Jericho is in shock but Barrett laughs at him. Del Rio comes at him with a kick but Barrett ducks and runs at Neville, laying him out with a Bull Hammer. He turns to Del Rio and swings again but his arm is grabbed into the Cross Armbreaker! Barrett tries to reach the ropes but can’t and has to tap. Bad News Barrett has been eliminated! Del Rio lets go and takes a breather. He gets up and sees Neville getting up across the ring. “Adrian Neville has wanted WWE gold for months and is one step away from getting some tonight” says Michael Cole. The two men go at it, trading offense. Neville scores multiple near falls, coming closer and closer to winning. He hits a reverse rana and goes up top for the third time. Instead of trying the Red Arrow again, he looks for the inverted 450 splash, but Del Rio moves and Neville lands ugly. He gets to his knees only to be laid out with a superkick. Del Rio covers and retains the gold. Alberto Del Rio defeats Adrian Neville, Bad News Barrett, Chris Jericho, Goldust and the Miz to retain the WWE United States Championship in 14:06!

The Bridgestone arena cheers as Alberto Del Rio is declared the winner. Adrian Neville is out cold but the fans know that he put forth one hell of an effort tonight. Commentary puts him over and Michael Cole points out that a missed inverted 450 splash was also the move that cost him the NXT Title a few weeks ago. Del Rio helps Neville up and shakes his hand, doing the same thing that Dolph Ziggler did when Neville came so close to winning the Intercontinental Title last month.

We go backstage to Byron Saxton, who is standing by with the Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler. He asks for his thoughts on the Ironman match tonight. Dolph admits to this being his first Ironman match and reminds us that he’s been watching as many old Ironman matches as possible, while upping his cardio. “I know that Sheamus is tough, but I’ve beaten him before and tonight, I prove that I can beat him whenever we step into the ring together.”

AJ LEE VS. BRIE BELLA; No Nikki Bella at ringside with her sister tonight as she’s preparing for her match later. Brie Bella talks smack to AJ Lee just before the bell, but once it rings, AJ charges and takes her down with a Lou Thez Press. She follows with a flurry of right hands and head slams. “AJ Lee is like a woman possessed” says Jerry Lawler. AJ tosses Brie outside and continues to attack like a rabid dog. Brie is able to reverse an Irish whip and send AJ into the guardrail. She drops AJ face first into the barricade and sends her inside, covering for two. Brie now tries to work over AJ’s neck for a bit, wearing her down. She tries for the Bella Buster, but AJ shoves her off into the ropes and hits a spinning heel kick. AJ smiles at the downed Bella and looks to capitalize, but Brie is ready and pulls her face first into the second turnbuckle. With AJ down, Brie shouts “BRIE MODE” and runs in with a big knee. She goes to the second rope for a missile dropkick but AJ avoids it. “High risk moves are not really paying off so far tonight” says JBL. AJ Lee catches Brie on her way up with a shining wizard for a near fall. Not fazed by the close call, AJ looks to pounce. She bounces off the ropes and goes for the Black Widow. Brie tries to counter, but falls to her knee as AJ wrenches back. Brie has no choice but to tap out. AJ Lee defeats Brie Bella in 5:02!

AJ Lee releases the hold and gets to her feet. She looks down at Brie Bella, picking up the win that she’s wanted since her return. AJ Lee poses on the second rope and motions around her waist, signaling that now that she’s done with a Bella, her focus is back on the title she lost in May.

A commercial runs to hype the release of WWE 2K15, featuring, for the first time ever in a WWE game, Sting!

Next, commentary takes us to a series of images showing some classic Intercontinental Champions in history. We see Pat Patterson, Mr. Perfect, Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho and finally, the current champion, Dolph Ziggler.

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP IRONMAN MATCH – DOLPH ZIGGLER (C) VS. SHEAMUS; Right from the start, it’s clear that both guys have set themselves up for the long haul. They go into a feeling out process, with neither guy trying to use up too much energy this early on. They go to the mat, where Dolph Ziggler uses his Kent State wrestling background to get in control, only for Sheamus to overpower him and turn things around. The “Celtic Warrior” hits the first big offensive move, with a backbreaker, but only gets a near fall. He starts to beat his chest for the Brogue Kick but Dolph ducks it and rolls him up to take a surprising 1-0 lead after about five minutes. Dolph Ziggler leads 1-0! Sheamus is livid and he gives no time to rest before attacking the champion. “Sheamus is supposed to give a short rest, this isn’t right” exclaims Jerry Lawler. Sheamus just relentlessly pounds on Ziggler and lays into him with the Beats of Bodhran. Sheamus hits some more of his signature moves, but can’t keep Ziggler down for a three. “The Celtic Warrior is growing very frustrated” says Michael Cole. Sheamus even nails the Brogue Kick but Ziggler still manages to kick out. Sheamus grabs the referee and argues but calms a bit when he notices something outside. He goes out and grabs a steel chair, bringing it in. As Ziggler gets up, Sheamus whacks him in the back with it. The official calls for the disqualification at just around the fifteen minute mark. Dolph Ziggler leads 2-0! Sheamus laughs despite the score. He continues to assault Ziggler with the chair, including one devastating blow to the head that busts Dolph open. He tosses Dolph over the top and demands the referee start counting. He reaches the count of ten to countout the champion. Dolph Ziggler leads 2-1! Sheamus smirks as he retrieves Dolph from outside and rolls him inside. Sheamus hoists Dolph up and plants him with the Irish Curse to even the score. The score is tied 2-2! “This is unfair, Dolph is basically unresponsive” says Cole. The dominance continues in unimaginable ways as Sheamus uses White Noise, a Brogue Kick and another countout to take a commanding lead with just under ten minutes remaining. Sheamus leads 5-2! Sheamus looks around at the booing fans and shouts “ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?” He stands the lifeless Ziggler up in the corner and calls for another Brogue Kick. Ziggler is able to find the strength to dodge and roll Sheamus up, with his feet on the ropes for three. Sheamus leads 5-3! Sheamus is again furious and goes back to clubbing the champion. He applies a cloverleaf, looking to get back a point, but Ziggler reaches the ropes. Sheamus goes to pick up Dolph, but Dolph slips behind him and scores with the Zig Zag for three! Sheamus leads 5-4! “Dolph Ziggler is now within a fall” exclaims Lawler. Dolph looks up at the clock, seeing just about two minutes remaining. He tries multiple roll ups, looking to desperately tie things up, but Sheamus is able to kick out consistently. Dolph nails a big superkick that causes Sheamus to stagger with fourteen second left. He bounces off the ropes and takes him down with a huge Fameasser! Dolph crawls to make the cover but Sheamus wisely rolls out of the ring. Dolph frantically reaches for him but the clock expires as he tries to put Sheamus back inside. Sheamus defeats Dolph Ziggler 5-4 to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship in 30:00!

The crowd boos loudly though some are just stunned that Dolph Ziggler came so close to tying this before the time ran out. Sheamus is once again the Intercontinental Champion. Dolph rolls inside and sits down, with his head down. Sheamus brushes off the final moves he took and takes the belt. He raises it in the air, before noticing Dolph inside. He sneaks in and picks up the steel chair. Dolph starts to get up and turns to Sheamus, only to get destroyed with a second vicious chair shot to the head! “THAT WAS UNCALLED FOR” shouts Michael Cole. Sheamus puts the Intercontinental Title on his shoulder and holds up the steel chair, stained with Ziggler’s blood.

We go up to the Pre-Show panel, who discusses what we just witnessed. Renee Young can’t believe the lengths that Sheamus would stoop to. Christian says that it may not be right, but he understands that sometimes a competitor is willing to do anything to win a belt. While they talk, we can see medics coming out to check out Dolph Ziggler and a few of them have to assist him in making it backstage.

An ad airs to hype our next Pay-Per-View/WWE Network special, Hell in a Cell! The show comes to you live on October 26th from Dallas, Texas!

