+ The big news heading into Impact Wrestling's live debut on Pop in 72 hours time is TNA Hall of Fame inductee Kurt Angle re-signing with the company after departing when his contract expired back in September. Dave Meltzer is reporting that Pop network officials were the ones who ensured Kurt's return ahead of TNA's launch on the network this coming Tuesday. It is interesting to note that Pop are reportedly helping TNA pay Kurt's contract, which was the reason Kurt didn't resign when his contract initially ran out as TNA couldn't offer him what he was requesting. + TNA confirmed today that the 6-sided ring will be returning this Tuesday for their debut on Pop. The 6-sided ring has long been something TNA fans have requested to see return after if it was ditched when Hogan/Bischoff arrived on the scene back in January 2010. + IMPACTWRESTLING.com have updated their roster page and included new signings Kurt Angle, Drew Galloway, Kana and new color commentator Chael Sonnen on the page. The profiles of Jeff Jarrett (who lost a Loser Leaves Town match to EC3 on the final Spike broadcast), Taz and MMA fighters Tito Ortiz and Rampage Jackson have all been removed. In an interesting piece, MMA fighter King Mo's profile remains on the active roster page. + Following Tuesday's live Impact broadcast, TNA will tape in the Manhattan Center for a further 2 nights, taking them up to 1/27. TNA's annual UK tour kicks off in Manchester on 1/29, followed by a show in Glasgow on 30/1 and a final date in London on 30/1. Just like last year, all 3 dates on the tour will be Impact Wrestling tapings. + Dixie Carter noted on her Twitter page during a Q&A session that the only scheduled pay-per-views for this year are Slammiversary and Bound for Glory. Dates and locations for both shows have yet to be announced. Carter also teased that a new authority figure will be revealed on the live Pop broadcast. + Pop are high on TNA and are expected to introduce more programming to their weekly schedule. Currently, Xplosion only airs to international markets as predominantly an Impact Wrestling recap show with one exclusive match. It is expected Xplosion will get a revamp at some point into being a fully fledged second show. Already Pop have confirmed Impact Wrestling: Unlocked will air Saturday mornings, fronted by Mike Tenay (who will be replaced by Jeremy Borash on play-by-play on Impact). IW: Unlocked is a recap show hosted by Tenay with a weekly Top 5 countdown of the TNA roster.

#ImpactOnPop on Jan. 6, 2015 @ New York City, NY. — Episode #546
The show comes on-air with an excellent video packaging hyping the broadcast and showcasing some of TNA's most memorable moments (Unbreakable triple threat between Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles, Elix Skipper walking the cage, etc.) before finishing with a promo shot of Bobby Roode holding the TNA World Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder. We then go LIVE inside the Manhattan Center in New York City as the camera pans around, showcasing the return of the eagerly anticipated 6-sided ring! On-top of the new ring, we have an entirely new Impact Wrestling logo alongside graphics. Jeremy Borash and Chael Sonnen are on-hand ready to call all of tonight's action on Impact Wrestling's Pop debut!
1.) Manik, Tajiri and X-Division Champion, Rockstar Spud defeat Ultimate Tiger, Low-Ki and Chris Sabin. Kicking things off with the X-Division was a good idea in order to hold the interest of potential new fans. Ultimate Tiger remains a face character despite teaming with 2 heel guys here. The champ picked up the win for him and his team after connecting with the Underdog at 6:33 on Sabin.
Dixie Carter is shown making her way down the hallway backstage. Why is Dixie here in New York City and what does she have to say? Find out after this...
Commercial Break
Back from the break and Dixie Carter is already in the 6-sided ring, not receiving the warmest of receptions from the hostile Manhattan crowd. She addresses the fact that we haven't seen her since Team Dixie lost the Lethal Lockdown match for control of TNA Wrestling back in March to Team Jarrett. However, due to Jeff Jarrett losing to her nephew Ethan Carter III back in November and forcing him out of the door, TNA management have decided to reinstate Dixie as President! The crowd boo even more. She says that she learned from her past mistakes in running the show which is why she went out of her way to find someone to call all of the shots week in, week out here on Impact Wrestling. Without any further ado, Dixie asks for us to give a warm welcome to our new General Manager... Sting!
Sting comes out (in a suit and sans facepaint) to a big pop as he wasn't advertised to appear tonight given dirtsheets recently reporting that he was done with the company. Sting hugs Dixie before she exits, leaving Sting to it. He thanks TNA management and Dixie for giving him this opportunity. He promises to be fair and call things down the middle — something that management before him have continuously failed to do. James Storm, the man who beat Sting on the final Impact Wrestling on Spike back in November, cuts the GM off as he comes down the ramp. Storm says that it's nice to see a washed up guy like Sting finally take a backseat and allow the new generation to step up and lead Impact Wrestling into the future. But what Storm is out there to ask is if the Last Call superkick he gave Sting that put him down for the 1,2,3 maybe knocked him loopy as he arrived at the Manhattan Center today to find out that he doesn't have a TNA World Heavyweight Title shot but instead Austin Aries does? Storm says he deserves it. Sting first off reminds Storm that Aries is cashing in the contract that entitles him to a title shot. Secondly, Storm needs to earn the right to fight for the World Title. He's yet to see Storm insert himself into the championship picture. Before Storm can respond, the music of Jeff Hardy hits and he comes to the ring. Hardy and Storm go back and forth on the mic until Storm has heard enough and swings at Hardy but he is able to dodge it. The men exchange blows before Jeff goes for the Twist of Fate but Storm shoves him off into the ropes and attempts to connect with the Last Call on the rebound but Hardy once again is able to dodge it. Storm then turns around and walks right into the Twist of Fate! Hardy climbs the turnbuckle for the Swanton Bomb but Storm rolls out of the ring before Jeff is able to do anything as the crowd shower him with boos. We then cut to a commercial.
