WWE NXT: January 21st, 2015 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
The rivalry between former best friends and NXT Tag Team Champions, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, was chronicled in a video package to open the show. Following the video, General Manager William Regal was shown sitting at his desk in his office. “Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to inform you that on Wednesday night, February 11th, NXT takes over the WWE Network once again with our next special. And on that night, NXT Champion Sami Zayn will defend his championship against Kevin Owens.” Regal said that he wanted Owens to earn his title shot but Zayn demanded the match and Owens only agreed if the title was on the line. The NXT weekly intro video played and the commentary trio of Rich Brennan, Jason Albert and Renee Young introduced things. They hyped tonight’s show, including the beginning of an eight-man tournament to determine a number one contender for the NXT Championship.
Speaking of champions, the NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks kicked off NXT this week by making her way down to the ring. Once inside, Sasha grabbed a microphone and said that things are boring around here. “Don’t misunderstand me. I’m not boring. It’s just boring to know that there’s no competition. Bayley? Please. I had her crying to her mommy after TakeOver. Becky Lynch? She’s at home with her arm in a sling after stepping in the ring with me. Charlotte? Little miss ‘Ooh, I’m Ric Flair’s daughter’? Her arm is in even worse shape than Becky’s. There’s nobody left. I might as well just retire this title because nobody can touch me.” Sasha was interrupted by the music of General Manager William Regal, who stepped onto the stage. He commended Sasha for turning back all challengers in a vicious manner. “I know a thing or two about being a villain, so I can appreciate what you’ve done. And you’re right. You’ve defeated Bayley and Charlotte. But you haven’t pinned Becky Lynch, nor have you made her submit. And yesterday, I spoke with her and it turns out that Becky is cleared to compete in about two weeks, which frees her up for February 11th. So yes, at TakeOver it will be Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch for the NXT Women’s Championship and there must be a winner via pinfall or submission!” The crowd roared at the announcement but Sasha Banks was not amused.
An ad aired for the Royal Rumble, which comes to you live this Sunday on the WWE Network.
NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINALS – FINN BALOR DEF. CURTIS AXEL IN 10:54; Since arriving in NXT, Curtis Axel has seemingly made Finn Balor a target. They got a chance against one another tonight. Axel was quick to use multiple underhanded tactics throughout. He raked eyes, pulled tights, had his feet on the ropes and even utilized a low blow. Finn got his foot on the bottom rope after the Axehole was hit. Curtis couldn’t believe this and argued with the referee. When he turned around, Finn met him with a big dropkick and then won via Coup de Grace. “Finn Balor is one step closer to his first shot at the NXT Title and he did it by defeating a former Intercontinental Champion,” said Brennan.
Standing by backstage was Devin Taylor with Blake, Murphy and Alexa Bliss. She asked for answers about Alexa joining the tag team. Blake went to speak but Alexa stopped him and spoke instead. “It’s quite simple Devin, but I guess you need it spelled out for you. I am the most overlooked woman in all of WWE, while Blake and Murphy here are the fastest rising tag team. I think we proved that last week when we beat your precious NXT Tag Team Champions, Enzo and Cass. Next time, and I promise there will be a next time, we’re gonna do it for the titles.” CHAD GABLE AND JASON JORDAN W/ JACK SWAGGER AND ZEB COLTER DEF. THE LEGIONNAIRES IN 3:21; By the end of this match, Jack Swagger seemed to grow fonder of the tag team portion of his All-American Real Americans stable. He was surprised to hear the crowd get so behind Chad Gable and Jason Jordan. They won with an assisted back suplex and Swagger instantly ran in to congratulate them.
A commercial was shown to promote WWE’s next “True Giants of Wrestling” DVD. New NXT correspondent Greg Hamilton was backstage with Tyler Breeze. Breeze demanded the interview time because he had a grievance with William Regal. “How dare you make a number one contender’s tournament and not include Prince Pretty? Yet, Hideous Itami is somehow involved. This is an injustice of the highest level and I will not stand for it.” Breeze promised repercussions. BAYLEY DEF. KC CASSIDY IN 3:56; Like Jessie McKay a few weeks ago, Kc Cassidy is an Australian competitor who put up a big fight in her NXT debut. Though Bayley entered as the heavy favorite, KC picked up two near falls and even applied a submission at one point. Bayley righted the ship and won with the Bayley to Belly. “Though Becky Lynch is next in line, Bayley is taking the steps towards another shot at the NXT Women’s Title sometime soon,” said Renee.
A black and white, silent vignette aired showing the Vaudevillains working out. They used comically huge barbells, rode penny-farthing bicycles and Simon Gotch fought a bear. Another Royal Rumble related ad aired.
Greg Hamilton met with Kevin Owens in the locker room. He asked for Kevin’s thoughts on the match with Sami Zayn at TakeOver. Kevin stared at Greg with no expression for several seconds before simply asking, “Who the hell are you?” Greg responded but Kevin cut him off and asked, “How the hell do you think I feel? I got exactly what I wanted. A shot at the NXT Title. I don’t care who I have to go through to get it.” When asked if he had anything to say to Sami, Kevin said that he would tell him to his face in the ring next week
Rich Brennan hyped next week’s edition of NXT. As Kevin Owens just pointed out, he’ll be face to face with Sami Zayn ahead of their NXT Title match. Plus, the Number One Contender’s Tournament continues when Mason Ryan takes on Corey Graves and Hideo Itami goes one on one with Solomon Crowe. NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINALS – EVAN BOURNE DEF. BARON CORBIN IN 6:53; For the first time in his career, Baron Corbin tasted defeat. After having his toughest match yet against Mason Ryan at TakeOver, Evan Bourne did one better. He had a smart game plan, avoiding Baron’s grasp and using his quickness to his advantage. Even when Corbin caught him and hit a move, Bourne would roll away or outside to catch his breath. Corbin went for the End of Days but Bourne flipped all the way over, slid under Baron and pulled him into a rollup for the upset. The crowd rose to their feet in shock and awe. Baron Corbin fumed and turned to see Evan Bourne roll outside and celebrate. “My god, Baron Corbin just suffered his first loss and it came in the biggest match of his career,” exclaimed Jason Albert. Corbin exited the ring and clubbed Bourne in the back, sending him headfirst into the guardrail. Not satisfied with the attack, Corbin picked Bourne up and nailed the End of Days on the ramp. Officials rushed out to check on Bourne nut Baron shoved them away and did the move a second time. He posed over Bourne to a chorus of boos.

WWE Royal Rumble: January 25th, 2015 – Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Following the WWE signature, footage aired of the Wells Fargo Arena. Fans filed in on this snowy night while Renee Young, Booker T, new WWE commentator Mauro Ranallo and former Royal Rumble winner and WWE Hall of Famer, Edge. They started big by discussing the Royal Rumble match itself. Edge and Booker spoke about it being a grueling match and said it’s all about the luck of the draw. “I competed in the Royal Rumble for years and it wasn’t until my last Rumble that I drew a great number. I came in at twenty-nine and guess what? That’s the one I actually won,” explained Edge. Predictions were all over the place. Booker believed that the returning Roman Reigns would finish what he started last year, while Mauro picked Daniel Bryan. Edge went out on a limb and said that his best friend Christian was getting his last run. They also talked about the Intercontinental Title match and everyone felt that the tandem of Tyson Kidd and Cesaro would continue to have Dolph Ziggler’s number. Renee then sent things over to ringside for the Kickoff match collision between two of the WWE’s resident monsters.
WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP – ALEXANDER RUSEV (C) W/ LANA VS. RYBACK; For weeks, Ryback has not only staked his claim for the United States Title, but to stop the bully that is Alexander Rusev. The bell rang and they circled one another. Rusev went for low kicks but Ryback checked them. “It looks like Ryback came in with a game plan tonight,” said John “Bradshaw” Layfield. Ryback finally caught one and shoved Rusev onto his back. He raised his arms in a show of dominance. Rusev backed his way to the corner where Lana came over for strategy. Ryback gave him no room for rest, going on the offensive. He fired off shots and stomps in the corner before tossing Rusev to the other side of the ring. “I don’t think we’ve ever seen Rusev manhandled this way,” said Michael Cole. Rusev charged in with clothesline attempts but Ryback ducked both and busted out a cross body for two. Ryback continued to try new things, with a Thez press followed by banging Rusev’s hand on the mat. He got two on a splash. Once Rusev stepped outside to regroup, Ryback followed and ate a kick. Rusev sent him into the steel steps and took over. Rusev wore Ryback down before they battled on the apron. Rusev went to suplex Ryback to the outside, but neither man yielded and they had a tug-o-war that Ryback won, suplexing Rusev inside. His comeback attempt was thwarted by a surprising spinning heel kick from the champion. “It’s scary how agile Rusev is,” said Jerry Lawler. Rusev pounded away on Ryback and got on his back with a sleeper. Ryback countered with the backpack stunner. He hit the meat hook clothesline for two but both men were down. They slowly got up and traded blows, entering a vicious slugfest. Ryback looked for the Shellshock but Rusev slipped free. Lana hopped on the apron as Rusev shoved Ryback. Ryback stopped himself before running into her. He turned and caught a kick from Rusev before scoring with his own. “FINISH HIM!” He went for the Shellshock again but again, Rusev found an escape. Lana distracted the referee, opening the door for Rusev to kick Ryback low. He pounced and applied the Accolade. Ryback fought but couldn’t overpower the champion and passed out. Alexander Rusev defeated Ryback to retain the WWE United States Championship in 8:03!
Loud boos fell over the Wells Fargo Arena while Alexander Rusev refused to break the hold. Lana grabbed the United States Title from ringside and entered, giving the signal to break the hold. For the first time since his debut though, Rusev didn’t break it. Lana gave the signal again, but nothing. Several officials entered and tried to no avail. The referee for the match spoke to Eden, who announced that the decision has been reversed. Ryback defeated Alexander Rusev via disqualification! Once the announcement was made, Rusev broke the hold and went after the referees, who all escaped in time. Lana continued to try and calm the US Champion down.
The Kickoff panel took back over and discussed the events that just transpired. Booker T believed that Ryback winning means he should get a rematch at some point in the future. The team shifted gears over to the Women’s Title match, saying it is the biggest in years, though Edge felt like the Hell in a Cell match between AJ Lee and Paige was. Each member of the panel picked a different competitor. Mauro picked AJ, Edge picked Paige and Booker T claimed that Emma would continue to use her cunning ways to remain champion. A lengthy video package aired to hype the McMahons and Triple H’s war with the Wyatt Family. All three panel members predicted a Wyatt Family win. “I’ve seen a lot of stuff before, during and after my career, and I think Booker will agree with me here, but the Wyatt Family is just something different. And I love Vince to death, he gave me an opportunity to live out my dream and he’s one tough son of a bitch, but he’s 70 years old and the Wyatts are a trio of monsters,” said Edge. The last subject was the monumental clash for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Edge went with his former partner Randy Orton, but both Booker and Mauro said that Brock Lesnar would retain. Booker claimed that Brock’s 2015 might somehow surpass his 2014. Closing out the Kickoff show, the Royal Rumble “By the Numbers” video aired.