ALEXANDER RUSEV W/ LANA VS. ROB VAN DAM; After Rob Van Dam interrupted the ceremony for Alexander Rusev this past Monday, Rusev is ready to attack. He clobbers RVD in the corner and hammers away. Rusev steps back, lets out a roar and charges, but RVD leaps over him and connects on a back kick that sends him into the turnbuckles. Van Dam hits two shoulder thrusts, does a backflip and hits a third. “Rob Van Dam looks like he’s more than prepared for Alexander Rusev” says John “Bradshaw” Layfield. RVD makes sure to not let up, trying to be the first man to defeat Rusev. He gets Rusev on the mat and hits Rolling Thunder, but can only score a near fall with that. Again, RVD doesn’t want to let up and climbs to the top. He leaps off with a big kick and gets another two count. “Van Dam has made sure that Rusev couldn’t get out of the blocks tonight” says Michael Cole. Van Dam goes up again, but this time Rusev is ready and shoves him off and to the outside, sending RVD right into the guardrail. This gives Rusev time for a breather as RVD struggles to beat the count, but makes it back by the referee reaching eight. Rusev pounces, going after the back of Rob Van Dam. He just pounds on him with clubbing blows and then hits a big swinging side slam. He looks for the Accolade, but Van Dam slips out and runs off the ropes. Unfortunately for him, he runs right into a superkick from Rusev. Lana shouts “CRUSH” and Rusev applies the Accolade to finish this. Alexander Rusev defeats Rob Van Dam in 6:03!

Boos rain down from the sold out crowd as Alexander Rusev stands tall over Rob Van Dam’s lifeless body. Lana enters the ring and refuses to let the official raise Rusev’s hand, demanding to do it herself. Rusev lets out a roar, continuing his dominant run through the WWE since his debut back in April.

A recap is now aired of the special sit-down interview conducted this past Monday with Brock Lesnar. We hear Brock talk about how he is going to brutalize and injure CM Punk. “It’s not just about the WWE World Heavyweight Championship…it’s about hurting CM Punk and teaching him a lesson in respect.” Brock considers himself the most dominant Superstar in WWE history, as evidenced by him ending the streak at WrestleMania and winning the WWE Title. “Look at the year I’ve had. First, I victimized the Big Show, then I conquered the streak and then I won the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Nobody, especially not some little Punk, will stop me.”

As with the previous title matches, we are shown images of past champions. This time, the focus is on the WWE Women’s Championship and we see the Fabulous Moolah, Alundra Blayze, Trish Stratus, Lita and finally, the woman who brought the title back, Paige.

WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – PAIGE (C) VS. NIKKI BELLA; Like her sister earlier, Nikki Bella is alone tonight. Paige looks at ringside, seeing this and smiles. When the bell rings, the girls lock up and Nikki shoves Paige to the mat. Paige is taken aback by this, tries again and gets put down again. Nikki flexes, showing off her strength. When they lock up again, Paige slips behind Nikki and takes her down to the mat, having an advantage there. “Paige would be wise to play to her strengths” says JBL. Nikki and Paige trade the advantage now until Nikki gets on the apron. Paige swings, Nikki ducks and pulls her, back first, onto the top rope. Nikki now focuses on the back of her opponent. She clubs at it and drops her with a side slam and backbreaker. Nikki even stops to do some pushups, continuing to gloat about her strength. “Nikki’s offensive attack is clearly geared toward her setting up for that deadly Rack Attack” says Jerry Lawler. She sets Paige up top, looking for a superplex. Paige fights off with some forearms before knocking her back with multiple headbutts. Before Paige can capitalize, Nikki pounces. She gets under Paige and brings her down with a vicious running powerbomb for a near fall! Nikki Bella can’t believe that wasn’t enough. She holds Paige in place for an Alabama Slam, but Paige slips free and rolls her up for two. As Nikki kicks out, Paige gets up quickly and delivers a kick to the stomach. She hits the Paige Turner but Nikki is able to again get a shoulder up. “This is one of the most tightly contested women’s matches I’ve ever seen” says Michael Cole. Paige looks for the Ram-Paige but Nikki elbows free. Nikki now hoists her up for the Rack Attack but this time it’s Paige who wriggles free, getting behind her and tripping her up. Paige the locks her in the PTO! Nikki tries but there is no hope and she taps. Paige defeats Nikki Bella to retain the WWE Women’s Championship in 8:45!

A roar comes in from the WWE Universe in Nashville as Paige is officially declared the winner and handed her Women’s Championship. Paige has successfully defended that title against everyone thrown in front of her. Both Bella Twins, Natalya, Summer Rae, Emma, Tamina and everyone in between. The cameras cut backstage where AJ Lee is watching as Michael Cole notes that AJ still hasn’t received her rematch from losing the Divas Title back in May.

With only two matches left, we are taken to images of classic Tag Team Champions in history. This list shows us the Legion of Doom, Demolition, the Hardy Boyz, the Dudley Boyz and the current champions, Batista and Randy Orton.

Going backstage, Byron Saxton is now standing by with the number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, CM Punk. Punk stands there in his gear and a grey hoodie, with a determined look on his face. Saxton asks him for his thoughts heading into a match with Brock Lesnar tonight. Punk says that he’s given his thoughts on this match several times over the past few weeks. “I already told everyone what’s going to happen tonight. Last year, I came within an inch of beating Brock Lesnar and that was with me having Paul Heyman on my mind. That’s not the case tonight. Tonight, my sole focus is on the WWE Title that I want back more than anything in the world. I understand the kind of year that Brock Lesnar has had so far, but he needs to understand that when that bell rings tonight, none of it matters.”

Before the next match, a video package airs, showing the title win and dominance of Batista and Randy Orton. Their win over the Usos is shown before they took them out officially the night after. Roman Reigns, the cousin of the Usos, made the save. Back in the crosshairs of the Authority, Reigns was told to choose a partner to face the champions. Instead of picking Dean Ambrose or Seth Rollins, who both wanted to be his partner, he went outside of the Shield and selected John Cena, causing friction within the trio.

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP –BATISTA AND RANDY ORTON (C) VS. JOHN CENA AND ROMAN REIGNS; After the challengers make their entrance, the cameras pick up Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins watching from the stands. The match itself begins with Randy Orton and John Cena, two guys that have faced off more than possibly anyone else in wrestling history. They know each other so well that neither guy gains the upper hand. Roman Reigns gets tagged however, and things change. He overwhelms Orton with his high octane offense, sending the former multi-time World Champion to the corner to tag Batista. “Oh man, the final two men in this year’s Royal Rumble come face to face” says Michael Cole. The crowd buzzes as both men trade right hands. It’s basically a clash of the titans here until Reigns connects on the superman punch! Orton breaks up the pin however, and the tag is made back to Cena. Cena gets a few near falls of his own until a cheap chop block from Batista puts the champions into their comfort zone. “This is where the Tag Team Champions are especially dangerous” says John “Bradshaw” Layfield. Batista and Randy Orton begin to dissect Cena with quick tags and a focus on the neck of the fourteen time World Champion. Cena nearly makes the tag a few times, but the champions are able to successfully cut the ring in half. Reigns tries to get the fans to rally but Cena is in serious trouble. Cena finally is able to score with an Attitude Adjustment on Batista but both men are down following it. The fans can feel it as Cena gets close to his partner. He desperately makes it and Reigns comes in at the same time as Orton. Like he does with the Shield, Reigns is a beast with the hot tag. He enters with high impact offense, taking down Orton several times. He even rolls outside and nails the Drive-By dropkick on a resting Batista. “No man is safe when Roman Reigns gets going” says Jerry Lawler. He gets inside and looks for the superman punch again but Orton catches him with a fantastic RKO in the middle of it! All four men are down when the Director of Operations, Kane, starts walking towards the ring. Ambrose and Rollins now make their way to the ring and cut him off before he can interfere. Cena tags back in and hits the five knuckle shuffle on Orton. He gears up for the AA but Batista hits him into the corner. Reigns staggers up and sees an opening. He runs at Batista, but the “Animal” moves and Reigns takes out Cena with the Spear! Batista clotheslines Reigns to the outside and plants Cena with a Batista Bomb. He drapes Orton’s arm over Cena, which is enough for the victory. Batista and Randy Orton defeat John Cena and Roman Reigns to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship in 14:21!

