I don't even watch SmackDown anymore. That's what WWE gets for having a prerecorded show I have to be honest, I tend to skip it more often than not these days as well.

I still think the move to Friday nights put the nail in the coffin for SmackDown. Thursday nights were just fine.

with no brand split, no separate rosters...all that's ever on smackdown is the same matches we saw on RAW or very similar. i havent watched smackdown in like 8 months (i read spoilers) and dont feel like ive missed anything
however it still does GREAT ratings considering what it is, where it's on, and how TV viewership has changed....so i dont see them getting rid of it any time soon.

Smackdown hasn't been a big deal to me since like 2002 . . . I miss when there was a point to watching it bc it was captivating and not a complete rehash and highlight reel of Raw.

Smackdown should be switched to a live show on Tuesdays on the Network and Main Event can move to Wednesday or Friday. Even reading the spoilers doesn't make me excited for Smackdown anymore. SD has been dead since before the Brand Split ended. Its literally become the Swagger/Rhodes/Goldust/Rybaxel/Cesaro/Kofi show. You almost never see any of the people in major feuds on SD anymore (Cena, Orton, Batista, Triple H, Wyatt, Kane, Daniel Bryan)

Smackdown was only 'must see TV' from 2002 when the brand split happened till around 2005, and even then it was getting bad.
The only time Smackdown was great was during the late 2002 era through 2003. When guys like Angle, Lesnar, Benoit, Kidman, Los Guerreros, Haas & Benjamin, Matt Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Edge, Rhyno and Undertaker ruled the show.

SmackDown is pointless nowadays.

Smackdown in 2004/05 was A show. Kind of sad to see how far that show has fallen. I have zero interest in watching it anymore. I even skip it when it comes to town.

I was at that Hershey SD Taping as well, and was seriously underwhelmed. I actually enjoyed Main Event that night more than SD! only worthwhile things were seeing the Shield and the Wyatt's in person.

If it was live and not just a filler show, I would tune in every week.

It hasn't been must see since 2005. 2009 says hi. Ahh I loved 2009 Smackdown. CM Punk, Jeff Hardy, Edge, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio and John Morrison formed a lesser "Smackdown Six" than the one we saw in 2003ish. However, there was a lot of good on Smackdown at the time. Drew McIntyre, The Hart Dynasty, Dolph Ziggler and a few others were all fun to watch.

It's been YEARS since I've actually sat down and watched Smackdown. They need to bring the old stage back and bring it back to Thursdays. Or at least make it live and not pre taped. It's like Raw but Blue and not as interesting.

Vince essentially got on a Bad News Barrett-esque podium and stated that RAW is the only show where anything of interest happens....they really can't expect anything more.
