Yesterday I went to Hot Topic and was looking to see what WWE shirts they had, then I go to look at the wristbands to see if they still had the Nine Inch Nails ones, they did and they were on clearance for $3. Anyway I go to pay for the wristband and the girl at the counter took my $5 bill and gave me the change and was interrupted by a customer, Somehow she misplaced the wristband I bought when she answered the customer. Now she swore she gave me the wristband when I purchased it whereas she did not. After a bit of arguing she gave me another one for free even though She would have made me buy another one. The employee followed me out of the store like a criminal. I never had a problem with Hot Topic before in all the years I have purchased various things there.

I'd love to see what a day in the life of JC Motors is like.
I've actually bought two of my Ryback shirts at hot topic. They have a nice selection of wrestling ts (or at least did ) even with the ridic 24.99-27.99 price tag it's still better than whatever wwe vendors are charging at live events these days (likely 35-40 per shirt )

That just seems like an incident that you cant avoid in retail, it's a mistake. They got caught off guard by another customer and didnt remember what they did with the wrist band. It sucks but people make mistakes. Now if she was being nasty, thats a different story.

I've had a few bad experiences at Hot Topics, but then again I've had some fine ones. I just hate how my ears always end up bleeding from the music.

The Hot Topic at my local mall still has music cranked as soon as you walk in and you can barely hear what anyone says to you. It's annoying as .

I hate Hot Topic simply because every time I go in there I get an unwelcome feeling, because I'm not dressed like the employee's there or like their type of music.

She probably got distracted because the music in there was so damn loud.
My guess it was this song at the time:

I'm from the uk and I went to one in Florida to look for wwe t shirts.
I was waiting to be served for like 30 mins, and they was really rude in there.
And it's not my scene...to be honest.

I passed by one and peaked in and saw a collection of douchebags from my school. You know the typical Guido style guy that Long Island is plagued of "jamming out" to the super loud douchey music. Yeah I hate the mall
Are all hot topics like that or is it just like that by me

But yeah, I don't think i've ever had a good experience in there. I've only gone in there to buy wrestling shirts, and the employees are always dicks. They either take 10 minutes to actually ring me up even though there at the counter doing god knows what, or i've also been pressured to buy another shirt because it was buy one get one 50% off (didn't give in, one shirt is expensive enough.), etc. I've just never had a good experience in that store. I also just hate the atmosphere of the store, it feels very closed in, it has heavy metal music like screaming at you, etc.

Hot Topic stores always have terrible layouts. There's barely any room to walk around, let alone stand in line. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if more than one clerk got caught up in the confusion.
I can't say I recall being profiled as such, but I wouldn't take offense to it if I were you. I doubt it had to do with "who you appear to be" but more with the fact that you had an altercation with the clerk.