Batista helps Randy Orton to his feet and they get handed the WWE Tag Team Titles. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins move around the ring to stand with Roman Reigns. The champions exit the ring while the Shield enter. John Cena struggles to his feet and sees the Shield across from him. The crowd senses that something may go down. Cena holds his ribs, goes to Reigns’ face and tells him something that we can’t hear. Cena then backs away and leaves, while the Shield stays in the ring. “Things may not be perfect between Roman Reigns and John Cena, but they look to be mended within the Shield” says Michael Cole.

With our main event looming, images of past WWE Champions are shown. From Hulk Hogan to Bret Hart to Stone Cold Steve Austin to the Rock to CM Punk, tonight’s challenger and lastly, to Brock Lesnar, the current champion.

The final video package airs, set to “Title Fight” by Blitz Kids. It goes all the way back to showing highlights of Brock Lesnar winning the WWE Title back in 2002 and 2003. Then we see CM Punk win multiple WWE Titles, and clips from his legendary 434 day reign as champion. Both men are shown stepping away from the ring for a time before returning. Brock came back as a monster and bested CM Punk in a war at SummerSlam last year. By this year, Punk was gone from the WWE and Brock was breaking the Undertaker’s streak. Punk returned and failed to win Money in the Bank and the WWE Title from Daniel Bryan. While Brock won the belt at SummerSlam, Punk bested Triple H. The following night, Punk challenged Brock, which was quickly accepted by the “Beast.” The video ends by showing clips of their feud over the past few weeks.

WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP – BROCK LESNAR (C) W/ PAUL HEYMAN VS. CM PUNK; Very loud “CM Punk” chants ring throughout the arena as the two gladiators come face to face in the middle of the ring. When the bell rings, Punk takes a swing but Brock ducks and immediately hits a German suplex. “Those are the kinds of suplexes that but Daniel Bryan out of action” says Michael Cole. Punk is already showing signs of being hurt and Brock starts to hop around, enjoying himself. Punk gets to his feet and Brock instantly looks for another German. Punk elbows his way out of it though and fires off some knee strikes. He backs Brock into the corner, but Brock just grabs him and tosses him into the corner. Brock hammers away with rights and left that just pulverize Punk. He pulls Punk out and nails a second German that causes the challenger to roll outside. Paul Heyman looks on with a sadistic smirk as his former client is being victimized. Brock follows to the outside and looks for a German on the floor. “This could end Punk” shouts Jerry Lawler. Punk manages to slip behind him and shove Brock face first into the ring post. Punk doesn’t let up, slamming Brock’s face into the steel steps repeatedly. Once he has Brock down, he then takes a moment to catch his breath. Punk goes back on the attack, firing away with slaps and kicks, including one to the leg that takes Brock to a knee. Punk uses that to nail a DDT. He breaks the count before rolling Brock back inside. He waits on the apron as Brock gets to his feet. Punk springboards in with a clothesline but Brock catches him on his shoulders! He plants Punk with the F5 and covers, but the challenger is able to get his foot on the bottom rope. Brock isn’t stunned or anything like that, but he’s clearly pissed. He picks Punk up for another, but Punk elbows furiously to get free. Punk sends Brock into the corner and follows in with three knees to the jaw and hits a bulldog. A beaten up Punk signals for the Go to Sleep. He struggles to get Brock up, but does and nails the GTS. He covers but Brock just barely gets a shoulder up. Heyman’s ringside reaction is priceless. Punk sees an opening though, picking up Brock and hitting a second GTS but again Brock kicks out. “What does CM Punk have to do to overcome the Beast tonight?” asks Michael Cole. Punk climbs up, calling for the Macho Man tribute elbow but he misses. Brock lifts him from the mat into another German suplex. Brock doesn’t give Punk time to recover, picking him up for two more. The champion senses the end and goes to lift Punk, but gets pulled into a small package for two. Both men are up at the same time but Punk falls back down due to the beating he’s taken. Brock smiles and grabs Punk. He picks him up and hits the second F5 of the night. He covers and it’s finally enough to keep the resilient Punk down. Brock Lesnar defeats CM Punk to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 18:23!

The dominance of Brock Lesnar in 2014 continues. Paul Heyman waddles into the ring to hand Brock his WWE World Heavyweight Championship and raises his hand. Brock looks down at CM Punk, gives a smirk and exits the ring with Heyman. “Brock Lesnar did his job. He doesn’t care about celebrations or accolades, he just cares about winning and making money” says JBL. CM Punk gets assistance from the referee, but looks to be very out of it as the show comes to an end.

- Primetime Players in their first or second match since reuniting as a tag team they beat The Age of Enlightenment (Sandow & Woods) I think it is safe to say that The PTP have found not only their rhythm again as a tag team but that they are really starting to hit their stride again as a team but at least they will be able to make noise in the WWE Tag Team division at least but as for Sandow & Woods I think the best thing for them at this point would be for them to go their separate ways

- Del Rio retaining his WWE United States Championship against Jericho, Barrett, The Miz, Goldust and against Neville in a 6 Pack Challenge Elimination Match I mean Del Rio he has managed to prove that he is not only a fighting champion but also that he simply just finds a way to win no matter how much the odds are stacked against him. He had a 16.6666666% chance of retaining his title I mean that is a less than minimal chance of even walking out WWE United States Champion but he did against all odds and now that he has I mean we can only wonder where Del Rio goes from here?

- Ziggler is ready for the Iron Man Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, he looks confident but will he be able to retain his WWE Intercontinental Championship tonight against Sheamus and especially in a 30-minute Iron Man Match? Iron Man Matches if they have taught us anything it is that they can not only be long but that they can be draining on any competitor especially because in that type of match it is whoever can score the most pinfalls on their opponent and especially when you have a limited amount of time to do it in I mean we are definitely in for a classic tonight here at Night of Champions that's for sure

- AJ Lee beating Brie Bella, I mean we pretty much expected this I mean AJ Lee she has been on a tear ever since coming back from injury I mean she has been winning match after match gaining momentum and tonight proved no different because let's face it Brie Bella she wasn't going to win this match I think we all knew she wouldn't. But at the same time though that being said now that AJ Lee has gotten one Bella out of her way I wonder if this means AJ Lee can finally get her rematch for the WWE Women's Championship? I mean technically her rematch should be for the WWE Divas Championship but since that title is no longer existent anymore and the WWE Women's Championship is then AJ Lee in her career she has never been WWE Women's Champion so for her to challenge for that title a title that actually has more prestige it actually makes her going after it mean more worth a damn.

- Sting debuting in the WWE 2K15 video game hopefully this means Sting will be debuting in the WWE soon I sure as hell hope so

- Sheamus once again becoming WWE Intercontinental Champion beating Ziggler in the Iron Man Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship I was expecting a more grueling match in the sense that it would be more back and forth but it wasn't. I mean Sheamus he pretty much dominated the Iron Man Match even though at the beginning it was back and forth but then under controversial circumstances he took a commanding lead but then after that Ziggler mounting a comeback and getting pinfall after pinfall now that I wasn't expecting but then seeing Ziggler come up short in his comeback to tie the Iron Man Match and send it into overtime which is what I was hoping for but to see it not happen well I kind of felt let down. I felt let done because I wanted to see this match go longer in the sense of overtime but then to see Sheamus walk out champion I definitely was not expecting that either because I was expecting Ziggler to be quite honest to retain. However, post-match seeing Sheamus lay out Ziggler the way he did and leaving him a bloody mess I think it is safe to say that this rivalry for the WWE Intercontinental Championship will continue at least I think it will and if it does then it will continue into the Hell in a Cell PPV.

