For the WWE black barricades I just pick up some wood from Lowes that is already in that shape and then get the black foamies and put them over it and it works great.

Yeah personally i would use some fairly thick wood and then maybe even spray paint them black, give it a good authentic effect.

black vhs tapes, make sure not to use the side with the white things
