Pat Patterson High Chief Peter Miavia Lord Alfred Hayes Luscious Johnny Valentine Wendi Richter Lelani Kai Hercules Billy Jack Haynes Terri Runnels as Marlena Ole Anderson (to finish off the Classic four Horsemen Perry saturn (if for no other reason than to finish off the Radicalz)
I could go on forever others I would have liked to have seen are Early Days Mick as Jack Foley Pre-Barber Brutus beefcake RA style to go with Greg Valentine. Attitude Era Brian Pillman. (I know they did do Pillman as he was in WCW but they never did him from his time in WWE ) a better First Appearance Kane with a full mask. Early Mike Rotunda (Pre-IRS to go with Barry Windham when they were the US Express) there are others of course but thats a start.

Even though the lack of Savage,Steamboat and Von Erich hurts the line, it doesnt look like Mattel will come close to the enormity of the CS line. There were other guys i would love for Jakks to have included though. Other than obvious choices like the 3 listed above, plus Cornnette, Scott Stiener, Magnum etc.........Ron Garvin, Jimmy Garvin,Eddie Gilbert, Missing Link, Stan Hansen, and Nick Bockwinkle were always very high on my priority list over the years. I figured Bockwinkle would be a shoe in. Probably would have been if Jakks didnt lose it. I even half expected Jack Tunney to show up in there somewhere if kept rolling. Its a shame we'll never really know what could have been.

I hate to double post this thread, but if it helps you with your collection, there indeed was a Peter Miavia in the CS 3 pack line. He came with a Rock and Rocky Johnson.....also ,not that it counts, but Pat Patterson was at one point scheduled for one of the last CS waves. Although i dont believe he made it to proto status as Blackjack Mulligan or Arnold Skaalond did

Huh! I never knew that but after reading your post I looked him up and sure enough I found the three pack you spoke of. Glad to know it exists and thanks a lot!

I think even with those names missing it was still one of the most complete collections oc classic wrestlers ever made... while mattel has done a good job of making ones jakks couldnt they generally are lacking in the vast deepness of the jakks classic roster...
just my opinion there.
i to wished i could fill in the few holes in my roster and then a magical man came along... he has become to custom wrestling heads what willie wonka was to choclate!
originally the warsmen was doing heads for folks and then passed the torch to Bigeviljohn... for those whom have never ordered from Bigeviljohn be ready when his head shop reopens...
he is a pleasure to do business with and i couldn't say anything bad about him unless i was outright lying lol.
i hear a chant brewing now... "LETS GO HEAD SHOP.. CLAP,CLAP,CLAP,CLAP... LETS GO HEAD SHOP, CLAP,CLAP,CLAP,CLAP... LOL
But seriously its a great way to fill in those pesky holes in your classic collection.
as it said on some of the old photo shop ads for john, "Finish the feud, buy the heads!" lol

All names listed are great. I would add the champions who were not made: Buddy Rogers a better Ivan Koloff figure Pedro Morales Stan Stasiak Antonio Inoki Plus classic legends that were skipped: Bobo Brazil Tony Garea All the AWA guys, for some reason. The list goes on. That said, Jakks gets bashed a lot by Mattel fans, many of whom don't even own a single Jakks figure, but they are on the Mattel bandwagon. (Many future Wyatt family members here.) Thirteen years of non-stop figures is pretty incredible.

If we're going to sit here and call the Jakks Classic line incomplete what do we call the Mattel Legends line?
The OP mentions that Mattel got the Von Erichs and Macho and Steamboat, how many guys did Jakks get that Mattel will NEVER get?
I assure you Mattel will never make the Following
Johnny Rodz The Brawler Knuckleball Ivan Koloff Nikita Koloff Bob Backlund Barry Windham Ron Bass Havey Whippleman Abdulla the Butcher Bruiser Brody Gorilla Monsoon Super Star Billy Graham Johny Valentine Gerry Brisco Jack Brisco Killer Kowalski May Young God Father Ron Simmons Ricky Morton Robert Gibson Buff Bagwell Warlord (singles attire) Barbarian (singles attire) Mr. Fuji Ivan Putski Shock Master
These are just some off the top of my head. I really hope im wrong and Mattel makes them but I seriously doubt it. Mattel is dead set in releasing only current roster characters as figures. Especially Cena. Jakks certainly has a lot more characters in the classics line as of now as opposed to Mattel.
Oh and also, for the O.P. Jakks did make a Pillman, they made him in his wcw singles attire and in his tag attire as one half of the Holywood blondes.

