You are 100% right. They do have that freedom. I just think that to label someone a douche because they don't want to interact with fans on their own time is ridiculous. I got to meet Punk at a convention during his title reign and he was very polite and even a little talkative. It was a place where he agreed (and, granted, was paid) to be and to interact with fans. Some people (not referencing you) just don't see the distinction between that and approaching someone at an airport. As far as the speculating, I do the same thing. I have my own theories just like everyone else, I just don't like "we all know he left because..." We don't know. It's just an opinion on why he left. One person says Punk was in a lot of pain everyday. One says he was burned out. One says he left because he was going to have to fight HHH. One says he was jealous of Bryan. One says he was mad he didn't end the streak. I'm not sticking my head in the sand. There's just too many differing stories out there. By no means do I think Punk is a victim, innocent or otherwise. I'm just saying no one knows for sure. And I agree that calling him a douche for wanting privacy is a bit extreme. I know he can be friendly when he wants to. It's just a shame that he has such a massive fan base and he can't do it more often. As far as "he left because" I have to say look at what you wrote. Jericho, Michaels, JR, Austin, Foley and several others haven't said just one of those things, they've said them all, and half of those guys said it with a grin while using the word "aledgedly" and I'd think they would be the best ones to do the speculating.
Just some bitch wanting her 5 minutes of fame. Move along, nothing to see here. Yeah, except that this "bitch" happens to be his well known best friend who was all over his DVD and is very close to him. I'd hardly call her statement nothing to see I'll defer to you on that part. I've just read summaries of what they've said. I haven't actually watched any of the pod casts or interviews they were on.

If he wants to just fade away into obscurity, and have the general public lose interest in him, maybe he shouldn't be appearing on Talking Dead, or doing the intermission show at the Blackhawks playoff game...

I don't hold those individual's comments as law, but it's just hard to believe that they could be very far off considering who they're friends with behind the scenes. Also, rereading your post and mine I realize it looks as though I'm refering to you with the "head in the sand" comment and I wasn't. You're obviously trying to be fair. My comment was directed at those that continue to dismiss any of those comments on why he left as being a possibility, instead holding out hope that we will someday find out that the WWE was solely at fault and did Punk wrong. Thanks for having a civil conversation! So often too many comments are taken personal during a debate and hateful comments are made.

Punk is one of my all time favorites, but it's not worth being hateful over. I just wanted to get an opposing view point out there.

CM Punk, Chris Jericho, The Rock and others do not owe the fans anything.
They do not have to keep wrestling when they don't want to. They don't have to work their schedule around pleasing the fans. They shouldn't have to give a reason as to why they aren't wrestling.
Would they be where they are without the fans? No. But that does not mean fans get to have 24/7 access to that person. That does not give you the right to wait outside their home or find their flight number so you can wait in the airport for them (seems like stalking to me in both cases).
You wonder why CM Punk is so pissy all the time? It's because of people that don't know boundaries. And those "fans" ruin it for everyone else.

Doubt this is true. He'll be back sooner then we think.
If Punk were to officially retire forever then he is one big fool tbh. Is Punk really stupid enough to let the last image of him in the WWE being a Chokeslam through an announcers table by lame ass Corporate Kane?

I'd love for him to sign a contract extension to SummerSlam, return at Payback, wrestle Bryan at Money in the Bank & Battleground lose both and then the next night says he wants one last match tonight on RAW but then is attacked by Cesaro which leads to Punk vs Cesaro in a #1 Contenders match at SummerSlam where Punk loses to Cesaro and then leaves for good. it I'm off to do that in WWE 2k14.

I bet he's going to take time, go to Japan and do something he never really has. Maybe get the value in wrestling he's looking for. Retiring in wrestling is a pretty light phrase most of the time.

I call BS on this story. This chick is making Punk appear to be a bigger star than he really is. I don't even think The Rock or Hogan deal with weirdo stalkers like this and they're levels beyond Punk. Lol at fans hiding by his dumpster, Ridiculous. He's nothing special, WWE will keep pushing without him. I agree, and being from Chicago, particularly close to where Punk lives, I've seen him in person a few times on the cta and nobody said a WORD to him. Amazing. I know a lot of the "workers" in the indys here in Chicago as well and they would call BS on this story as well. If anyone is "camping" out by his dumpsters, it's the bums who can't get a dime by "The Exit". Nobody in Chicago really cares about CM Punks personal life.

People will leave him alone eventually. I'd feel bad for him if he wasn't such an ass.