- Hell in a Cell, one of my favorite PPVs coming up, can't wait

- Seeing Rusev beat RVD here to keep his undefeated streak in tact I mean we all knew Rusev was going to go over in this match I mean let's be honest RVD probably isn't sticking around for all that much longer anyway so to see Rusev beat him didn't really come as a shock but more or less was to be expected. With that being said though I think Rusev will stay undefeated and now that he is still undefeated I see Rusev setting his sights on the WWE United States Championship sooner rather than later.

- That Brock Lesnar interview...such a badass interview and after that I mean Brock Lesnar definitely has to be feeling confident heading into tonight's main event here at WWE Night of Champions well considering Lesnar is defending his title against Punk and the last time they were in the ring together in a match Lesnar won so will history repeat itself tonight here at NOC?

- Paige retaining her WWE Divas Championship against Nikki Bella, I mean Paige keeps finding ways to win I mean it is like ever since she has become WWE Women's Champion ever since she brought back the WWE Women's Championship I mean Paige has literally become the face of the WWE divas division beating diva after diva to retain her title I mean she has proven that she is a fighting champion over and over again. However, with AJ Lee and Paige I mean it is pretty much inevitable now that these 2 will face off and if and when they do that that title will definitely be on the line. Hell in a Cell PPV perhaps with Paige defending her WWE Women's Championship against AJ Lee?

- Batista & Orton retaining their WWE Tag Team Championships against Cena & Reigns, now this result I definitely expected just like how I expected that Cena & Reigns would lose off of some miscommunication and I was right. Batista & Orton pretty much took advantage of the miscommunication and capitalized on it in order to stay WWE Tag Team Champions even though they looked like they were on the verge of losing but with Cena & Reigns now that they are no longer a team I was expecting Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose the 3 of them to turn on Cena and beat the holy hell out of him.

- And main event time, Lesnar defends his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk and Lesnar retains. Lesnar retaining was not a shock but what was a shock was seeing just how evenly matched this match was because most of Brock's matches he is always dominating his opponents with suplex after suplex move after move but seeing Punk hold his own here against Lesnar but ultimately coming up short I mean after this it begs the question of where Punk goes from here? Better yet where does Brock go from here?

- I can't see Brock working the WWE Hell in A Cell PPV so Brock if he takes time off then what happens to any main event matches for Hell in a Cell?

The COO of the WWE, Triple H, has just made a massive announcement. In a move that will change the landscape of the WWE over the next few months, the "Survival Trials" will begin tonight on Raw! The "Survival Trials" will be a giant 12 man round robin tournament. The tournament will run from tonight on Raw all the way until November 9th. All 12 WWE Superstars involved will face each other at least once. Winning a match gets you two points, a draw gets you one and a loss gets you zero. After everyone faces each other, the two men with the most points will meet in the finals, with the winner earning a WWE Title shot against Brock Lesnar at the Survivor Series! Matches will take place on Raw, Main Event, Smackdown and WWE live events! The matches on the live events will be streamed on the WWE Network! The participants will be announced throughout the remainder of the day on the official WWE Twitter account!

12 men in Survival Trials, I mean how appropriate of a tournament name? This tournament in a sense reminds me sort of like TNA's Bound for Glory series in the sense that if you win a match you get points but if you draw a match you only get a point and if you lose your match you get no points. The winner of this gets a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. How appropriate that you name this tournament Survivor Trials considering we are almost headed to Survivor Series.

The 12 men are Neville, WWE United States Champion Del Rio, Mr. Money in the Bank & Authority member Wade Barrett, Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose of The Shield, John Cena, The Miz, Roman Reigns of The Shield, Seth Rollins of The Shield, WWE Intercontinental Champion and Authority member Sheamus and the final member of the Survival Trials tournament is going to be an NXT superstar I already know who I am voting for, I vote for one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens

However, whoever wins Survival Trials they will be the ultimate loser and why? Because they would have to go up against a Beast, not a man a Beast and everyone knows what Lesnar is capable of this is the man who ended The Undertaker's 21-0 WrestleMania undefeated streak doing what no other man in history has done a man who victimized John Cena and Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion a man who victimized CM Punk at Night of Champions to stay champion

Whoever wins this tournament they are going to have to deal with Brock one way or the other when they face him for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series

Historic NXT Women's Championship match announced!
We already know that Paige and AJ Lee are going to have the third match in their series to headline the first ever Divas Smackdown on October 3rd. However, we have breaking news. After their spectacular encounter at TakeOver: R-Evolution got rave reviews, fans have been clamoring for a rematch between NXT Women's Champion Charlotte and Sasha Banks. Sasha laid down the challenge to Charlotte and even though Charlotte bested her at TakeOver, the fighting champion accepted. NXT General Manager William Regal managed to pull some strings and the bout has been set for Divas Smackdown! That's right, for the first time ever, an NXT Title will be defended outside of the confines of Winter Park, Florida. The ladies get the big stage as this event is sure to feature the most fans to ever witness an NXT match live!

Monday Night Raw: September 22nd, 2014 – FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee

After the WWE Signature flashes across the screen, we are shown a video package that recaps Night of Champions last night. The focal point is on the double main event for the WWE Tag Team and WWE World Heavyweight Titles. This is followed by the “Tonight is the Night” opening video. Michael Cole, Jerry “The King” Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield introduce the episode. They remind us of the major announcement from earlier today, where Triple H introduced the “Survival Trials” and remind us that John Cena will face the Miz in the first tournament match.

The fans give a mixed reaction as the music of Triple H hits and he steps through the curtain. Triple H walks down to the ring and grabs a microphone, welcoming the audience to a historic edition of Monday Night Raw. “There have been over 1,000 episodes and none have featured something like what was announced earlier today.” He gives a rundown of the rules of the Survival Trials for those who missed the news on wwe.com. He explains that it is a giant round robin tournament that will span nearly two months. Each win will earn a Superstar two points while a draw gets them one and a loss will leave them with zero. He also mentions that matches will take place on episodes of Raw, Main Event, Smackdown and WWE live events that are streamed on the WWE Network. “Of course, the most important part of all of this are the participants. Twelve of the very best that this business have to offer will take part in this. However, since the names were announced, I have received a flood of tweets asking about some of the people left off. Many members of the WWE Universe are upset at not seeing CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. I understand you guys. The reason they weren’t included is because Daniel is still injured and Punk just had a title shot last night and it was only fair that I gave others a chance. This had nothing to do with my past with either man. I mean, two of the men that I’m closest to in this business, Batista and Randy Orton, also didn’t make the list and neither did the Director of Operations, Kane. Lastly, I was also asked about Dolph Ziggler and he’s a similar case to Bryan. After the events of last night, we are unsure about his condition, so it didn’t make sense to include him.” Michael Cole points out that he feels like Triple H’s decisions about this tournament seem fair. He finishes by saying that tonight is about what goes in between these ropes and he doesn’t want to waste anymore of our time, citing that the tournament begins now! Out comes John Cena to a mixed reaction. He stops on his way to the ring, staring down Triple H. Triple H extends his hand and Cena shakes it before continuing to the ring.

Returning, we see Triple H walking backstage when Stephanie McMahon comes up to him. She gives him a flabbergasted look that confuses him. She complains that Triple H went and set this whole Survival Trials thing up and didn’t discuss it with her. “In case you forgot, I’m one of the principle owners of this company. My last name is McMahon.” Triple H tells her to calm down and says that he didn’t purposely exclude her. “I just got to discussing it with the Board of Directors and your dad and we all thought it was a good idea.” The fans pop at the mention of Stephanie’s dad. Stephanie still isn’t pleased but drops it for now.

