I ordered this figure back in February...feels like FOREVER
Was expecting the mid-may release but incredibly surprised at the early & fast shipping! I pre-ordered 2 of these Punks...one to keep MOC and one to keep loose with just the belt because the belt is awesome
With that said, I present....the ECW Champion- CM Punk
The packaging is AMAZING. As expected. The red box looks ing awesome, the graphics are great and this is the first exclusive to feature the new "Elite" design. 10/10 well done RSC
I love the backround insert. Would be an awesome display piece behind Punks
Here is the figure loose, and loaded-
Now for the accessories:
I will give them credit, the rubber shirt sucks because its alienrubberplastic....however it does fit better than most of the others I've come across and this is the first one I've had that snaps on the sides easily.
This was always one of my favorite Punk shirts...I dunno why but I just think it looked cool. The ECW mic was a nice little bonus. Shirt & mic overall a 6/10 and that's only because the shirt is rubber.
Lets get to the belt for a minute...
Ringside is VERY good at giving us belts for figures. This thing is incredible. It's SOOOO perfectly detailed. Right up to the strap having "texture" like leather. It's loose/stretchy so easily fit around a waist. The pain app is perfection. This belt alone is almost worth the price of the figure. It's that damn good. 10/10
Before I get to the figure, lets look at the head-
something about smiling face scans just never really plays out well with a wrestling figure. There always tends to be a bit of "goofy" in the face when they go for the smile. However in this case I'd rather a completely new & unique head over the Elite 1 "smirking" scan.
The scan here is good, not great. In person it does LOOK like Punk, but there's just that element of cheese I can't get past. I wish they could have given him the same expression as what's on the box, I bet that would have turned out MUCH better. The scan & hair are crisp and stand out on the shelf so it gets a 7/10 from me
The figure itself:
Overall its mostly the same details as other Elite Punks. Tattoos are colored the usual way, stomach tat is there. The fact that they put "PUNK" on the back of his trunks when he never, ever, ever, ever wore that really hurts this figure. I want accuracy, not fantasy. If they wanted to do that logo on his back they should have just given him the yellow tights.
However I really like the red attire. Red always looks good on WWE figures, the kickpad detail is nice too.
I also like that they gave him the right size kneepads, shame it took so long. They even went as far as putting black nailpolish on his fingers which he used to do quite often back in the day.
In the end there is certainly no lacking details here. It is incredibly well executed. I give it a 8.5/10 and the only reason it's not perfect is because of the stupid logo on the back that just flat out DOESNT belong there.
BEST.