Starting the official broadcast, a video package set to “Keep Swinging” by Blitz Kids was shown. All the Superstars who qualified for the Royal Rumble were highlighted and they talked about what it takes to “be the one.” The video then shifted to focus on Brock Lesnar, John Cena and Randy Orton. The three former OVW studs collide in the same ring at the same time for the first time in their illustrious careers. Pyro shot off and the cameras panned the jam-packed Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia. Michael Cole, John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Jerry Lawler welcomed viewers to the twenty-eighth annual Royal Rumble. “Tonight, thirty men compete for the biggest opportunity in sports entertainment. The road to WrestleMania officially begins tonight!” exclaimed Cole.
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP – DOLPH ZIGGLER (C) VS. TYSON KIDD W/ CESARO AND NATALYA; Since deciding that they didn’t just want to conquer the tag team division, Cesaro and Tyson Kidd have had Dolph Ziggler’s number. Kidd went for several rollups and flash pins, coming close each time. He smirked at Dolph, again showing that he’s in his head. Tyson stepped forward for offense but Dolph struck with a superkick from out of nowhere. “That should wake Tyson up and remind him that this is a fight,” said Lawler. Dolph got two on that and took Kidd to the mat. There, neither man could gain a clear advantage. Ziggler hit the heart stopper series of elbow drops for another near fall. He went for another superkick but Kidd caught it, tripped him up and dropped his own elbow on the leg. Kidd continued to focus on the leg. “Tyson is clearly setting up for the Sharpshooter,” said JBL. Kidd did attempt it only for Dolph to kick him into the corner. Kidd bounced out into a small package for two. As they got up, Dolph hit the Fameasser. He covered but Natalya pulled the referee out to a chorus of boos even though she immediately looked apologetic. He ejected her from ringside. While that was happening, Cesaro snuck in and leveled Dolph with a running uppercut. Kidd crawled and covered Dolph but he just got his shoulder up. Kidd fired off a series of kicks before hitting a springboard elbow from the apron. He also rolled up Dolph with a his feet on the ropes. Dolph was resilient as ever though. Dolph got sent into the corner but hopped up to go over Kidd. Kidd caught him on his shoulder but Dolph snapped down into a huge DDT. “That could be the opening Dolph Ziggler is looking for,” said JBL. Both men struggled to their feet. Tyson fully stood first and charged in for a dropkick to the side of Dolph’s head. Dolph dodged and Tyson went straight through the ropes for a hard landing on the mat outside. Dolph slid Kidd back in and went for a clothesline. Tyson ducked, but Dolph grabbed on and locked in a sleeper hold. Kidd struggled but clearly began to fade. He broke it with a jawbreaker and moved to the corner. Dolph shook off the jawbreaker and connected on a stinger splash. Cesaro hopped on the apron but Ziggler was ready and knocked him back with a superkick. Seeing an opening, Dolph struck Kidd with the Zig Zag, earning the 1-2-3. Dolph Ziggler defeated Tyson Kidd to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship in 11:25!
Dolph Ziggler quickly exited the ring to cheers. Cesaro slid in, holding his jaw, but wasn’t there in time. Ziggler was handed the Intercontinental Title and held it high in the air, celebrating with the WWE Universe. “They tried all the tricks in the book, but Dolph Ziggler still managed to best Tyson Kidd and Cesaro tonight,” said Michael Cole.
Backstage, Hulk Hogan and Stephanie McMahon were in their office with a tumbler in between them. Stephanie said that she enjoyed the first match of what promises to be a great show. The Miz and Summer Rae walked in to pick his number. “Hulk. Stephanie. You are about to witness a moment in history. The moment when the A-List star of the WWE selects the winning number in the 2015 Royal Rumble match.” Before Miz can reach for his number, a small man walked in and reaches for the tumbler. Hogan stops him, “Excuse me. What are you doing, brother?” The man looked at Hogan and introduced himself as Batista’s Production Assistant. He showed his card off and then grabbed a number out, before turning and leaving. Miz stared a hole through him the entire time. “What was that? Where the hell is my production assistant?” Hogan and Stephanie shrugged while a pissed off Miz retrieved his number. He opened it and his widened. He threw the ball the number came in on the ground and stormed off.
A video package aired, focusing on Emma. It showed her beginnings on the main roster, dancing with Santino Marella and losing. Emma spoke over the highlights. “I tried pleasing all of you. I smiled and danced for you people. I even tried being Paige’s little buddy while she racked up all the accolades.” Emma’s loss at the Survival Trials Finals was shown next, followed by her attack on Paige. “Things sure did turn around once I stopped caring about Paige and the WWE Universe didn’t they?” Emma not only went on to capture the WWE Women’s Title at Survivor Series, but she delivered heinous attacks. She put Paige through the announce table with a Michinoku Driver, put Brie Bella on the shelf and kicked AJ’s head into a mirror. AJ, Paige and Nikki Bella all wanted their hands on Emma, but Paige and AJ earned the shot by pinning Nikki. Since then, the war between the women has continued until tonight. WWE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – EMMA (C) VS. AJ LEE VS. PAIGE; For all of 2014, the women’s division saw these three women sit at the top. As soon as the bell rang, AJ Lee and Paige charged at Emma and pound away on her. AJ sends Emma into a boot from Paige and the champion rolled outside. “That had to feel good for the challengers,” said Lawler. Alone in the ring, the crowd popped for the renewal of the infamous Paige vs. AJ Lee rivalry. AJ charged in with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors to take Paige down. AJ moved into a wheelbarrow rollup attempt but Paige countered into a big German suplex variation for two. Paige applied a sleeper, swinging AJ’s body in the process. Emma returned to break things up. AJ springboarded off the second rope with a cross body on Emma for another near fall. Paige clotheslined AJ to the outside and turned her attention to Emma. “Paige has been waiting for this for weeks,” said JBL. Emma noticed they were alone and ran outside. Paige chased her down and tossed her into the barricade. Paige wrapped Emma’s legs around her and violently swung her into the barricade multiple times. When she finished, she turned around and was greeted by AJ leaping off the steps with a clothesline. AJ rolled Emma inside, hitting a Shining Wizard for a near fall. AJ climbed up top but Emma cut her off. She climbed up top too, looking for a superplex. AJ blocked it but Paige slid under Emma. She powerbombed her while Emma superplexed AJ and all three women were down. When they got up, Paige superkicked AJ in the stomach but Emma threw her outside. She nailed AJ with the corner sandwich and set up for the Emma Lock. Before she could go back for it, Paige came in with a kick to her stomach, knocking Emma outside. Paige and AJ traded blows until AJ swung around into the Black Widow. Paige blocked it from fully being locked on and countered into the Paige Turner but AJ got a shoulder up. Paige quickly went into the PTO. AJ nearly tapped, but Emma broke it up with a shot to Paige's back with the Women's Title. She then hit AJ with a Michinoku Driver to retain the title. Emma defeated AJ Lee and Paige to retain the WWE Women's Championship in 8:03!
Once again, Emma found a way to remain the WWE Women's Champion. She exited the ring and held the title high in the air. When Paige came to, she nearly had tears in her eyes, failing once again. JBL noted that Emma's cunning style will lead to a lengthy reign.
Backstage, Hulk Hogan and Stephanie McMahon stood by the tumbler again. In stepped Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins, who got a high five from Stephanie McMahon. He ignored Hogan as he reached in for his number. Seth liked his number but Stephanie’s smile faded when someone else entered. The camera panned to reveal Daniel Bryan. “Hulk, I think you might want to double check and make sure Stephanie didn’t find a way to gift Seth Rollins number 30 like she’s gifted him everything else in the past few months.” Seth took offense saying, “Hey, I stomped on Dean Ambrose’s head to earn this briefcase. I created and destroyed the Shield on my own. And regardless of what number I pulled from there, I’m gonna win on my own tonight.” Bryan goaded Seth into revealing his number, which was, as expected, thirty. “If you’re as good as you say you are, you’ll put that back and draw again.” Bryan chose his number and seemed satisfied but walked away leaving Seth conflicted. He pulled another number out and returned the number thirty. “Seth, what the hell are you doing?” shouted Stephanie as he walked off with his new number. Hogan looked at her, “How the hell did you rig this?” A video package set to “Other Side” by New Years Day played, showing the history between The Wyatt Family and the McMahons. The night after Hell in a Cell, Vince McMahon returned to make an announcement. He was interrupted by the returning Wyatt Family, who attacked and put him on the shelf. Triple H came out the following week to defend his father-in-law but got double chokeslammed off the stage and sent to the hospital. Shane McMahon returned for the first time in five years and went to war with Bray Wyatt at Survivor Series and TLC. Bray won and the McMahons were ready to give up. Triple H returned, ripped up the contract they were handing to the Wyatt Family and the war was reignited. Tonight, the six of them do battle!
SHANE MCMAHON, TRIPLE H AND VINCE MCMAHON VS. THE WYATT FAMILY; Triple H offered to start the match for his team, standing across the ring from Bray Wyatt. The crowd came unglued at this sight. “You can feel the electricity in this arena,” exclaimed JBL. Bray smiled and tagged out to Luke Harper though, drawing boos. Harper and Triple H exchanged offense, with an aggressive side of Triple H showing. He hit the big running high knee and posed for the fans. Erick Rowan tagged in and Shane McMahon wanted in. HHH obliged and Shane lit up Rowan with a series of punches. Rowan ducked the big blow and carried Shane into the corner. Once there, Rowan pounded on Shane. This led to the Wyatt Family picking the young McMahon apart. Bray, Luke and Erick took turned beating on him. “This is a dissection of Shane McMahon,” said Cole. Shane got free with an enziguri and crawled towards his brother-in-law. Harper ran around the ring and pulled HHH off the apron, sending him into the guardrail. The air in the building emptied as Shane’s face fell. Vince looked at the crowd and extended his hand out. Shane didn’t want to, but was desperate and tagged his father in. Rowan tagged Bray in at the same time and the crowd erupted. Vince, driven by adrenaline, dared Bray to fight. They went at it and Vince swung like a wild man, looking for revenge. He sent Bray off the ropes and went for a clothesline but Bray ducked and laid him out with a body block. “Mr. McMahon certainly has grapefruits, but he’s overmatched here,” said Lawler. Bray lifted Vince and held him in position for Sister Abigail. He planted a kiss on Vince’s forehead, but Shane came off the top with a missile dropkick. Harper got back in the ring but Shane was back up and clotheslined Harper, both men spilling to the outside. Triple H made it back to the apron, where Vince crawled over and tagged him. Triple H finally got his hands on Bray, delivering several right hands in a row. He sent Bray off the ropes, but Rowan blind tagged in. Bray stopped himself, dropped to the mat, and rolled outside. Rowan turned Triple H around but was met with a kick to the gut. Triple H nailed him with the Pedigree and pinned him, staring a hole through Bray the entire time. Shane McMahon, Triple H and Vince McMahon defeated The Wyatt Family in 10:06!