Besides Steamboat, Macho, and Koloff, I don't consider the WWE, keyword WWE... classic superstars line incomplete.

The only possible exception could be Backlund. I can see mattel potentially releasing him. But all the Jakks bashers out there are just complaining about them because its been the "in thing to do" for the last couple of years. I like mattel and jakks. But , truth be told, no matter how successful mattel is or will be, they will never touch the depth of the CS line. Jakks ,i will admit, had the chance to prove the naysayers wrong with LoTR and to some degree , the TNA line. And they became a farce. Being their own worst enemy by becoming inept at producing a wrestling line added to the bad rep they were creating for themselves the last 6 months they had WWE rights. But that hardly erases the greatness they had the years prior to that. Were they perfect? No....................neither is mattel though. So i will continue to collect and appreciate both for what they do right, rather than concentrate on their shortcomings.

I'm in the minority - I don't get hung up on whether a figure was made by "Mattel" or "Jakks" - I consider them all wrestling figures, legends, classics....
Between my extensive JAKKS collection - and my ever growing Mattels..... accented by some of my old Hasbros, LJN's, and Galoobs.... I consider my collection to be a great mix & a walk through wrestling history (and wrestling-figure history, too).
Sometimes I think people worry too much about the "brand" or the company that produced the figure..... it's an evolution of toys, it's grown and changed over the last 30 years.

I tell myself that Mattel Legends are part of my mixed collection, but I prefer Jakks figures & it would've been nice to get those guys in CS....I believe Jakks when they say WWE didn't allow them to go after certain people though (not to mention Steamboat had issues with his name for a long time) & Mattel will never come close to making 1/3 of Jakks Classics what's missing? Evil Crush Nailz Virgil (solo, boxer trunks & also striped tights) Skinner Power & Glory Headshrinkers Scott Steiner Quebecers M.O.M. Ludvig Borga 123 Kid (blue singlet) Smoking Gunns Bushwhackers (tan/brown camo) Orient Express The Patriot The Great Muta The New Foundation Jeff Jarrett (debut attire) Carlos Colon Big Bossman (do-over figure, Mattel def trumped Jakks on that one) Haku (multi-colored pants) Dino Bravo Jerry Saggs (without rubber coat) Repo Man (without rubber coat) Greg Valentine (yellow trunks) Hacksaw (USA singlet) The Gooker Norman Smiley (both in trunks & hockey jersey/football pads/cheese head) Kwang Owen Hart (koh & blue blazer) Bob Backlund (1990's version, longer hair, older) The Great Kabuki Genechiro Tenryu Bull Nakano Alundra Blayze Rockers (green & purple w/o shirts) Max Moon Tugboat The Red Rooster Ronnie Garvin Heavenly Bodies Beverly Brothers

Sometimes I think people worry too much about the "brand" or the company that produced the figure..... it's an evolution of toys, it's grown and changed over the last 30 years. This. I remember as a kid I would play with my action figures. I would have all kinds of different brands and styles of figures but I just enjoyed them so much it didnt matter to me. I would play with my LJNs, Hasbros, dollar store figures, Ninja turtles, Silver Hawks, and Heman toys all at once. I never cared that they were a mishmash of different brands. I was just a kid happy to have toys. A lot of people forget that toys are meant for children to enjoy above all. As collectors Jakks kind of spoiled us adults by releasing figures of characters we remembered from our childhood. I think a lot of us want Mattel to continue that trend of trying to please the older toy collectors but Mattel focuses more on the children. So some of us tend to frown on Mattel for not releasing more of the older characters, I know I do. My favorite argument against Jakks is when people put Jakks down for not being to scale. Please realize that Mattel made figures to "scale" just to have something different from Jakks. In no other Mattel line do they create toys to scale, not even in Hotwheels where I think scale is much more important. Back to my point though. I think the scale argument is silly because Hasbro's came out no one bashed LJN for having no articulation. When Jakks came out no one bashed Hasbros for limited articulation. People were just smart enough to know, with time comes new details. When I see people bash Jakks for not being to scale it reminds me of a child bashing an older car for not having USB ports. It makes them sound immature and childish.

I really like and agree with this. Although its cool to get everyone in the same scale and style, i think its fine to keep and enjoy your older figures. I think its cool to have figures from the various different lines through wrestling figure history. I mix my Jakks TTLs and RAs and Mattels in my main collection, but also have Hasbros, Bend Ems, Galoob, LJNs, Toybiz WCW, etc in my collection.