SURVIVAL TRIALS MATCH: JOHN CENA VS. THE MIZ W/ SUMMER RAE; Here we have two men who know each other well and have even headlined a WrestleMania together. Cena is still clearly feeling the effects of the Spear he accidentally took last night. Miz targets the midsection, going after it with each chance that he gets. Cena is determined and wants to earn another shot at the WWE Title in the worst way. Miz slips free of Cena’s Attitude Adjustment attempt and looks for the Skull Crushing Finale. Cena blocks that and trips up Miz, locking in the STF. He makes Miz submit to become the first man to two points. John Cena defeats the Miz in 7:32!

John Cena quickly gets to his feet, still holding his ribs though, and celebrates the historic first win in the history of the Survival Trials. The fans cheer for the win and Cena poses for them while Summer Rae helps the Miz roll out of the ring. “No rest for the victor though as we’ve just been informed that John Cena’s second match of the Survival Trials will take place this Saturday at a WWE live event in Atlantic City. His opponent? The WWE Intercontinental Champion Sheamus!” says Michael Cole.

As we return, we hear from Cody Rhodes who is backstage. He says that being chosen to take part in the Survival Trials is an honor. “Once I got through with my brother, I told everyone that I was coming for Championship gold. You all saw me watching the Six Pack Challenge closely last night, but now I have a chance to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.” Cody says that he is going to live up to the “Prince of Pro Wrestling” name and capture the big one.

A quick recap of still images reminds every one of the Divas action that happened at Night of Champions. AJ Lee bested Brie Bella just before Paige retained the Women’s Championship against Nikki, making it a very unsuccessful night for the Bella Twins.

ALICIA FOX, NAOMI AND NATALYA VS. THE BELLA TWINS AND CAMERON; Judging by the look on her face, you can tell that Naomi wants nothing more than to get her hands on her former Funkadactyls partner, Cameron. Wisely though, Cameron is sure to avoid confrontation, quickly tagging out when faced with the possibility. The Bella Twins seem to be in a bad mood after their losses last night and take it out on their opponents. Nikki Bella drops Alicia Fox with the Rack Attack, scoring the win. The Bella Twins and Cameron defeat Alicia Fox, Naomi and Natalya in 3:14!

A chorus of boos is heard from the WWE Universe in Memphis. The Bella Twins don’t really celebrate, still looking to be in a foul mood after coming up short in both matches they had at Night of Champions. Cameron doesn’t get to celebrate either as Naomi goes after her, chasing her up the ramp and to the back.

Much like Cody Rhodes earlier, we are taken to some words from Adrian Neville about the Survival Trials. He admits that September hasn’t been too kind to him after losing the NXT Championship, his rematch for it and then not winning the WWE United States Championship last night. However, he isn’t someone that stays down. “I always get back up because I am the man that gravity forgot and I will win the Survival Trials.” Neville promises to be the first man to win both the NXT Championship and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

It is after this promo that Michael Cole tells us that our main event has just been announced. Tonight, in a Survival Trials match, two Shield members will collide for the very first time. Dean Ambrose goes one on one with Seth Rollins in our main event!

Renee Young is standing by with Alexander Rusev and Lana. Rusev looks to be in a pissed off mood and Renee says that Lana requested this time. Lana confirms that Rusev is indeed pissed. She claims that it is a travesty that he wasn’t chosen to be part of the Survival Trials. “It is clear to us that the WWE Board of Directors isn’t happy with Alexander Rusev crushing all of their precious legends.” Lana declares that even though Rusev wasn’t given a spot in the tournament, there will be gold around his waist sooner than we all think.

BIG E VS. BRODUS CLAY; The crowd pops loudly for the return of Big E. We haven’t seen him since this past July at the Live in Osaka WWE Network special. He quickly clotheslines Brodus Clay down, showing that his arm has fully healed. As we all know, Clay is no small competitor, but Big E is one freak of nature when it comes to power. He hoists Brodus up in ways that probably shouldn’t even be possible. He hits the Big Ending for the finish. Big E defeats Brodus Clay in 3:07!

The fans cheer the returning win for Big E. Big E isn’t satisfied with the win though, requesting a five count from the official. The confused referee doesn’t do it so Big E looks at the crowd and holds up five fingers. He counts it himself, with some of the fans doing it along with him. “I’m not sure what that was about but one thing is clear, Big E is back with a vengeance” says Michael Cole.

The brand new WWE Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus, makes his way out to the ring, carrying the bloody steel chair from last night. As he does, we are reminded of what he did to Dolph Ziggler during their Ironman match last night. He left Ziggler as a bloody mess before leaving with the Intercontinental Title back around his waist. Michael Cole tells us that Dolph is not cleared to compete and is being tested for a possible concussion. Sheamus has a huge grin as he enters the ring and asks the fans if they are entertained. “I told all of you that Dolph Ziggler’s win at SummerSlam was a fluke. The minute I got my rematch, not only did I win this back, but I put little Dolph on the shelf. If he ever comes back, I’m sure he knows to stay away from me.” Sheamus holds up the bloody steel chair, reminding everyone that it has Dolph’s blood all over it. The music of Triple H plays as the COO steps through the curtain for the second time tonight. He congratulates Sheamus on winning the Intercontinental Title once again. “Tonight however, our focus is on the Survival Trials. Your opponent in your first match of the tournament will be the member of the NXT roster that the fans voted for. First things first, let’s bring these men out.” Triple H introduces the most recent member of the NXT roster to choose from, one half of the Tag Team Champions, Kevin Owens. For the first time ever, Kevin Owens walks out onto the Raw stage to a fairly positive reaction. He next introduces Sami Zayn, the other half of the Tag Team Champions, who gets a very loud ovation from the fans. Sami pats Kevin on the back and stands next to him. “Now, the final option for you all is the current NXT Champion, Corey Graves!” He walks out with the NXT Title around his waist, shooting dirty looks to the Tag Team Champions. Jerry Lawler reminds us that we saw Corey on Raw a few weeks back in a tag match before TakeOver.

Triple H speaks, “The names of these three Superstars were released earlier today and since then, you, the WWE Universe, has been able to cast your votes for who gets this tremendous opportunity.” He gives each guy a chance to address the fans before the final votes are cast. Kevin Owens speaks first, telling the fans that they may not know him, but they should. “You see, Sami here is my best friend. You all seem to like him but don’t forget that he was unable to win gold in NXT until he made a phone call to me.” The fans give a mixed reaction to that and even Sami Zayn is taken aback. He speaks, saying that it is a dream to be on Raw right now. While winning NXT gold has been his goal this year, winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title is the ultimate dream and if he’s chosen, he guarantees to make history and shut up guys like Sheamus. Obviously, this causes Sheamus to give a slight smirk and he raises the chair again, pointing at Sami. Corey Graves gets to speak last and says that nothing the other two men said matters. “You want to know why you should vote for me? Look no further than what’s around my waist.” Graves points to the NXT Title and says that having that makes him the best that NXT has to offer. He mentions that he’s already beaten someone in the Survival Trials, Adrian Neville, twice. He closes by telling the rest of the participants to STAY DOWN, with the camera zooming in on the tattoos on his knuckles.

The fans were given the length of the commercial break to cast their final votes. Triple H points up to the Titantron as the results come in. Corey Graves finishes with 27% of the votes and Kevin Owens also finishes with the same 27%. Sami Zayn wins with a whopping 46%! Sami is excited as he heads down to the ring. Both Graves and Owens look pretty pissed at the results.

SURVIVAL TRIALS – SAMI ZAYN VS. SHEAMUS; There is a buzz in the crowd as Sami Zayn enters the ring. Sheamus clearly took some of his words to heart though and instantly attacks. He just hammers away on Zayn in the corner. Assaults like this are the theme of the bout. Each time it looks like Zayn is going to catch lightning in a bottle, Sheamus is there to knock him on his ass. He shouts “ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?” to a chorus of boos. He grabs Sami but gets pulled into an inside cradle for a near fall. Now, Sami picks up momentum, getting in some of the moves that are now famous in NXT. The fans are wowed by some of Sami’s offense. He surprises everyone when he can get Sheamus up for the Blue Thunder Bomb, though he can only score two. He manages to get Sheamus locked in the Koji Clutch, but the “Celtic Warrior” reaches the ropes. He comes back and calls for the Brogue Kick as Sami gets up in the corner. Sheamus kicks and Sami ducks. Sheamus’ leg gets caught on the top rope. Zayn runs to the opposite corner and then back, connecting on the Helluva Kick as Sheamus gets free and suffers the loss. Sami Zayn defeats Sheamus in 13:30!

