I LOVED the first two seasons. Season 3 started off alright but completely fell apart for me in the end. There was far too much Chang and almost every episode was a spoof of something in pop culture. It lost its edge, and the Chang storyline just turned me off so much. Watched the first half of four and was relieved as the show picked up a bit with Harmon gone, but I just lost interest after the first 7 or so episodes. It's a shame as it was arguably my favorite show in its first two seasons, but so many of the characters became second fiddle to niche characters like Abed and it's realm of fantasy got far too out of control. It almost took a Family Matters turn of events halfway through the third season and Abed turned into the Urkel

The part of this that sucks the most is what we ended up with as a series finale. It was a mediocre episode that didn't feel like a finale at all. It barely felt like a season finale.
And no, Abed saying that if the show doesn't return then a meteor destroyed everything doesn't count.

I loved this show. Smart, crazy, cool, so much goodness. I am thankful we got as much of it as we did - so many shows are being cancelled immediately, and almost all the new shows announced for the fall seem to be more of the boring old same stuff. Trophy Wife was really good but only got one season. Same with Outsourced.
But coming in here and telling us you never cared for this show after this sad news is pretty telling. Telling me I want nothing to do with ya. If you don't have anything nice to say, STFU (Cena's submission move)

Community was the best character-driven show on TV for most of its run. It's a shame that we're probably not going to get our #sixseasonsandamovie unless Netflix or Amazon pick the show up... it was a great run. I want to be Jeff Winger when I grow up.

I love this show (even the gas leak year) and was really disappointed to see it end. I'm hoping someone else picks it up, but i'm not counting on that.
If this is the end, at least it was a wonderful ride.

NBC would have been wise to give it a send-off season.
If they had a host of sure-fire hits lined up, then I could understand. But let's be honest here - NBC is in total disarray and it doesn't look to be getting any better. I could be wrong here, but I believe About A Boy is the first NBC freshman comedy to be picked up for a second season since Community in 2009. That's abysmal. Community doesn't pull in the big ratings, but it has a very loyal and passionate fan base who were likely driving traffic to some of NBC's other fledgling shows, more than they would have had otherwise.
Sometimes, it's better to go with what you have and what you know works, at least to some extent, rather than dumping money into yet another failed venture. Just my take.
Regardless, I hope Sony finds a suitor that wants to pick the show up and run with it, at least for one last season. Netflix would be a great contender.

I love Community. It's easily my favorite comedy series of all-time, especially the first three seasons (season four and five, not so much but five still provided one of my favorite episodes [Cooperative Polygraph] & I don't hate a lot of season four). At least I have Rick and Morty (I've only seen the first three episodes so far) to get me by while I await for something to hopefully gives us that sixth season.

Dan Harmon seems to think that the show is finished, and to be honest he doesn't even sound that enthusiastic about trying to find a second life for it right now. Maybe that will change in the next couple of months and they can find a home for the show. From what I understand, Hulu has the rights to the show IF they decide to keep it going... if not, I'd love for Comedy Central to give it a shot. I know they're doing some sort of syndication for it right now.

That's a shame, I loved Community. Being from the UK, I'm a season or two back, so I got a few to watch yet. Same with Parks and Rec, both good American shows.

Hulu and Sony have begun discussions about a sixth season of Community.
We can only hope.

I know this might sound lame sharing this, but I love the characters so much, they almost feel like they're my friends, the way they interact...here's hoping another season does see fruition...
