Me and my buddies all made the same faces. It truly was an amazing moment. I'd just been sitting there thinking to myself "I love Taker's matches but it's so predictable now, we know he'll win" then he didn't....rocked my world.

That's why I said almost. That would take literally 2 seconds for someone to re-type it as 21-1 instead of 22-0. Yes. WWE uses Microsoft Work for all of there Graphics. Its just that easy. Nope....

All it takes is hitting backspace on Chyron and typing a different number. Thats it. Too bad this is not a news feed type graphic. Its not a live video feed, its a graphic made in After Effects or a similar program which then must be rendered. And then put into the queue amongst all the other media and then played. All this while they are scrabbling to find Lesnars music. Sounds right...

Hang on a second, it wasn't a Chyron, it was an image rendered to an LED wall. I just Production Managed a million dollar show with a 34x24' LED wall and can tell you, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that there is no live graphics being rendered on those screens. They are all deliberately processed and compiled to work on those screens. The processing power to render the image just takes time. Not a ton, but 20-30 seconds after the image is created and sent for rendering (if the file isn't too complicated). All of that background movement would mean that the process would take minutes, not seconds, from the imputing of the graphic to the processing to the cueing. And dropping something like that into the cue stack would be difficult. Video work is very structured when it comes to live performances. All that said, they could have had both graphics made and then skipped a cue when the decision to end the streak came. But it was a planned end. If it wasn't, the show would have derailed backstage since the story they want to tell would not be told and they would have to do something to get it back on track. It took a few seconds to get the graphic up and yeah, it really would take mere seconds. If we can switch full rendered motion graphic images in a split second here at ION I think WWE can afford to the same. There is a major difference between broadcast and live event programing and content. For one, the image must be rendered to be split between thousands of LED's, on several different sized screens throughout the complex. It must be built into the cue stack for the driver (Watch-Out or the like), something that cannot be done "on the fly". TV production is a completely different beast than live event production. I wouldn't know how to build a Chyron for ION TV any more than you would know how to render an image into a production program used to drive 4 mil or 6 mil LED walls, 10 Mil LED banners and whatever other projectors they have around the building. TV is a completely different beast than Live event projection. Then again, we are arguing on a forum and I have no idea if you have ever worked in an arena with an LED wall. I will assume, since you talk only of TV (and ION TV at that) that you don't use LED walls regularly and don't get the hours and days pent rendering and executing the image from the computer through the server into the processor onto the wall.

Honestly to render something out like a looping graphic in after effects with the processing power of the computer systems they use is pretty simple. Though points were brought to my attention on how the screens work which I honestly do not know much about but I assumed from sports games Ive seen where there is no pre planned stuff going on that graphics could be whipped up pretty quickly but whatever.

Perhaps no one knew except for Taker and Lesnar and Vince? And the referee, and HHH/Steph, and the people who made the 21-1 graphic.

I think it was in the moment that Taker just kind of gave up.