Bray Wyatt watched as Triple H got to his feet and had his hand raised. He smiled the entire time, while Triple H dared him to get in the ring. Erick Rowan rolled outside and was helped by Luke Harper as the Wyatt Family backed up the aisle. Shane McMahon joined Triple H and helped Vince to his feet. Once the Wyatt Family officially exited, Triple H relaxed and allowed himself to enjoy the victory. “The good guys win the battle tonight, but the war seems far from over,” said Michael Cole. Returning backstage, Stephanie McMahon did not seem pleased with the previous match, even though her husband, brother and father won. Hulk Hogan mentioned that there were only three numbers remaining in the tumbler. “HEYYYY WE WANT SOME NEW DAY!” The three members of the New Day enter the picture, singing their own praises. Xavier Woods stopped them and noticed Stephanie. “That frown. That frown is not good. We thrive on the power of positivity. If we could all just smile, I bet these three numbers in the tumbler are great.” Stephanie gave a disgusted look and just walked off. Hogan spoke, “I feel you guys. Her negativity was bumming me out.” There was an awkward silence until Kofi broke it with another rendition of “HEYYYY WE WANT SOME NEW DAY!” while Xavier pulled out the three numbers. He handed one to each of his teammates and they danced off the screen.
The Royal Rumble “By the Numbers” promo aired, reminding fans that it is all about the numbers in tonight’s match.
ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH ENTRANT #1: CODY RHODES ENTRANT #2: CHRIS JERICHO The fans popped for one of the hottest Superstars in WWE, Cody Rhodes, coming in first. Then, for the third time in his career, Chris Jericho drew number two. “Oh boy, this rivalry is about to get reignited,” said Michael Cole. He was right because once the bell rang, these two got into a fist fight that the crowd ate up. Cody ducked a clothesline and came off the middle rope with the Disaster Kick. Cody attempted to eliminate him but Jericho fought off. He tripped Cody up for the Walls but got kicked into the corner, where Cody went back to try and send him over.
ENTRANT #3: THE MIZ The Miz ran to the ring with a pissed off look on his face. He immediately attacked Cody Rhodes from behind and partnered up with Chris Jericho. They both stomped on Cody in the corner and high fived. At that point, both men kicked each other in the stomach. They pointed at each other while holding their ribs, blaming the other for turning on them. Cody got up, causing them to work together again as they sent him into the corner. Instead of focusing on eliminating him though, they argued. Cooler heads prevailed and they agreed to go after Cody. Chris quickly grabbed Miz and launched him over the top, but Miz managed to hold on. Once inside, Miz got in a shoving match with Jericho.ENTRANT #4: XAVIER WOODS
“IT’S A NEW DAY, YES IT IS!” Xavier Woods came down, bringing positivity to the Royal Rumble. He exchanged blows with the Miz, while Chris Jericho took that time to go back after Cody Rhodes. Woods came in hot but ended up eating the Awesome clothesline in the corner. Miz sent him over the top but Xavier landed on the apron. Miz went back after him but took a forearm. Xavier entered the ring and nailed the Honor Roll. Meanwhile, Cody was back in control over Jericho, but was unable to eliminate him. ENTRANT #5: ALEXANDER RUSEV Like last year, Alexander Rusev entered the Royal Rumble early and was a monster. Cody Rhodes went after him first only to be taken down with a fall away slam. Chris Jericho snuck up on him with some shots from behind, but like at SummerSlam, Rusev proved to be too much and took him out with a body block. Miz avoided Rusev completely, but Woods was up for a fight. Unfortunately for the New Day member, Rusev laid him out with a savat kick and dumped him outside. Eliminated: Xavier Woods Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, The Miz and Alexander Rusev
ENTRANT #6: SIN CARA Knowing that Alexander Rusev was dominating, Sin Cara attempted a different approach. As soon as he reached the ring, he hopped on the apron and springboarded in. The move connected, taking Rusev off his feet with a dropkick. Rusev got up quickly and caught Sin Cara’s cross body attempt. He walked to the ropes and let go of him, dropping Sin Cara to the mat outside. Miz and Chris Jericho continued to double team Cody Rhodes. With Rusev freed up, they whipped Cody right into a savat kick from the “Bulgarian Brute.” Rusev then looked at Miz and Jericho, and the duo realized he wasn’t exactly on their side.Eliminated: Sin Cara Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, The Miz and Alexander Rusev
ENTRANT #7: DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE The WWE Universe exploded at the sight of former WCW Champion, Diamond Dallas Page. DDP looked great from all his DDP Yoga. He cautiously entered the ring, knowing that he was in with three cunning Superstars. Miz attacked first, but DDP ducked his shot and scored with the Diamond Cutter. “DDP’s still got it Maggle!” yelled JBL. Chris Jericho came forward and delivered chops in the corner. Alexander Rusev took to beating up Cody Rhodes while this was going on. Jericho took down DDP after a bit and went for the Lionsault. DDP rolled out of the way. He got up and immediately hit another Diamond Cutter! He tried one on Rusev but the United States Champion shoved him off and clotheslined him over the top as the countdown ran. Eliminated: Diamond Dallas Page Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, The Miz and Alexander Rusev
ENTRANT #8: RYBACK “FEED. ME. MORE!” The music of Ryback hit to a big pop. The man who defeated Alexander Rusev due to the overturned decision earlier tonight made his way to the ring, holding his lower back. Once inside, he and Rusev went toe to toe, picking up where they left off on the Kickoff show. Cody Rhodes was finally back on the offensive and planted Miz with Cross Rhodes before going back to trying to eliminate Chris Jericho. Ryback took control over Rusev, but neither man was able to send the other one over the top. Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, The Miz, Alexander Rusev and Ryback
ENTRANT #9: CHRISTIAN“Captain Charisma” arrived to a solid reaction from the crowd. Looking to make good on his promise of “one last run”, Christian came in hot. He hit Chris Jericho, The Miz and Cody Rhodes with several strikes and offense. The battle of the brutes continued on the side as Ryback and Alexander Rusev brought the big blows. Their fight took them to the ropes as they attempted to eliminate one another. Christian came off the second rope with a European uppercut on Miz and rolled right into a reverse DDT on Jericho. Seeing an opening, Christian snuck up on Rusev and Ryback, using their own power to help eliminate both at the same time. The crowd roared as Christian’s attempt to pull off a miracle tonight just took a big step in the right direction. Eliminated: Alexander Rusev and Ryback Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, The Miz and Christian
ENTRANT #10: BIG E Our second New Day member and former Intercontinental Champion, Big E joined the fray next. He avoided the continued brawl between Alexander Rusev and Ryback on the outside before sliding in. Rusev and Ryback fought all the way to the back. Christian’s hot streak hit a wall with the new powerhouse involved. Big E hit both Christian and Chris Jericho with slams before running Cody Rhodes with a body block. Miz nailed him with a low blow to stall his momentum. He failed miserably at trying to get Big E up and over the top. Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, The Miz, Christian and Big E
ENTRANT #11: DEAN AMBROSE The roof of the Wells Fargo Arena nearly blew off as the “Lunatic Fringe” entered at number eleven, the same number he drew last year before surviving for over thirty minutes. Dean Ambrose came in just like a lunatic, hitting everything that moved. He took down both The Miz and Chris Jericho with tackles and a series of rights and lefts. Not one to be intimidated, Dean also took on Big E. Big E overpowered him and sent him into the ropes, where Dean rebounded out with a big clothesline. Miz came from behind and hooked Dean for the Skull Crushing Finale. Dean elbowed his way out, grabbed the back of Miz’s head and sent him over the top. A frustrated Miz banged on the apron and demanded re-entry, but the referees stopped him. Jericho turned Dean around into a Codebreaker. Eliminated: The Miz Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Christian, Big E and Dean Ambrose ENTRANT #12: CESARO The man who bested Dolph Ziggler six nights ago, Cesaro, arrived at number twelve. The crowd popped because he went on a tear. With Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Big E and Christian in each corner, Cesaro went on an uppercut barrage, hitting each in succession. As Dean Ambrose got to his feet, Cesaro sent him off the ropes and nailed a popup uppercut. He came face to face with Big E and the two powerful Superstars did battle. Big E ducked a boot and turned Cesaro over into the Big Ending. Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Christian, Big E, Dean Ambrose and Cesaro
ENTRANT #13: DANIEL BRYAN Much like they did when Dean Ambrose showed up, the WWE Universe went nuts for Daniel Bryan. The man they wanted to win last year did the “Yes” chants with them. He climbed the top instantly and took out Big E with a missile dropkick. Bryan ducked a right hand from Chris Jericho and came off the ropes with a running elbow. He took down both Cody Rhodes and Christian, before delivering kicks to each as the crowd chanted “Yes” with each one. Big E got up and ran towards him, but Bryan backed up and dropped down, pulling the top rope with him and sending Big E to the mat outside. Jericho leveled Bryan from behind, while Ambrose took it to Cesaro and Christian battled with Rhodes. Eliminated: Big E Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Christian, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro and Daniel Bryan ENTRANT #14: KALISTO In a surprising moment, NXT Superstar Kalisto ran to the ring to a nice hand from the crowd. Similar to his partner, Sin Cara, Kalisto flew around the ring upon entry. He took over Chris Jericho with a spike rana before nailing a rolling kick on Cesaro that got a great reaction. Cody Rhodes stopped him in his tracks with a brutal Alabama slam. He launched Kalisto over the top, but the agile masked man skinned the cat. He springboarded back in over Rhodes and onto Daniel Bryan with a gorgeous rana. Dean Ambrose planted Cody with a double arm DDT as the buzzer went off.
Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Christian, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan and Kalisto
ENTRANT #15: BIG SHOWThe “World’s Largest Athlete” and perennial Royal Rumble favorite lumbered to the ring. Kalisto ran at him, which proved to be a mistake because Big Show just swatted him out of the air. As the crowd booed, Show shouted for them to shut up. He looked around and climbed to the second rope. “IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT?” yelled Show before somersaulting off, only for Kalisto to roll away. Show held his back in pain and used the ropes to help himself to his feet. Everyone in the ring came over and used Show’s own leverage to eliminate him. Eliminated: Big Show Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Christian, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan and Kalisto
ENTRANT #16: ZACK RYDER On his way to the ring, Zack Ryder was taken out by a WMD from a pissed off Big Show. The seven remaining Superstars in the ring continued to trade offensive moves. Kalisto made a critical mistake when his attempt at a spring move just saw Cesaro shove him back and he hit the floor hard. Christian was nearly eliminated as well, but held on for dear life. Chris Jericho went for the Codebreaker on Cody Rhodes, but it was blocked. He got up but Cody was ready for the attack. He dropped his head and back dropped Jericho to eliminate him. “Considering their rivalry, that had to feel good for Cody Rhodes,” said Lawler.
Eliminated: Kalisto and Chris Jericho Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Christian, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan and Zack Ryder
ENTRANT #17: SETH ROLLINS The second that Seth Rollins’ theme hit, Dean Ambrose separated from the action in the ring and stared at the entrance. He signaled for Seth to bring it. Mr. Money in the Bank did not shy away, removing his shirt and charging the ring. Once inside, Seth and Dean traded shots like a hockey fight while the rabid crowd went nuts. Dean backed Seth to the ropes and clotheslined Seth over, but he held on with just one foot touching the floor. Dean pounced but Seth met him with a low blow. With Dean incapacitated, Seth turned his focus elsewhere and went after Cody Rhodes in the corner. Cesaro had Christian on the apron and they exchanged shots. Cesaro hit several strikes in a row, bringing Christian to hang on by just one hand. He went for one final big one but Christian pulled in and nailed a shoulder thrust to the ribs. Her flipped back in over Cesaro but was met with the Busaiku Knee from Bryan. Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Christian, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Zack Ryder and Seth Rollins
ENTRANT #18: KOFI KINGSTON Our final New Day member entered the match. He clapped and looked happy on his way to the ring, stopping at the sight of Zack Ryder, who was just getting to his feet. Kofi helped him up and into the ring. They entered together but Kofi quickly turned and clotheslined him over and out. He did the entire thing with a smile. Kofi ducked Cody Rhodes and laid him out with Trouble in Paradise. Kofi and Bryan then went at it in the corner, while Ambrose and Cesaro fought on the opposite side. Seth Rollins bided his time and watched the action from the corner. Eliminated: Zack Ryder Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Christian, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins and Kofi Kingston
ENTRANT #19: TYSON KIDD Tyson Kidd arrived and went straight to help Cesaro against Dean Ambrose. They used tandem offense on him, capping out with a powerbomb/blockbuster combination. “That was impressive but if I was Tyson Kidd and Cesaro, I would have tried eliminating him instead,” said JBL. While they beat up Dean, Christian and Kofi Kingston did battle and Cody Rhodes recovered in the corner. Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins had a great exchange that saw both men nearly get eliminated, but Seth springboarded his way back into the mix with a big knee on Bryan. Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Christian, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Kofi Kingston and Tyson Kidd
ENTRANT #20: CM PUNK “Of his long list of career accomplishments, a Royal Rumble victory has eluded CM Punk thus far,” said Michael Cole. Punk slid into the ring and helped his partner out by knocking Seth Rollins out with a swift kick to the head. His old friend Kofi Kingston went for Trouble in Paradise but Punk duked and Kofi went over the top. He held on but a kick to his head eliminated him. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro stood across from Punk and Daniel Bryan as commentary reminded everyone of their classic Tag Team Title match a few months back. They traded offense, wowing the audience. Cesaro tripped up Punk and performed the giant swing. He posed when done, but it proved to be a bad move because Bryan met him with the Busaiku Knee. Cody Rhodes assisted Bryan in picking up Cesaro and dumping him over the top. Eliminated: Kofi Kingston and Cesaro Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Christian, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Tyson Kidd and CM Punk
ENTRANT #21: ALBERTO DEL RIO “El Patron” came out to a strong reaction and got right into the battle. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were back at it, with Dean wailing away on him in the corner. Cody Rhodes had lasted over thirty minutes at this point. He went toe to toe with Daniel Bryan, while CM Punk and Tyson Kidd fought over an elimination in the corner. Alberto Del Rio took it to Christian but the man hoping for “one last run” continued to survive. Del Rio got him on the apron and tried an enziguri but missed. Christian hooked him for a suplex and used it to pull Del Rio over and out in a shocker! Christian quickly re-entered the Rumble to avoid elimination. A frustrated Del Rio threw over the steel stairs before heading to the back. Eliminated: Alberto Del Rio Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Christian, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Tyson Kidd and CM Punk
ENTRANT #22: DOLPH ZIGGLER The reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion sprinted to the ring and made a beeline for the man he defeated earlier tonight, Tyson Kidd. Dolph Ziggler planted him with a big DDT, before launching him outside. He took out both CM Punk and Dean Ambrose with superkicks. He went for one on Seth Rollins, who caught it and spun him into God’s Last Gift. Seth looked over at Cody Rhodes and Christian struggling to attempt to eliminate one another. Christian fought Cody off from the apron and smashed his head into the turnbuckle. Before he could come back in, Seth superkicked him in the knee, causing Christian to buckle and fall to the mat. Seth laughed while watching a distraught Christian realize his dream had ended. The boos from the crowd turned into “thank you Christian” chants as he headed up the aisle. The cameras caught a saddened Edge get up from the Kickoff panel and head to the back. Eliminated: Christian and Tyson Kidd Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler
ENTRANT #23: KANE The WWE’s former Director of Operations entered. He looked to add to his record total of eliminations in history but started by handing out chokeslams. Kane planted Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk before helping Seth Rollins out with Dolph Ziggler in the corner. The rest of this interval saw Kane and Seth try to eliminate Superstars to no avail. Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler and Kane
ENTRANT #24: SHELTON BENJAMIN“AIN’T NO STOPPING ME” was heard and the crowd popped for the surprise return of former Tag Team, Intercontinental and United States Champion Shelton Benjamin. He entered the Rumble against Kane and Seth Rollins. Seth went after him but Shelton avoided his grasp and dropped him with Paydirt for a pop. Kane caught a kick from Benjamin, who spun around with a second kick that connected. Kane staggered back and Shelton hit a superkick. Kane fell back onto the ropes and was eliminated by stereo superkicks from Shelton and Dolph Ziggler. Cody Rhodes joined the fray with the Disaster Kick on Ziggler. Shelton turned around and saw Dean Ambrose and Daniel Bryan fighting on the top rope. He jumped straight to the top with them and brought them over with a double belly to belly suplex. Eliminated: Kane Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler and Shelton Benjamin
ENTRANT #25: BATISTA Last year’s winner of the Royal Rumble arrived, passing his Authority buddy Kane on his way to ring. Batista came in like the animal we know him to be. He drilled Daniel Bryan and Cody Rhodes with spinebusters. Dean Ambrose reeled off some strikes but Batista shrugged them off and planted him with the Batista Bomb. CM Punk came over and fired off a series of kicks and slaps before Batista picked him up and drove him into the corner. Shelton Benjamin ran over for a stinger splash but Batista moved and he caught Punk. Batista then grabbed Shelton by the back of the head and tossed him over the top and out. Dolph Ziggler ran forward as well but also got sent over. “The Animal is on a tear! We could be looking at a three time winner right here,” said JBL.
Eliminated: Shelton Benjamin and Dolph Ziggler Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, CM Punk and Batista
ENTRANT #26: BO DALLAS With the Big Show long gone, Bo Dallas tentatively walked to the ring. The only man standing inside was Batista. Bo stopped outside to think up a strategy while Batista dared him to come in. Bo cautiously slid in and tried to reason with Batista. “We can work together. We can be Botista.” Bo offered a handshake that Batista surprisingly accepted only to pull Bo into a vicious clothesline. He sent Bo packing over the top as the timer counted down. Eliminated: Bo Dallas Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, CM Punk and Batista
ENTRANT #27: ROMAN REIGNS “THE BIG DOG IS BACK!” Roman Reigns walked to the ring with a purpose. Batista anxiously awaited him, but behind him, Seth Rollins slyly slid under the bottom rope and outside. Reigns and Batista came face to face while the electric crowd came to their feet. “The final two men in last year’s Royal Rumble collide right now,” said Cole. Reigns threw the first punch and the two powerhouses waged war. Batista sent Reigns off the ropes and speared him. He taunted the crowd but Reigns instantly got back up. Batista turned around right into a spear from Reigns. Not done, Reigns also laid out CM Punk and Cody Rhodes with Superman punches before letting out a loud “OOO-AAH!”Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Batista and Roman Reigns
ENTRANT #28: JIMMY USOFor the first time since August, the music of the Usos hit and the crowd exploded. Jimmy Uso was listed as the entrant, but Jey ran to the ring with him. They went right after Batista, who just got to his feet and both men clotheslined him over the top, using so much force that they went over with him. “Oh my god! The Usos are back for revenge!” exclaimed Michael Cole. Jimmy and Jey continued their attack on Batista outside until the referees at ringside broke it up. The returning tag team exited through the crowd, while Seth Rollins watched from his low position outside the ring. The crowd became even louder when Roman Reigns slid out behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. Seth’s face fell as he slowly turned and was greeted by big right hands from Reigns. Eliminated: Batista and Jimmy Uso Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, CM Punk and Roman Reigns
ENTRANT #29: ADRIAN NEVILLE “The Man That Gravity Forgot” ran to the ring to enter his first ever Royal Rumble. He played the hot man, lighting up everyone in sight with vicious kicks and high octane offense. He wowed the crowd with a standing corkscrew moonsault on CM Punk. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns continued the assault on Seth Rollins at ringside. He sent Seth into the steel steps before being joined by Dean Ambrose. Dean smirked at Roman and they fist bumped to a huge reaction. Dean cleared off the announce table, bringing the crowd to their feet even more. Inside, Cody Rhodes planted Neville with Cross Rhodes to stop his momentum. Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Adrian Neville
ENTRANT #30: SHEAMUS The final entrant into the Royal Rumble was the “Celtic Warrior” Sheamus. Sheamus ran right around the ring to help his Authority buddy Seth Rollins, coming just in the nick of time to stop a Shield powerbomb through the announce table. Sheamus clobbered Roman Reigns and sent him inside, while Seth did the same with Dean Ambrose. The final eight competitors were now in the ring. Adrian Neville was back up and made the dangerous decision to climb up top. It worked when he hit the Red Arrow on CM Punk, but backfired as he got up holding his ribs. That weakness allowed Seth to clothesline him over the top and eliminate him. On the opposite side of the ring, Cody Rhodes was working on a tear, hitting nearly everyone with some kind of offense. Then, from out of nowhere, Sheamus snuck up and tossed him over. Cody hung up and got back to the apron but Sheamus eliminated him with the Brogue Kick. “What a disheartening moment for Cody Rhodes. He lasted 50 minutes in this match,” said Michael Cole. Daniel Bryan came over and tried eliminating Sheamus. He struggled until Punk got back up and helped him by sending them both over. Sheamus hit the floor but Bryan held on. The crowd booed Punk’s decision to try and eliminate his partner. On the apron, Bryan questioned Punk and they traded words. Punk was annoyed and ran forward to hit Bryan, who pulled the rope down, sending Punk over and out to a mixed reaction. A pissed off Punk couldn’t believe what happened and took out his frustrations by pulling Bryan off the apron, eliminating him! THE FINAL THREE: DEAN AMBROSE, SETH ROLLINS AND ROMAN REIGNS CM Punk and Daniel Bryan got into a shoving match at ringside, but in the ring, the three remaining men stood. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns circled each other as the cameras caught the WrestleMania logo symbolically hanging in the background. This proved bad for Seth, since both Dean and Roman were still pissed at him. They teamed up to beat him up, while officials attempted to separate Punk and Bryan outside. Dean knocked Seth on the apron and Roman eliminated him with a Superman punch. Roman and Dean noticed they were alone and fist bumped once more with the biggest possible prize on the line. Punk and Bryan’s fight kept officials busy as they made it up the aisle. Roman and Dean went at it to the crowd’s liking, only for Seth to sneak back in and kick Reigns low. He then tossed him over the top and with the referees back, this elimination was official. The WWE Universe booed loudly as Reigns held his groin and pleaded his case at ringside. Dean noticed that he was alone with Seth and his look of shock turned to a smile. Dean attacked and went for Dirty Deeds. Seth shoved him off into the ropes and hit a high knee. Dean stumbled back into the ropes and rebounded out with a clothesline attempt. Seth ducked and nailed a Pele, backing Dean into the corner. Reigns’ argument attempt failed but he continued to talk to the referees as he left to the back. Dean fell on all fours. Seth went for the Curb Stomp but Dean countered by catching him in powerbomb position. Dean looked to powerbomb him outside but Seth grabbed the top rope and tried to flip Dean over in a rana. Dean hooked his leg in the bottom rope, sending Seth over by himself. Seth still managed to hang on but once he got to his feet on the apron, Dean shoved him, sending Seth to the ground. Dean Ambrose won the Royal Rumble in 59:18!