“Oh my god! Sami Zayn has just beaten the Intercontinental Champion” exclaims Michael Cole. Sami Zayn can’t even believe as the crowd goes nuts. He takes his NXT Tag Team Title and celebrates a win in his Raw debut, as well as two points in the Survival Trials! He quickly exits the ring, which is wise because Sheamus starts to come to and when he realizes what happened, he is livid.

After a break, we hear from the WWE United States Champion Alberto Del Rio. He talks about the fact that besides Chris Jericho and John Cena, who have both been in the WWE for over a decade, he has the most World Titles of everyone in the tournament. “That means that I know what it takes to be at the top. Since I refocused myself a few months ago, I’ve gone on to great things, like this United States Title.” Del Rio claims that he will win the Tournament because nobody can escape the Cross Armbreaker.

Backstage, we see the office of the Authority. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are still clearly not on good terms as they are on opposite sides of the room. The WWE Tag Team Champions, Batista and Randy Orton, enter, seemingly just arriving at the arena. They get right in Triple H’s face, questioning why they were left out of the Survival Trials. Triple H tries to calm them down, saying that their focus needs to be on the tag team division and those titles. “You know what? If you guys are in such a foul mood, take it out on a tag team in an actual tag team match later tonight.” They aren’t pleased, but step back, saying they will. Bad News Barrett steps into the picture, asking Triple H who his first match will be against and when it will take place. Triple H tells him that it will be this Friday on Smackdown against Roman Reigns. Barrett looks a bit worried, but changes to a more confident face. “I beat Roman Reigns already this year, it shouldn’t be too hard to do it again.” He then tells Stephanie that he thinks Reigns should have a warmup match tonight. She looks at Triple H and agrees to put Reigns in the ring with the Big Show. Barrett gives a hearty laugh and leaves. Steph tells Triple H that she can make decisions without consulting him too. He says he’s fine with what she did and leaves as well.

THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS VS. RYBAXEL; Less than 24 hours ago, the Prime Time Players picked up the biggest win since their return. On the Kickoff Show, they defeated the Age of Enlightenment. Here, they are in trouble because Rybaxel are certainly tough opponents. Ryback especially is in a pumped up mood, going toe to toe with the powerful Titus O’Neil. Things turn sour for Rybaxel when Darren Young catches Curtis Axel with some big offense. He tags to Titus, who hits the Clash of the Titus, ending this. The Prime Time Players defeat Rybaxel in 5:11!

After the match, the look on Ryback’s face seems to indicate that he is pissed about another loss for Rybaxel. The Prime Time Players get the crowd to do the “millions of dollars” dance along with them.

The Shield is shown backstage, cutting one of their old school handheld camera promos. Roman Reigns speaks first, saying that tonight, he’s going to run through the Big Show and it’s onto Bad News Barrett this Friday. Seth Rollins goes next, saying that people have been questioning the unity of the Shield. “We showed last night that, just like in the past, through thick and thin, we stay strong.” Dean Ambrose chimes in last, saying they realize what the Survival Trials mean. “We know that we’re all going to have to face each other at some point. Hell, tonight, it’s me and Seth. Seth, you’re my brotha, but I’m coming at you with everything I’ve got tonight.” Seth says he wouldn’t have it any other way. Roman ends things, declaring that the man facing Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series will be one of the three members of the Shield. “Believe that.”

Cutting to the ring, the crowd comes to their feet for the arrival of the WWE Women’s Champion, Paige. She walks to the ring as commentary reminds us of her win against Nikki Bella last night. Paige enters the ring and grabs a microphone, addressing the fans. She thanks them for their support since her debut and for getting behind her and what she’s done in bringing back the Women’s Championship. “I’ve grown tired of seeing girls like the Bella Twins try and pass off what they do as legitimate. I didn’t become a professional wrestler so I could be a Diva. Neither did Trish Stratus, neither did Bull Nakano and neither did AJ Lee. Speaking of AJ Lee, you all saw her beat little Brie Bella last night. I also think you all remember Extreme Rules this year.” Paige directs us to the Titantron, where we see AJ Lee defeat Paige via submission at Extreme Rules when Paige passed out. Paige reminds us that AJ Lee wanted to make Paige tap or pin her shoulders for a three count, so they had a rematch in England. We see the footage of Paige winning the Divas Championship in her home country in front of her mother. “The reason I bring all of this up is because AJ Lee is someone that I would like to bring out to the ring right now.”

Paige doesn’t have to wait long as AJ Lee is skipping to the ring within a few seconds. She skips around it before entering with a microphone. Before Paige can speak, AJ says that she doesn’t take kindly to being called out. “The only reason I’m out here is because I have something to say to you.” Paige opens the door for her to say it and AJ says that she’s glad that footage was shown. “It shows that I’ve beaten you once and you’ve beaten me once in two of the greatest women’s matches in WWE history. I respect the hell out of you and what you’ve done by bringing that title back. But make no mistake…I don’t like you. So I’m laying down the challenge right now. I want my rematch. Paige and AJ Lee. The tiebreaker.” The crowd buzzes as Paige actually smirks. She admits that is actually what she wanted AJ out here for. “I knew that once you came back you’d want your title shot. That’s not enough for me though. I want to make more history. So, on October 3rd, at Divas Smackdown, let’s do this in the main event!” The crowd pops as Paige extends her hand. AJ shakes it but pulls Paige close in and mutters something to her. Paige gives a smug smirk and pats her title before walking off. Paige vs. AJ Lee III is set for Divas Smackdown in under two weeks!

BIG SHOW VS. ROMAN REIGNS; Roman Reigns is out with none of his Shield partners. Bad News Barrett strolls out with his Money in the Bank briefcase to join commentary for this. Big Show is more aggressive than usual here, pummeling away at Reigns. This really makes Barrett happy since there is now a good chance Roman won’t be 100% for their match this Friday night on Smackdown. Reigns is not one to stay down though and overcomes the odds of the giant he’s facing. He reels off some high octane offense and scores with the Spear to win. Roman Reigns defeats Big Show in 6:29!

Roman Reigns is announced as the winner, to the delight of the audience. Bad News Barrett is clearly displeased at this result. Reigns puts his fist out and then in the direction of Barrett, making it clear that he’s coming for him this Thursday.

Returning, we are told that another match from the first set of Survival Trials matches has been announced. Tomorrow night, exclusively on the WWE Network, Adrian Neville will go one on one with Chris Jericho! This leads to Chris Jericho talking backstage about the tournament. He admits that things haven’t exactly gone his way since his return after losses to Alexander Rusev and then failing to win the United States Title at Night of Champions. He promises to make good on this run in the WWE and become a seven time World Champion.

Big Show is on his way up the ramp when the music of Bo Dallas plays. He’s had his fair share of issues with Big Show over the past few months. He has a microphone and he stops to tell the Big Show that he comes in peace. “Show. You are the World’s Largest Athlete. You shouldn’t be losing matches like this. Never fear though, Bo is here. I guarantee you that if you just do your best to Bolieve, you will start to win matches.” Bo continues on as Big Show actually seems to be pondering what Bo said.

BO DALLAS VS. KOFI KINGSTON; Since his team with Rob Van Dam went their separate ways, Kofi Kingston has struggled to find his footing. Meanwhile, Bo Dallas is in the midst of a pretty solid first few months on the main roster, including a win over the Big Show. Kingston uses his quickness and athleticism to gain the upper hand and scores a very close near fall with the SOS. Kofi starts to clap, signaling for Trouble in Paradise. Bo ducks it and rolls Kofi up, stealing a victory. Bo Dallas defeats Kofi Kingston in 4:36!

