I had a question. A few of my old WWE Jakks figures have gotten sticky. They have been sitting on the shelf for a few years. What is the best way to go about cleaning them.

You could use baby wipes or the easier option water and a wet paper towel. Shouldn't ruin the paint since its just water. Good luck.

Hope this helps
You Will Need:
Baking soda
Water
Soft cloths
Steps to Remove the Stickiness:
Mix baking soda and water in a small dish to make a paste.
Use a soft cloth to rub the paste over the surface of the plastic. The baking soda will act as a mild abrasive and remove the sticky film.
Rinse completely with water.
Repeat if necessary.

I didn't start the thread, but for me... rubber robes & jackets are sticky now also, some of the figures trunks Virgil & Million Dollar Man CSTT are both bad off Jerry Saggs/Repo Man/Million Dollar Man CSDA etc. Also Kona Crush's knee pads & trunks...I think those newer style pads (Adam Bomb might've had them) Typhoon's rubber part of the outfit is a little sticky also

In the video he had a bucket in which a car with rubber tires was on top of a regular car. The rubber tire was resting on the other car's windshield. I cant remember if the windshield was melting away or the tire, but apparently after a while if the two materials are stuck together too long the materials have a reaction. Personally I took the vests and jackets off of my figures when I opened them. Mostly because I wanted to keep all the accessories together in a box so I wouldnt lose them. Now im wondering what condition my MOC figures are in after all these years.

I had a Michael Myers mask that I left in a very hot room in direct sunlight once. When I went back to get the mask it had melted together.

They have been sitting on a shelf for about 8 years. They weren't in extreme heat. All of the figures were very dusty though, so maybe that had something to do with it. I have about 50 of them and it was only 3 of them that were sticky.
The baby wipes worked perfectly, so thanks for that suggestion.