The Philadelphia faithful lost their collective minds as Dean Ambrose was declared the winner of the 2015 Royal Rumble. Dean celebrated in the ring, while Seth Rollins pulled his hair out at ringside. “If he couldn’t win the Royal Rumble, I think the last person Seth Rollins wanted to lose to was Dean Ambrose,” explained Michael Cole. Dean took his celebration into the crowd, soaking in the win with the people who have been behind him for months now. Dean ran all the way up the stands and the camera followed him to the back. Dean ran straight out of the building, swarmed by adoring fans and into his car. He shouted “WE’RE CELEBRATING TONIGHT FOLKS!” before the car pulled away. Following the hectic Royal Rumble celebration, viewers were taken to a video package to highlight the upcoming WWE World Heavyweight Title match. Brock Lesnar, John Cena and Randy Orton were can’t miss prospects in Ohio Valley Wrestling. Now, in 2014 they are three future Hall of Famers colliding for the very first time tonight.
WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP – BROCK LESNAR (C) W/ PAUL HEYMAN VS. JOHN CENA VS. RANDY ORTON; The building continued to buzz after the Royal Rumble match, knowing they were about to witness something historic. At the opening bell, John Cena and Randy Orton communicated that they should work together. Brock Lesnar laughed at the prospect. “Two of the greatest Superstars in history are gonna work together against him and Brock Lesnar isn’t even fazed,” said Jerry Lawler. They both attacked Brock at the same time and backed him in the corner. Brock powered out, sending both across the ring. Cena didn’t back down, going back on the offensive, while Orton stayed back. Brock turned Cena around and hit the first German suplex of the night. Orton was content and stayed in the corner while Brock nailed two more Germans. Then the “Viper” struck, taking out Brock’s knee. With Brock to his knees, Orton delivered strike after strike, taking him to the mat and stomping all over his body. However, the second Orton let him breathe, Brock was back up and planting him with a German suplex. Cena was back up and nailed the Attitude Adjustment from out of nowhere. The cover only yielded a one! Cena backed away from Brock in shock. He and Orton worked together successfully this time, trading offense on Brock, but not being able to keep him down. Orton pointed at the table outside, getting a pop from the WWE Universe. “It’s gonna take something like this table to keep Brock down for even a two count,” said JBL. As Cena stepped outside, Brock pulled Orton back and clobbered him in the head. He turned him and nailed a belly to belly suplex. Cena got back in only to be hoisted up for the F5. Cena got free and hit another AA for a near fall. Finally, he managed to bring the champion outside and lay him on the table. Cena went back inside to get Orton up. Orton stood but turned on Cena again, kicking him on his way out. Orton pulled him into the rope hung DDT. He started banging the mat for the RKO but stopped at the sight of Brock coming to on the table. Orton slithered out, hopped on the table and delivered a huge RKO to Brock through it. “Oh my god! Brock and Orton are down right in front of us! All of a sudden, Cena is somehow in the best shape right now,” shouted Cole. Just then. Seth Rollins’s music hit and the crowd came unglued. Seth sprinted to the ring, clutching his Money in the Bank briefcase. “This is brilliant,” said JBL. Seth handed it to the referee and demanded he ring the bell. The referee handed the briefcase to the timekeeper as Eden announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, Seth Rollins is cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase. This is now a Fatal Four Way match!” With it official, Cena was on his way to his feet. Seth ran forward and drilled him with the Curb Stomp. Paul Heyman couldn’t believe what he was seeing as the referee counted three! Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar, John Cena and Randy Orton to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in 16:42!
The arena cheered loudly, though there were certainly a fair amount of boos, as Seth Rollins was handed the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Seth snatched it and saw Brock Lesnar getting up outside. Seth exited the ring and ran back up the aisle, stopping at the entrance. He turned and raised the title high in the air. “Seth Rollins just stole the WWE World Heavyweight Title! It’s the heist of the century!” shouted Michael Cole. Various shots of stunned fans were shown. Randy Orton looked confused, John Cena looked defeated, Paul Heyman was in disbelief and Brock Lesnar was pissed. “And he waited until Dean Ambrose left the building,” noted Lawler. Seth closed the show by swinging his new title over his head in celebration, having done the unthinkable.

- Rusev retains the WWE United States Championship beating Ryback all be it with a distraction from Lana obstructing the referee's view which gave Rusev the opening to go low on Ryback hitting a low blow and then locking in The Accolade...Rusev will do anything to make sure his undefeated streak stays in tact even if it means using Lana or cowardly heel tactics to retain his title but then the decision is reversed because of Rusev's fury his rage getting the better of him by keeping The Accolade locked on...yeah Ryback may have won the match off of a reversed decision but he is not the Champion Rusev still is all be it by DQ because titles can't change hands on a DQ but then that means Ryback is entitled to a rematch he deserves one but will he get it though? That is the million dollar question now isn't it?
- Ziggler retaining his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Tyson Kidd to start off this majestic Royal Rumble PPV in what I thought was a great opener because it kept the crowd going it was back and forth so many counter sequences which I thought were great and Cesaro even tried getting involved but to no avail but in the end Ziggler retains his title yet again which proves that in big Match situations especially when the IC Title is on the line Ziggler delivers...but could he use that to win the 2015 Royal Rumble Match later on tonight?
- Emma is proving to be quite the WWE Women's Champion I mean she finds a way to win even with the odds stacked against her in a Triple Threat Match where she didn't even have to be involved in the decision to lose her title she beats both Paige and AJ Lee to retain her title...I mean after this which diva can really beat her? She's beaten Paige and she's beaten AJ Lee she's beaten Nikki Bella and Natalya who can really beat her now in this division?
- The McMahons (Vince & Shane) and Triple H the COO as well as Stephanie's husband beating The Wyatt Family in the 6 Man Tag Team Match...yeah The McMahons may have won this match but if they think that this is over it probably won't be because I can see this match leading to Bray Wyatt vs Triple H one on one by themselves in a match for the First Time Ever I think we get Bray/HHH at Wrestlemania 31 if anything
- The Royal Rumble Match definitely has to be Match of the Night I mean we get surprise entrants such as DDP, Kalisto, Shelton Benjamin and The Usos showing up all be it it was Jimmy Uso but still this was a great match from start to finish...Cody Rhodes lasting the longest out of any entrant this year lasting over 50 minutes especially from entry number 1 lasting to like the Final 5 only to get eliminated by Sheamus which definitely has to be a heartbreak but Cody lasting that long definitely has to say something
- Rusev with 3 eliminations coming in like a beast and then Christian eliminating both Ryback & Rusev at the same time was definitely huge...but Punk trying to eliminate Bryan only for Bryan to eliminate Punk and in retaliation Punk eliminates Bryan I mean the seeds have been planted for a while as far as a Punk heel turn I think we just saw it or we will see it soon enough especially given how he cost Bryan the Rumble Match
- Final 4 seeing all 3 former Shield members and Sheamus only for Sheamus to be eliminated and the Final 3 being the 3 former members of The Shield (Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns) I find that rather ironic
- Rollins with a controversial elimination eliminating Reigns from the Royal Rumble Match...now that is huge considering this was Reigns' return and everyone obviously thought that he was going to win but then Ambrose eliminates Rollins to win the 2015 Royal Rumble Match...I find that rather poetic justice considering everything that's gone down but Ambrose winning the 2015 Royal Rumble Match I wonder if he will even make it to WrestleMania 31 in the main event? Knowing The Authority I could see them making Ambrose put his spot at Mania on the line but I think we end up getting The Shield Triple Threat Match at Wrestlemania 31 in the main event for the title
- In the main event Rollins cashes in his Money in the Bank turning the Triple Threat Match between Lesnar (c), Orton and Cena into a Fatal 4 Way while the match was happening while Orton and Lesnar are both down and Cena is staggering trying to get to his feet Rollins picked his spot perfectly to cash in and he pinned Cena to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship...definite heist of the century more like highway robbery but it was brilliant but I thought Rollins would cash in at Wrestlemania but he chooses Royal Rumble to cash in
- Lesnar isn't he entitled to his rematch seeing as how Lesnar was the Champion and he wasn't even beat he wasn't even pinned in the match Cena was so Lesnar would be entitled to his rematch and Rollins may have rued the day he ever decided to cash in because on RAW tomorrow night Brock will probably go on a rampage

Monday Night Raw: January 26th, 2016 – WWE Studios in Stamford, Connecticut
The WWE signature flashed across the screen, followed by a video package showing footage of the blizzard overwhelming the east coast tonight. Highlights of the Royal Rumble were shown after, before the cameras cut to Michael Cole and Booker T in WWE Studios. “Hello and welcome to a very special edition of Monday Night Raw. Unfortunately, our regularly scheduled show has been canceled due to treacherous conditions. Fear not though, some of our biggest stars were able to make the trip to Stamford before things got too hectic and we will have exclusive interviews with them. Plus, as a special bonus, you will witness the entire Royal Rumble match, as well as the WWE World Heavyweight Title match from last night,” said Michael Cole. Booker T threw things to the Royal Rumble replay.
ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH
ENTRANT #1: CODY RHODES ENTRANT #2: CHRIS JERICHO
The fans popped for one of the hottest Superstars in WWE, Cody Rhodes, coming in first.
ENTRANT #3: THE MIZ
The Miz ran to the ring with a pissed off look on his face. Once inside, Miz got in a shoving match with Jericho.
ENTRANT #4: XAVIER WOODS
“IT’S A NEW DAY, YES IT IS!” Xavier Woods came down, bringing positivity to the Royal Rumble. He exchanged blows with the Miz, while Chris Jericho took that time to go back after Cody Rhodes. Woods came in hot but ended up eating the Awesome clothesline in the corner. Miz sent him over the top but Xavier landed on the apron. Miz went back after him but took a forearm. Xavier entered the ring and nailed the Honor Roll. Meanwhile, Cody was back in control over Jericho, but was unable to eliminate him.
ENTRANT #5: ALEXANDER RUSEV
Like last year, Alexander Rusev entered the Royal Rumble early and was a monster.
ENTRANT #6: SIN CARA
Knowing that Alexander Rusev was dominating, Sin Cara attempted a different approach. With Rusev freed up, they whipped Cody right into a savat kick from the “Bulgarian Brute.” Rusev then looked at Miz and Jericho, and the duo realized he wasn’t exactly on their side.
Eliminated: Sin Cara Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, The Miz and Alexander Rusev
ENTRANT #7: DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE
The WWE Universe exploded at the sight of former WCW Champion, Diamond Dallas Page.
ENTRANT #8: RYBACK
“FEED.
ENTRANT #9: CHRISTIAN
“Captain Charisma” arrived to a solid reaction from the crowd.
ENTRANT #10: BIG E
Our second New Day member and former Intercontinental Champion, Big E joined the fray next.
ENTRANT #11: DEAN AMBROSE
The roof of the Wells Fargo Arena nearly blew off as the “Lunatic Fringe” entered at number eleven, the same number he drew last year before surviving for over thirty minutes.
Eliminated: The Miz Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Christian, Big E and Dean Ambrose
ENTRANT #12: CESARO
The man who bested Dolph Ziggler six nights ago, Cesaro, arrived at number twelve.
ENTRANT #13: DANIEL BRYAN
Much like they did when Dean Ambrose showed up, the WWE Universe went nuts for Daniel Bryan.
Eliminated: Big E Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Christian, Dean Ambrose, Cesaro and Daniel Bryan
ENTRANT #14: KALISTO
In a surprising moment, NXT Superstar Kalisto ran to the ring to a nice hand from the crowd.
ENTRANT #15: BIG SHOW
The “World’s Largest Athlete” and perennial Royal Rumble favorite lumbered to the ring.
ENTRANT #16: ZACK RYDER
On his way to the ring, Zack Ryder was taken out by a WMD from a pissed off Big Show.
ENTRANT #17: SETH ROLLINS
The second that Seth Rollins’ theme hit, Dean Ambrose separated from the action in the ring and stared at the entrance.
ENTRANT #18: KOFI KINGSTON
Our final New Day member entered the match.
ENTRANT #19: TYSON KIDD
Tyson Kidd arrived and went straight to help Cesaro against Dean Ambrose.
ENTRANT #20: CM PUNK
“Of his long list of career accomplishments, a Royal Rumble victory has eluded CM Punk thus far,” said Michael Cole.
ENTRANT #21: ALBERTO DEL RIO
“El Patron” came out to a strong reaction and got right into the battle.
ENTRANT #22: DOLPH ZIGGLER
The reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion sprinted to the ring and made a beeline for the man he defeated earlier tonight, Tyson Kidd.
ENTRANT #23: KANE
The WWE’s former Director of Operations entered.
ENTRANT #24: SHELTON BENJAMIN
“AIN’T NO STOPPING ME” was heard and the crowd popped for the surprise return of former Tag Team, Intercontinental and United States Champion Shelton Benjamin.
ENTRANT #25: BATISTA
Last year’s winner of the Royal Rumble arrived, passing his Authority buddy Kane on his way to ring.
ENTRANT #26: BO DALLAS
With the Big Show long gone, Bo Dallas tentatively walked to the ring.
ENTRANT #27: ROMAN REIGNS
“THE BIG DOG IS BACK!” Roman Reigns walked to the ring with a purpose. Not done, Reigns also laid out CM Punk and Cody Rhodes with Superman punches before letting out a loud “OOO-AAH!”
Remaining Superstars: Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Batista and Roman Reigns
ENTRANT #28: JIMMY USO
For the first time since August, the music of the Usos hit and the crowd exploded.
ENTRANT #29: ADRIAN NEVILLE
“The Man That Gravity Forgot” ran to the ring to enter his first ever Royal Rumble.
ENTRANT #30: SHEAMUS
The final entrant into the Royal Rumble was the “Celtic Warrior” Sheamus.
THE FINAL THREE: DEAN AMBROSE, SETH ROLLINS AND ROMAN REIGNS
CM Punk and Daniel Bryan got into a shoving match at ringside, but in the ring, the three remaining men stood.
After a commercial break, Michael Cole introduced a special guest, Roman Reigns. Reigns sat down with Cole and was asked about last night. “You know, the past few months have been the hardest of my career. I’ve faced adversity before but I always had Seth and Dean there by my side. When Seth turned on us, it broke something inside of me. I’m not just talking physically either. When I was away, I was healing my body but my mind had to get right too. I’m honestly not even sure it is yet. Last night was supposed to fix everything. I was gonna come back and pick up where I left off in last year’s Royal Rumble. I was gonna win it and win the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania. Instead, Seth Rollins snuck back in the ring and screwed me over. You all saw it live and you just saw it on the replay. I eliminated him,” said Roman. Cole understood his frustrations before wondering what’s next for Reigns. Roman said that last night, he wasn’t sure. “I was so laser focused on becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania that I felt lost. I was looking forward to kicking Brock Lesnar’s ass. This morning though, I realized that this is going to the first WrestleMania I enter on my own and you better believe I’m gonna make the best of it.” Cole thanked Roman and asked if he had anything else he wanted to address tonight. Roman cleared his throat and spoke to the camera, “Just because I got cheated out of the Royal Rumble, doesn’t mean I won’t still be your WWE World Heavyweight Champion after WrestleMania. Believe that.”
Booker T handled the next segment, reminding everyone that the “Macho Man” Randy Savage was announced as the first inductee into the 2015 Hall of Fame Class. He then introduced a video package to announce the next inductee. The former WCW World Champion, WCW United States Champion and IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Vader!
Michael Cole took back over and said that the WWE World Heavyweight Title match from last night was among the most historic and shocking in WWE history. This led to the replay of the title match.
Michael Cole and Booker T discussed how in one night, Seth Rollins went from heartbreak to triumph and changed the course of the WWE as we know it. “One has to wonder how Brock Lesnar will react to all this. The former champion stormed out of the Wells Fargo Arena last night and hasn’t been heard from since but he will be break his silence right here on Raw next Monday night.”
Now, Michael Cole brought in the Royal Rumble winner himself, Dean Ambrose. Dean sat across from Cole, who congratulated him and asked how it felt to win the Royal Rumble. Dean said that it started out as a great feeling. “That’s one of the things you always think about. Like, it’s an accomplishment I always thought would be cool. And I celebrated like it was. But I made a mistake. Leaving to enjoy myself was fine. I partied at a local bar in Philadelphia, with my tank top covered in snow. But I looked up at the TV and saw Seth Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase. So I downed two more beers and then I threw the next two at the wall! I promised that scumbag that he would never cash in his briefcase and I took my eye off the ball for one minute,” explained Ambrose. Cole continued by asking Dean about WrestleMania. Dean’s eye lit up as he said that it was after throwing the second beer that it dawned on him. “Sure, I missed an opportunity to stop Seth Rollins from cashing in but now that he’s WWE World Heavyweight Champion, he has a date with me in Santa Clara at WrestleMania. I get my revenge. I beat Seth’s face in until he’s unrecognizable. I make up for what he did at Survivor Series. I take what I should have gotten at TLC. I win the WWE World Heavyweight Title and I get to kick Seth Rollins’ ass. It’s like a dream come true.” Cole then asked about Roman Reigns’ words earlier. Dean smirked and said that Roman has a point. “He did eliminate Seth. But at the end of the day, I won the Royal Rumble. Not Roman. So he can make all the guarantees that he wants but that’s my title shot and there’s no way in hell he’s taking it from me.” Cole thanked him for his time, but Dean said, “Don’t worry, I’ll be back later. I know Seth Rollins is around here somewhere.” A recap was shown of what went down between CM Punk and Daniel Bryan during the Royal Rumble. It was their altercation that caused Roman Reigns’ elimination of Seth Rollins to be missed by the referees. Michael Cole then introduced Daniel Bryan for a sit-down interview. He wanted to know Daniel’s thoughts on what Punk did last night. Daniel responded by saying that he was surprised by it. “We had an agreement that we’d work together until it came down to the two of us. Then we’d let the better man win and go on to WrestleMania. I don’t blame Punk for trying to eliminate me though. It’s the Royal Rumble. He saw an opportunity and he took it. Sure we had words over it and he charged at me again but it was when he got eliminated that I saw a side of Punk I didn’t like.” Cole asked what happened when Punk and Bryan made it backstage. Bryan said things never escalated past shoving. “We pushed each other’s buttons and things got more heated than it ever needed to, but nothing more than that.” Cole wanted to know about the future for the Best and the Beard. Bryan took a long, deep sigh and said, “Honestly, I don’t know. When I returned from injury last fall and was kept away from the WWE World Heavyweight Title, Punk and I came together in a team that gave me some of the best moments in my entire career. But the future of the team is for Punk and I to discuss. Right now, I want to make something known. I realize that Dean Ambrose won the Royal Rumble and I know that Roman Reigns was wrongfully eliminated last night. I even understand that Brock Lesnar is owed a rematch. But so am I. Stephanie McMahon made sure I didn’t get one after losing the title at SummerSlam and with Brock barely around, it was hard to get my rematch. But with Seth here every week, I have one question. Am I coming back for my title?” Bryan eagerly looked at Cole, who responded with, “Yes?” Bryan shouted “YES!” back at him and left. Booker T brought the fans breaking news. For the first time since having his WrestleMania streak ended last year, The Undertaker returns to the WWE live at Fastlane on February 22nd!