Bo Dallas quickly rolls out of the ring and begins to do a lap around it, shouting “I DID IT!” Kofi Kingston looks very frustrated in the ring. “Bo Dallas told Big Show to Bolieve. He won tonight and Show didn’t, maybe he should take his advice” says John “Bradshaw” Layfield.

We are now taken to a hype video to promote the WWE Network. With Hell in a Cell on the horizon, spend the month of October reliving some of the greatest Hell in a Cell matches in history. Catch classic shows like King of the Ring 1998, In Your House: Badd Blood, WrestleMania 28 and past Hell in a Cell Pay-Per-Views. Also, just being added are WWE Countdown: Greatest Hell in a Cell matches, plus a brand new Legends of Wrestling Roundtable featuring Jim Ross, Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels and Triple H!

NON-TITLE MATCH: BATISTA AND RANDY ORTON VS. LOS MATADORES W/ EL TORITO; Poor Los Matadores. They are a very solid, high flying tag team, but when two pissed off future Hall of Famers are standing across from you, there isn’t much you can do. The Tag Team Champions are especially violent here, tossing Los Matadores around like rag dolls. They hit their finishers on each member once and pin them, making an emphatic point. Batista and Randy Orton defeat Los Matadores in 3:26!

The Tag Team Champions seemed to be toying with Los Matadores in that match. Not satisfied, Batista grabs El Torito as the crowd boos. Randy Orton kicks the tiny bull in the face before Batista picks him up for a gorilla press slam. He then launches little Torito all the way out onto the announce table in a sickening display.

Before our main event, we get reminded that John Cena beat the Miz earlier tonight and then Sami Zayn shocked the world by defeating the Intercontinental Champion Sheamus for two points in his Raw debut. Tomorrow, Adrian Neville faces Chris Jericho and we already know that Roman Reigns meets Bad News Barrett on Smackdown. Also, this Friday on Smackdown, the United States Champion Alberto Del Rio steps into the ring with the “Prince of Pro Wrestling” Cody Rhodes in the final match in the first set of Survival Trials bouts!

SURVIVAL TRIALS – DEAN AMBROSE VS. SETH ROLLINS; There is an interesting feel around this match as the fans have never see these two square off. We get a pre-match handshake and they go into a feeling out process. During this, Dean Ambrose locks in a half crab and can be heard saying “I’ll break it brother. I’ll break it for the title.” Seth Rollins turns things around and applies an arm submission before basically telling Dean the same thing, showing how important this tournament is. They are incredibly evenly matched, knowing each other’s offense, while also trying to exploit the weaknesses of their opponent. During the match, Roman Reigns comes down through the crowd to get a closer look at this battle of brothers. Seth hits the Buckle Bomb and has Dean prepped for the Curb Stomp. He stops for a moment though, unsure if he should pull out such a vicious move. He decides to try it, but the hesitation allows Ambrose to dodge it and hit Dirty Deeds, scoring the 1-2-3! Dean Ambrose defeats Seth Rollins in 18:15!

Dean Ambrose is helped to his feet as the crowd cheers. Roman Reigns enters the ring to congratulate him as he is the first Shield member to earn two points. Dean doesn’t celebrate for too long, looking to assist Seth Rollins to his feet. Seth gets up and backs away as there is clearly some tension at the outcome. Roman kind of mediates things and puts his fist out. Dean puts his with Roman and they both look at a disappointed Seth. He looks around as the crowd chants “Yes!” Seth puts his fist in with his brothers. Even with everything that has happened as of late, the Shield stand united.

- Survival Trials being introduced to the WWE Universe, I mean I still think that it is an interesting concept well it is let's be honest and to see Triple H the COO kick it off introducing it to us all and explaining the rules of it was a pretty good way to start the show off. I mean 12 superstars but only 1 will be the #1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after it is all said and done. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss I mean that's pretty straightforward if you ask me. However, whoever wins this Survival Trials tournament will be making history. The winner will be putting themselves into the history books but also in that vain whoever wins this Survival Trials they should know just what they are up against...that being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar at WWE Survivor Series in the main event. Triple H explaining why superstars like Bryan, Punk, Ziggler, Batista and even Orton are not in it and I think the COO's reasons for all those superstars being excluded makes perfect sense whether we want to agree with it or not.

- Stephanie she isn't happy that her husband Triple H made this Survival Trials tournament without consulting her, well Stephanie your husband Triple H is the COO of this company so he doesn't have to consult you on certain matters but then again Stephanie is one of the principal owners so I can see why she isn't happy but at the same time Stephanie needs to realize that it was ultimately her father Vince's call but also the call of the WWE Board of Directors so she has to learn to live with it

- John Cena getting on the Survival Trials board winning his match earning 2 points against The Miz which in my opinion was a hard fought match. Cena has 2 points to start off this tournament and honestly Cena has to be one of the favorites to win it all as far as Survival Trials goes. Miz of course with 0 points right now but that could always change but Cena he seems like a man on a mission as far as Survival Trials goes but then again there are 11 other men in this tournament who want the exact same thing Cena wants and that is to win this tournament and go on to WWE Survivor Series but whoever wins this tournament will be the ultimate loser because they will have to go up against Paul Heyman's remorseless unrepentant beast the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Cena's second match in the Survival Trials tournament being this Saturday and he is facing none other than Authority member the WWE Intercontinental Champion Sheamus which will be no easy task but Cena has beaten Sheamus in the past but also Sheamus he has beaten Cena in the past too so to see that rivalry be renewed in this tournament I can't wait to see them go at it. Could Cena win on Saturday and go up to 4 points? Or will Sheamus get on the board and earn 2 points?

- Cody Rhodes, the Prince of Pro Wrestling nickname I mean after this nickname I wonder if this will be the beginning of a character change for Cody Rhodes? By that I mean will Cody basically turn heel and become a cocky, arrogant, conceited, self-centered heel? I mean if he says he is all too determined to become a champion and that is the nickname given to him it basically screams heel if you ask me

- The Bella Twins and Cameron beating Alicia Fox, Naomi and Natalya in 6 Diva Tag Team action well I mean The Bella Twins obviously can't be in a good mood considering last night at Night of Champions Nikki failed in her quest to become WWE Women's Champion by losing to Paige the WWE Women's Champion but also her sister Brie lost to AJ Lee last night. But The Bella Twins more or less bounced back after their respective losses but at the same time this further escalates Naomi and Cameron's rivalry at least because Cameron at least for the moment she has managed to get one over on Naomi. As for Alicia Fox and Natalya well they obviously need something to do so there's that. But it seems like the Divas division sure seems to be heating up that's for sure.

- Could Neville make history by becoming the first man to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion after being NXT Champion? I mean it would be a first if that were to happen but in this Survival Trials tournament Neville he is a wild card that's for sure because he is a relative newcomer on the scene but it all depends on who he faces

- Shield members Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a Survival Trials main event with one another I mean I can't wait to see these 2 go at it but whoever wins this match it is bound to bring further tension within The Shield that's for sure

- Rusev wants championship gold and Lana warning us all that it will happen sooner than we all think...then either Rusev will set his sights on the WWE Intercontinental Championship or on the WWE United States Championship because that is the only thing that makes sense at this point especially considering that Survival Trials is ongoing and it is for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender's spot

- Big E in his return beating Brodus Clay, I mean Big E he has been on the shelf for a while now and to see him come back after all this time I mean Big E looked great in his return. I wonder if Big E will be using the "5 Count" in all of his matches from now on? Big E beating Brodus Clay who is a giant in this ring and Big E beating him in relatively dominant fashion I mean could we be seeing a push for Big E. perhaps?

