nail polish remover, but you have to do it carefully, or you can sand it off with sandpaper

I think sandpaper would be your best bet. The nail polish remover was something I did when I first started to make figures and it was decent at best. I used sandpaper on a Snitsky figure to make Mike Awesome and it worked great. Dab some sealer on it when you get done and the color won't be so off.

Nail Polish Remover can warp plastic and sandpaper tends to leave behind gritty surfaces. I used an exacto blade and lightly scrapped off the tats. I also did that recently on a custom using a Snitsky body. As long as you don't use too much pressure, it looks fine.

If you put sealer over the part where you sanded, some of the color will come back and the grittyness will go away. When I used nail polish remover, it'd make the plastic feel weird and usually smear more than take away paint.