Michael Cole took back over for a final interview of the evening. “Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins.” Seth entered the picture in a suit with the title draped over his shoulder and Cole asked how it felt to be champion. Rollins cackled and said it’s the greatest feeling in the world. “Not just being champion, but getting what I deserve. When I left the Shield, people lost their minds and said that it was a mistake. My Twitter account was filled with angry people saying I would never become anything without Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. But less than a month later, I had the Money in the Bank briefcase and another month after that and I’m the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. That’s poetic justice if you ask me.” Cole continued the discussion and mentioned the growing list of challengers. “Ha. Dean Ambrose? Beat him. Daniel Bryan? Been there, done that. Roman Reigns? He’s just another in a long line of pretenders.” Before Seth could continue, his eyes widened and he stared off screen. Dean Ambrose walked into the picture and Seth stood up to come face to face with him. You could cut the tension with a knife but then Dean cracked a smile, tapped the title and pulled up a chair next to Seth. “Sit down, Seth. Let’s make some money for this place. Let’s talk WrestleMania.” Seth refused to sit, turning to look at Michael Cole. “I’m not doing this. I’m not sitting here with this loser. You got lucky last night Dean. The Royal Rumble and this title both rightfully belong to me!” Seth stormed off, leaving Dean looking at Michael Cole with a smile. “He took that well didn’t he? This is gonna be a fun road to WrestleMania.” The cameras caught up with Seth and he stopped in his tracks. The shot panned over to reveal John Cena, the man Seth pinned at the Royal Rumble. Cena said, “You took something that doesn’t belong to you. You aren’t the first man to cash that briefcase in on me and you probably won’t be the last but each time, I took that title back.” Seth responded by saying the title wasn’t his in the first place. Cena had an answer ready, “That won’t be the case come Fastlane. You see, I just spoke with Hulk Hogan and he agreed to grant me a title shot. So enjoy that title while you can because you won’t even make it to WrestleMania with it.” Cena walked off, leaving Seth speechless. John Cena just leap frogged Ambrose, Bryan and Reigns on Seth’s list of challengers.

- How in the hell is Cena getting a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match against Seth Rollins the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WWE Fast Lane? Cena wasn't even the Champion Lesnar was so how is that fair that Cena gets a title match?
The Undertaker returning at Fast Lane no doubt to set up his WrestleMania 31 feud/match but I wonder who he will face? I sure hope it is The Icon The Vigilante Sting
- Vader as the 2nd inductee for the class of 2015 I wonder who will induct Vader into the WWE Hall of Fame?
- Ambrose yes he's going to WrestleMania in the main the main event yes he did win the Royal Rumble Match but I wonder if Ambrose will even make it to WrestleMania? Knowing The Authority knowing how Stephanie is I can see her making Ambrose put his WrestleMania spot on the line in a match at Fast Lane but here's hoping that doesn't happen
- Reigns was screwed but he said he's still setting his sights on the title too so I wonder if he will interject himself into the title match making it a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship?
- Brock he's owed a rematch he was the Champion he did lose the title but he wasn't even pinned so Brock is legally entitled to his rematch so I wonder if Brock next week will just go on a rampage destroying superstars until he gets what he wants? Brock is a Beast and after losing that title it will make him an unhinged Beast so I would hate to be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins or I would hate to be Dean Ambrose or John Cena for that matter especially with Brock in the mix...I wonder if this means we could get Lesnar/Batista The Beast vs The Animal Dream Match for WrestleMania 31? Or Lesnar taking on Orton or on someone else entirely?
- Bryan setting his sights back on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship well he's going to have to get in line but I'm sure Punk will have something to say about that...it will be Punk/Bryan at Mania how much you wanna bet?

WWE NXT: January 28th, 2015 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
Following the WWE signature, the NXT opening video played. The cameras panned over the rowdy Full Sail Arena as Rich Brennan, Jason Albert and Renee Young welcomed viewers to the show. They promised a huge night as Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will be face to face ahead of their NXT Title match at TakeOver: Rival, as well as the continuation of the Number One Contender’s Tournament. “We can now confirm that the finals of the tournament will take place at TakeOver,” said Brennan.
ALEXA BLISS W/ BLAKE AND MURPHY DEF. GIONNA DADDIO IN 1:30; For the first time since joining Blake and Murphy, Alexa Bliss was in action. She showed a more vicious side throughout this match, abusing young Gionna. She won with the Twisted Bliss splash. “Not only was that a more aggressive Alexa Bliss, but her partnership with Blake and Murphy has already paid dividends. They have an NXT Tag Team Title shot at TakeOver,” announced Albert.
Viewers were now taken to a recap of the tournament so far. Finn Balor defeated Curtis Axel last week to kick things off. Evan Bourne pulled out an upset to close out the show though, handing Baron Corbin the first loss of his career. Corbin didn’t take it well and attacked Bourne after the bell.
William Regal was shown in his office, sitting behind his desk. “Ladies and gentlemen, I have the unfortunate duty of informing you that Evan Bourne was temporarily put on the shelf due to the attack by Baron Corbin. He will not be able to compete in the next round of the tournament. However, Baron Corbin will not be rewarded for his actions. I have looked over the NXT roster and the most suitable replacement I could find who was not already in the tournament was Mr. Jack Swagger. Next week, right here on NXT, Finn Balor will go one on one with Jack Swagger with the winner advancing to the finals at TakeOver.”
A live self-shot video by Tyler Breeze on the new Periscope app was shown next. Breeze laid down on a couch, speaking about the number one contender’s tournament, still citing it as an injustice. “Sami Zayn got lucky a few weeks ago and because of that, not only am I not NXT Champion, but I’m not even in this tournament. Then, I hear that Evan Bourne can’t compete and William Regal honestly thinks Jack Swagger is the beat replacement? Does he even watch NXT? This is disgusting and until things are made right, I am boycotting NXT. Breeze out.”
NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINALS: COREY GRAVES DEF. MASON RYAN IN 5:58; After his return to NXT yielded months of an unbeaten streak, Mason Ryan finally fell to Baron Corbin at TakeOver. He took out some frustrations on Corey Graves early on, tossing him around the ring. Graves clipped Mason’s knee to cut the big man down to size. The former NXT Champion continued the assault on Ryan’s leg until he slapped on Lucky 13 and made him tap out.
The crowd was surprised to see Mason Ryan submit, but Corey Graves got to his feet with confidence. He grabbed a microphone from ringside and said that Ryan was the first casualty. “I want my NXT Title back. I don’t care about Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens having a lover’s quarrel, I don’t care about the new it stars around here like Hideo Itami or Finn Balor and I don’t care who I face in this tournament. I will be NXT Champion again.” Devin Taylor stood by with NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. She asked for Sasha’s thoughts on facing Becky Lynch at TakeOver: Rival. Sasha scoffed at the question. “How do you think I feel? Did you not see my reaction last week? I thought this interview was gonna be something relevant or intelligent. It’s ridiculous that Becky Lynch gets another shot at this title. My title. But at TakeOver, the same thing that happened to Becky last time we faced will happen again. Only this time, I’m gonna break her arm.”
An ad aired to promote the upcoming Stone Cold Podcast with special guest, Triple H! Finn Balor was now interviewed in the back about his change of opponent for next week. Finn said that he didn’t come to NXT to take things easy. “Jack Swagger is a former World Champion and I’m expecting a fight like no other next week but nothing is going to stop me from becoming NXT Champion.” Finn was then asked about the possibility of facing his good friend Hideo Itami in the finals. Finn smirked and said, “Now that would be fun.”
APOLLO CREWS DEF. TYE DILLINGER IN 3:51; Three weeks ago, Apollo Crews made his debut and defeated Justin Gabriel. Tonight, he took on a man who has been struggling since Jason Jordan split their team, Tye Dillinger. Tye attempted to win with a handful of tights, but Crews was on too much of a roll for that. He hit a release spinout powerbomb to earn the win.
William Regal was shown in his office when Baron Corbin barged in. “What the hell is your problem? Evan Bourne gets a fluke victory and I put him in his place, but you give Jack Swagger a spot in the tournament? Where’s my respect? You know damn well that I deserve to face Finn Balor next week. Before Evan got lucky last week, nobody around here has been able to touch me.” Regal let him finish before stating that being a sore loser and injuring someone are not tolerated in NXT. “I do have some news for you. I just got off the phone with Evan’s doctor and, while he won’t be able to compete next week, he should be fine a few days later. That means he’ll be ready for his TakeOver match with you.” Corbin told Regal that he just signed Evan’s death wish.
An ad for WrestleMania, set to “Centuries” by Fall Out Boy, ran. Tye Dillinger stood in front of a mirror backstage. His head was down but he lifted it to look at himself. “You’re a loser. You just keep losing and making a fool of yourself. Why do you keep doing this? You should just quit.” His face slowly changed while staring at himself. “No. That’s not it. You’re a winner. You’re a ten.” Tye turned away from the mirror and said, “I’m a ten. I’m a perfect ten.” NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINALS: HIDEO ITAMI DEF. SOLOMON CROWE IN 12:41; Both men looked to rebound from losses at TakeOver: Fatal-4-Way. Hideo Itami came out kicking Solomon Crowe at every turn, while Crowe responded by catching one and hitting a dragon screw. Crowe took to working on Itami’s leg, looking to take away the kicks as well as set up the stretch muffler. He nearly got it locked in, but Itami managed to flip over, hit the ropes and come off with the shotgun dropkick using his good leg for the win. With the win, Itami advanced to face Corey Graves next week!
Tomorrow night, a mega episode of Smackdown comes to you live! Due to the blizzard of 2015, Smackdown will air live and already announced is a battle between the recently returned Jey Uso and Randy Orton! Jimmy won’t be too far behind but we will also hear from Orton for the first time since the Royal Rumble! Backstage, Solomon Crowe walked with his head down when he bumped into Apollo Crews. Crews had a big smile and told Solomon to cheer up. “Brother, I know tonight was a tough loss but I’ve known you for years. You’ll turn it around.” Apollo patted him on the back and walked off, but Crowe turned around and leveled him. He clubbed him in the back several times and threw him into the wall. Crowe spat on Crews before leaving.