- Sheamus Authority member and WWE Intercontinental Champion celebrating his title win I mean he did win back the WWE Intercontinental Championship by beating Dolph Ziggler in the 30-Minute Iron Man Match but the way Sheamus beat Ziggler though I mean he did it under controversial circumstances to say the least. I mean Sheamus did brutalize Ziggler to take a commanding lead using a steel chair to do it and holding the steel chair that he used last night to brutalize Ziggler with him to the ring to gloat I mean how can Sheamus not gloat? Ziggler fought valiantly and could have almost come back to tie the Iron Man Match but it wasn't meant to be because he wasn't in any shape to do so and honestly after that I wonder if that was the last we see of Ziggler at least for a while? Sheamus being interrupted by his fellow Authority member the COO Triple H who then brings out Sheamus' competition that being the NXT Champion Corey Graves and the NXT Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn and how there would be a vote to determine who would face Sheamus in Survival Trials but who would also be the 12th man in this tournament and Zayn winning the vote I am in shock

- With Sami Zayn one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions winning the vote no doubt after this Kevin Owens KO he is definitely turning on Sami Zayn KO is definitely turning heel on Sami I see it happening and Corey Graves let's face it he wasn't going to win the vote much less be in this tournament even though he should be because he is the NXT Champion and Zayn is not

- Sami Zayn one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions beating the WWE Intercontinental Champion Sheamus in an upset, Zayn beating Sheamus has got to be considered an upset and not to mention the way Zayn beat Sheamus he beat him cleanly right in the middle of the ring 1...2...3 and Zayn hit his finisher on Sheamus. Zayn hit the Helluva Kick and as soon as he hits that there is no getting up from that but surely Sheamus has to be embarrassed I mean he lost to an NXT guy a rookie no less in this business while Sheamus is a veteran he is an Authority member and he got embarrassed by Sami Zayn. I wonder if Sheamus will ever be able to live that down? I mean he has Cena on Saturday but still I mean to lose to a guy like Zayn especially for a guy like Sheamus is pretty embarrassing. I wonder if by doing this if Zayn has made a mortal enemy out of Sheamus the WWE Intercontinental Champion? Zayn by doing this I mean he will eventually be in the crosshairs of The Authority I mean it is inevitable.

- Del Rio he has to be considered a favorite too in this Survival Trials tournament and considering he is already the WWE United States Champion but also Del Rio is a former Royal Rumble Match winner, Money in the Bank Ladder Match winner, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion the man has virtually done it all and if he could win this tournament he would go on to Survivor Series to face the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and if by some miracle he beat Lesnar Del Rio would make history by becoming the first man to become WWE United States Champion and WWE World Heavyweight Champion simultaneously at the same time but I wonder who Del Rio's opponent will be?

- No doubt Batista & Orton the WWE Tag Team Champions are pissed that they are not in the Survival Trials tournament because let's face it Batista and Orton should be in this tournament they are former WWE World Heavyweight Champions in their own right future WWE first ballot Hall of Famers and the fact that they are not in it is a travesty but Bad News Barrett another Authority member who just happens to be Mr. Money in the Bank he doesn't even need to be in this tournament and why? He has that briefcase and he can cash it in whenever wherever to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion and considering Bad News is in this tournament he has to be considered a favorite and considering he is an Authority Guy how can he not be? Barrett's first opponent in Survival Trials is none other than Shield member Roman Reigns and that match will happen on Smackdown this Thursday I can't wait

- The Prime Time Players beating Rybaxel I mean it is safe to say that Ryback's losing streak continues and the fact that he has just been losing match after match after match I think it is safe to say Ryback at this point he should just turn back babyface because as a heel he is going nowhere. Maybe if Ryback could turn babyface again he could become the Ryback of 2012 to early 2013 now that Ryback now that version of Ryback was not only dominant he was a monster he was a freak of nature and if Ryback can find that guy again he can be successful. As for The PTP I can see them setting their sights on the WWE Tag Team Championship.

- The Shield I mean they look like they are united but how long can that really last? I mean especially in this Survival Trials tournament I mean only one of these 3 men can be WWE World Heavyweight Champion and I know all 3 of them want to be champion so that could be the seeds for the beginning of the end of The Shield as far as their destruction as far as their break-up and Survival Trials will do it.

- Paige vs AJ Lee III the tie-breaker to determine who becomes WWE Women's Champion and it being on Divas Smackdown no doubt that that will be the main event but also I wonder if somehow that match will be ruined? I mean I could see bare divas interfering in that match causing either a No Contest or a Double Count Out or a Double DQ

- Roman Reigns beating Big Show, I mean whatever The Authority's plan was to soften Roman Reigns up before his match with Bad News Barrett this Thursday for Smackdown in Survival Trials definitely backfired because Roman Reigns not only found a way to win but Roman Reigns he seems dead set on winning this Survival Trials tournament but then again he has to get by Barrett which is no easy task but also with Barrett The Authority won't be far behind.

- Chris Jericho vs Neville in Survival Trials this Tuesday on Main Event, I mean Jericho in this tournament he also has to be considered a favorite but also Jericho when is the last time he ever had a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match? It has been a very long time so Jericho is due but also Neville he is a relative newcomer so something has gotta give

- Big Show and Bo Dallas, I mean with this Bolieve thing I wonder if this could be a sign of Big Show perhaps turning babyface? Or perhaps Big Show staying heel but becoming a more dominant force as a heel as a giant?

- Bo Dallas proving his point proving why Big Show should "Bolieve" I mean he managed to beat Kofi whereas Big Show he lost his match earlier on tonight and Big Show has been on a losing slump whereas Bo Dallas he has been gaining momentum so I wonder where this will lead?

- Batista & Orton the WWE Tag Team Champions they more or less dominated Los Matadores I mean they dominated them like it was not even close it was a squash match in its entirety. I mean is there any tag team in the WWE Tag Team division that can step up to Batista & Orton? Any team that can stand up to them? Any team that can match up to them in size, strength? I mean they had their way with Fernando, Diego and El Torito and that should be a lesson to any of the WWE tag teams that dare to challenge Batista & Orton because that is what they are signing themselves up for

- Hell in a Cell PPV is coming up, I mean I can't wait to see the matches for the WWE Hell in a Cell PPV but also I can't wait to see what kind of Survival Trials matches we will end up getting for the Hell in a Cell PPV? However seeing the roundtable of JR, Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels and Triple H I mean Foley, Michaels and Triple H basically made their careers in Hell in a Cell they basically had some of the greatest matches in WWE history inside Satan's structure

- WWE United States Champion Alberto Del Rio vs Cody Rhodes in Survival Trials this Thursday on Smackdown, another match that will prove to be very interesting to say the least

- And in the main event Dean Ambrose beating his fellow Shield member Seth Rollins in the main event, no doubt that that will bring about the beginning of the end of The Shield I mean it is almost inevitable

SURVIVAL TRIALS – ADRIAN NEVILLE VS. CHRIS JERICHO; The two men shake hands before the bell in a show of respect. They go into a feeling out process, trying to figure out each other. Adrian Neville is incredibly quick and Chris Jericho is a few years past being able to keep up. With age comes years of experience though, as Jericho is able to outthink Neville and take him to the mat. He tries for the Walls of Jericho, but Neville quickly drags himself to the ropes. Jericho looks for the Codebreaker but Neville latches on the ropes to block it. He nails a beautiful standing shooting star press, but only scores a near fall. Neville now climbs up top, but Jericho gets up there and nails him with a right hand. He seems to grab Neville for what looks like a top rope Codebreaker that brings the crowd to their feet. Neville fights him off and knocks him to the mat. He hits the Red Arrow, earning the 1-2-3. Adrian Neville defeats Chris Jericho in 10:11!

Adrian Neville leaps to his feet to celebrate the victory. Tom Phillips directs us to the standings after two days, showing us that Neville joins John Cena, Dean Ambrose and Sami Zayn in the lead with two points each, while Chris Jericho, Sheamus, Miz and Seth Rollins all have zero.