Sami Zayn’s theme played as the NXT Champion made his way to the ring. He slid the title in the ring and immediately turned to await Kevin Owens. Owens’ music hit, and his demeanor was the opposite of Sami’s. While Sami had anger all over his face, Kevin slowly and smugly walked to the ring but stopped at the bottom of the ramp. Sami demanded he come in for the face to face. Owens responded, “No Sami. I don’t do what you say. I’m good right here.” This only frustrated Sami more. He spoke of their past and friendship. “At TakeOver, I’m gonna hurt you. Tonight though, I’m holding back because I have to know. I have to know how you could throw away a decade of friendship.” Kevin smirked and said it was easy. “I told you during your precious championship celebration; I hate your guts. We traveled up and down the road together and I carried you for so long I can’t believe I don’t have a bad back. I carried you so much that you looked like a million bucks and it was you who the WWE called first. You who got the big paychecks when it should have been me. I told everyone that I’m here to put food on the table for my wife and children. That title means more money in my bank account and the fact that I get to beat you for it is the icing on the cake.” Sami laid the title on the mat and told Owens that he’s looking at everything wrong. “Yea, I got to NXT first. But what did I do? I brought you in. We won the NXT Tag Team Titles together. There was no need for this to go where it has.” Owens had an answer ready. “You see? Right there. You were in NXT for a year. You called me because I wasn’t carrying you anymore and you kept failing. You couldn’t hack it and kept losing title match after title match until I showed up. You needed me. I’m done though. I’m not carrying you anymore. But I will put you in the emergency room after I take that title.” Owens walked up the ramp while saying this and left to the back after that last line, leaving a speechless Sami Zayn in the ring.

- I wonder if Ambrose then will have a match at WWE Fast Lane? Knowing The Authority knowing Stephanie I can see her making Ambrose defend his WrestleMania spot against one of her Authority members either making him face Sheamus, Orton or Batista or knowing how vindictive Stephanie is I can see her doing a divide and conquer by making Ambrose face off against his best friend the recently returned Roman Reigns with the winner going on to Mania to face the champion which creates tension between Reigns and Ambrose
- At Fast Lane I wonder if Triple H and Bray Wyatt will cross paths again? I mean considering Wyatt back at the Royal Rumble he said that this thing with him and Triple H wasn't over so it makes me wonder if he and The Game the COO will cross paths again?
- As for the other titles in WWE I can definitely see them being defended especially on this PPV card on Fast Lane

Thursday Night Smackdown: January 29th, 2015 – XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut
This week’s live Smackdown kicks off with the weekly opening video. Following that, Mauro Ranallo, Byron Saxton and Tom Phillips introduced the show and welcomed fans back after Raw was snowed out this past Monday. They guaranteed a huge show with fallout from one of the most historic Royal Rumbles of all time.
Seth Rollins’ theme hit as the brand new WWE World Heavyweight Champion strutted to the ring with a giant smile on his face and opened with a hearty, “THE CHAMP IS HERE!” Seth did John Cena’s signature “you can’t see me” taunt before continuing. He said that the image of him as champion is one every fan should have expected and one they should get used to. “Trust me folks, I’m gonna be champion for a long, long time. You think I care that Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose and John Cena all said they want this? They can want and want but at the end of the day, the title is around my waist. One thing I do care about is the incompetence of Hulk Hogan. In what world does John Cena deserve a shot at this title? He’s a chump and I’m the champ. I have some footage that proves exactly that.” Seth directed fans to the Titantron, where the Curb Stomp he hit on John Cena led to a three count and his title victory. Seth laughed when the camera returned to him. He said that was the proof needed to nix the upcoming WWE Title match at Fastlane. “I think we all agree that this match doesn’t need to happen.” Seth got cut off by the music of Co-General Manager Hulk Hogan to a pop. Hogan stayed atop the ramp and said that he figured Seth would say this. “You do make a good point but the fact of the matter is John Cena is the measuring stick around here. And while you did pin him at the Royal Rumble, I feel you should prove yourself against ‘the man’.” Seth responded by calling himself the man since he’s the champion. “Listen Seth, I understand your points. At the end of the day, my decision is final. And as much as you may not like it, Stephanie McMahon agrees with my call because title matches involving John Cena make money and sell tickets.” This infuriated Seth, who threw a small tantrum in the ring. “You seem riled up dude. I think we should put that to good use. John Cena isn’t here tonight so why don’t we give the people of Hartford a preview of WrestleMania. You find yourself a partner because you’ll be facing Dean Ambrose and…. Oh, I don’t know…. maybe ROMAN REIGNS in the main event tonight!”
CESARO W/ NATALYA AND TYSON KIDD DEF. CODY RHODES IN 13:28; Kicking off the in-ring portion of Smackdown tonight was one of the better matches in recent memory. Cody Rhodes and Cesaro traded offense at a frantic pace, with both men looking to gain momentum. Cody hit the Disaster Kick for two and couldn’t believe that wasn’t enough. Natalya distracted the official as Tyson Kidd tripped Cody. That allowed Cesaro hit a running European uppercut and the Neutralizer for the win. After Cesaro, Kidd and Natalya left, Cody slapped the mat in frustration. “Each time Cody Rhodes gains some kind of momentum, he runs into a brick wall. There was Chris Jericho last month and now his incredible performance in the Royal Rumble was ruined when Sheamus eliminated him,” said Mauro Ranallo.
A video package aired to promote Vader’s upcoming induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. He joins “Macho Man” Randy Savage in the 2015 class. Hartford was now joined by former WWE Women’s Champion Paige. As she walked to the ring, a recap of still images aired of the Women’s Title match at the Royal Rumble. Once that ended, Paige looked at the tron with disappointment in her face. She began by discussing the Royal Rumble, saying it should have been a good night. “I was this close to getting my title back and I would have if it was just me and Emma in there. I’m not out here to waste anyone’s time or talk too much. I want Emma, one on one!” After a few quiet seconds, Emma’s theme played and the Women’s Champion walked onto the stage. She let out a big yawn before stating that Paige is delusional. “And people say I’m the paranoid one. You honestly think you could beat me if it was one on one? Did I hurt you that badly? I must’ve dropped you on your head one too many times for you to forget about Survivor Series. In case you forgot, it was the night I took this from you.” Emma raised the Women’s Title high but Paige responded by reminding her of the Survival Trial Finals. That angered Emma, who agreed to a match. “One last time. A tiebreaker of sorts but on my terms. Remember who the face of this division is. I don’t just wanna beat you. I want you to suffer. I want to humiliate you.” Emma challenged Paige to a submissions match, which Paige eagerly accepted. Backstage, Dean Ambrose was shown preparing for the main event. Roman Reigns walked up to him and they stared at one another. Roman broke the silence by saying that he still feels he would have won the Royal Rumble if it wasn’t for Seth Rollins. Dean responded, “Yea, I heard you on Monday. Everyone heard you on Monday. And everyone heard you just now. But no matter how many times you say it, I’m still the guy that won the Royal Rumble. Believe that brotha.” Dean patted Roman on the shoulder and walked off.
JEY USO W/ JIMMY USO DEF. RANDY ORTON VIA DISQUALIFICATION IN 6:32; With Batista off filming a movie this week, Randy Orton got his first taste of the returning Usos. They went right after Batista in the Royal Rumble last Sunday. This was just as violent at times, with Jey Uso showing aggressive fire. Orton hit his signature rope DDT but Jey blocked the RKO. Jey went for a superkick but Orton ducked and punched him in the groin. The referee called for the bell. Jimmy slid in with a steel chair, but Orton slithered away to fight another day. The WWE United States Champion Alexander Rusev and Lana came to the stage. Rusev stood menacingly, while Lana addressed the WWE Universe. “At the Royal Rumble, you all witnessed one of the biggest injustices in history. My super athlete crushed that wannabe, Ryback. He won the match, fair and square, and what does he get for his efforts? Does he get handed his rightful title? No. Does he get a round of applause from you ungrateful people? No. He gets a stupid referee reversing the decision. And for what? Because Rusev was too much for the little guy to handle? Rusev should not be punished because Ryback is puny.” Lana continued by saying that everyone, including Ryback, remembers who really won the match. “Even so, Rusev will get revenge and Ryback, you be CRUSHED once again.”
Backstage, Renee Young interviewed the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler. She asked him what’s next now that Tyson Kidd is in his rearview mirror. Dolph said that he plans on bringing back his open challenges. “I promised the world I was gonna be a fighting champion who put this title back on the map and that’s exactly what-“ Dolph got cut off by an attack from behind by Kidd’s partner, Cesaro. Tyson Kidd joined in on the beating too. Kidd picked Dolph up so he could get run over with a brutal uppercut. Cesaro picked up the Intercontinental Title and reminded Dolph that he beat him and said he wants the title.
NON-TITLE MATCH: ERICK ROWAN AND LUKE HARPER DEF. THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS IN 5:28; Coming off the loss to the McMahon family at the Royal Rumble, the Tag Team Champions were not in a good mood. The Prime Time Players held them off early. Titus O’Neil matched both Harper and Rowan for strength but Darren Young couldn’t and was put down by a discus clothesline from Harper. “No Bray Wyatt tonight, but the Tag Team Champions look ready for another battle with the McMahons,” said Ranallo.
Mauro Ranallo took time to remind fans of the huge announcement made this past Monday on Raw. For the first time inice his legendary streak was ended last year, The Undertaker returns at Fastlane! A WrestleMania 31 ad, set to “Centuries” by Fall Out Bay, was shown. A video, shot at home, from CM Punk aired next. He addressed the fans and said that he feels he took things too far at the Royal Rumble. “Daniel and I had an agreement and I let my emotions get the better of me because so much was at stake.” Punk continued by saying he fully supports Daniel getting the WWE Title rematch he’s owed and he would like to publicly address his friend and partner live on Raw this Monday.
DEAN AMBROSE AND ROMAN REIGNS DEF. SETH ROLLINS AND SHEAMUS IN 20:06; The new WWE Champion not only saw action for the first time as champion but faced his former Shield brothers here. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose were not the well-oiled machine from their Shield days as the tension over the Royal Rumble hung above them. Sheamus and Seth showed great teamwork and cut the ring in half on Ambrose. Dean fought free and tagged in Roman, who came in hot. He hit everything moving but Seth made sure he wasn’t the legal man. Roman ducked the Brogue Kick and scored with the spear to pin Sheamus while staring a hole through Seth. The crowd roared as Dean and Roman stood across from one another. They looked around before Dean stuck his fist out for the Shield bump. Instead of accepting, Roman brushed past his partner and left.