Commercial Break
We are shown footage shot earlier today of the Olympic gold medallist Kurt Angle arriving at the Manhattan Center after it was announced on IMPACTWRESTLING.com last week that he had come to terms on an agreement of a new contract with TNA.
An on-screen graphic highlights the signing of Japanese female pro wrestler Kana to a TNA Wrestling contract! Kana will be here in the Manhattan Center next week.
2.) Knockouts Champion, Ivelisse defeats Taryn Terrell in a Lumberjack match to retain. The lovely and lethal TNA Knockouts take centre stage next as Terrell finally gets her one-on-one title shot here tonight. Every female under contract except Lei'D Tapa (on excursion in Japan), Rebel, Christy Hemme and Katrina were at ringside. Taryn gives her all but it's just not enough tonight as Ivelisse shows us exactly why she is the champ when she makes her tap to a Guillotine choke at 5:20.
- Successful title defense(s): 8
Ivelisse snatches her gold from the official before leaving the ring and heading to the back alongside her Anti-Knockout team mates Jade and Alyssa Flash as the camera cuts between several of the Knockouts roster who all look irked.
Backstage we are introduced to new backstage correspondent Ryan Nemeth who is standing by with Austin Aries, who will cash in his contract that entitles him to a TNA World Heavyweight Championship match tonight. Aries says that he knows Bobby Roode like the back of his hand given their past run in which they were tag champs twice. Aries knows what it's like to be the World Champ and because he's tasted it before, it's made him just that damn bit more hungrier to taste it again!
Commercial Break
A video airs promoting TNA's upcoming tour of the United Kingdom in which every date is an Impact Wrestling taping! 29/1—31/1 in Glasgow, Manchester and London.
Back inside the Manhattan Center and Kurt Angle makes his entrance but he is not dressed to compete. He talks about how it's great to be back in an Impact Wrestling ring — even more so now that it's a 6-sided ring! He says that he enjoyed his few months off at home but when he got the call from John Gaburick about making a ret-... "Who the hell is that?!", wonders Borash. A mystery man blindsides Angle from behind and behinds putting the boots to him. The man looks up into the hard camera and we get a better look: it's Drew Galloway! Angle begins to fight back but a vicious knee to the side of Kurt's head not only busts him open but knocks him down again. Galloway isn't finished there though as he picks Kurt up before spiking him with the Future Shock DDT! Some guys from the back begin to pour down the rampway and into the ring but the damage has been done. Drew extends both his arms and looks up to the rafters above a fallen Angle, who is out cold behind him.
Commercial Break
We quickly recap what just happened between the returning Kurt Angle and the debuting Drew Galloway before the break before we then see Drew heading down the hall. Ryan Nemeth tries catching up with him for a word but he is ignored.
TNA World Heavyweight Champion, "The It Factor" Bobby Roode is shown getting prepared for his title defense against Austin Aries in tonight's main event. The cameraman asks for his thoughts. Roode says that Aries might be hungry—but he is hungrier! Bobby says that there is a reason he is the best in the World at what he does and the TNA World Heavyweight title belt proves that! Roode taps the title.
Sonnen and Borash talk over some footage being shown of Magnus going berzerk on the final Spike episode back in November. The pair remind us that TNA management suspended former World Heavyweight Champion Magnus indefinitely, without pay.
We get word from Borash, who sends it to the back where he understands there is some commotion involving Shark Boy. The camera cuts to the back where Shark Boy is laying out cold on the concrete floor! Seiya Sanada and Brian Cage are first on the scene as they check on Sharky whilst yelling for help. Who the hell did this?!
Commercial Break
3.) TNA World Tag Team Champions, The Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) defeat The BroMans (DJ Z & Robbie E. with Jessie Godderz and Brooke Tessmacher) in a non-title match. The BroMans have become even more self-absorbed (believe it or not!) since Robbie and Brooke made their return to TNA programming following a stint on CBS' The Amazing Race. Fun tag bout here that done its job in introducing fans to the tag champs. The Wolves win at 7:01.
Godderz, Tessmacher and Robbie help DJ Z out of the ring, who is selling the effects of the Force of Nature. The BroMans are going to have to return to the drawing board and come up with a plan B, C and D if they are looking to topple The Wolves.
Commercial Break
When we return, Borash and Sonnen discuss what a night it has been thus far and we still have so much more to come! The camera then cuts away from them to current Bellator MMA fighter and former TNA Wrestling star, Bobby Lashley who is sitting front and centre in the crowd with his kids! He is 2-0 in Bellator at present.
The music of Ethan Carter III starts up and the ever-cocky nephew of TNA President, Dixie Carter swaggers out alongside his girlfriend, Katrina. Before he climbs onto the apron, Carter heads over to Bobby Lashley, who immediately gets to his feet as the pair have a staredown before EC3 shrugs him off and slides into the ring. Carter cuts a promo on how he ran Jeff Jarrett out of the house he helped to build back in November by pinning him 1...2...3 and it felt so damn good. Before Carter can go on, the music of his opponent, Brian Cage, hits. Cage gets in the ring and says that he's here to wrestle, not for EC3 to sit and run his mouth!
4.) Ethan Carter III (with Katrina) defeats Brian Cage. Arguably two of TNA's best in action here for this one. They put on an exciting contest that had the New York-strong crowd on their feet. Carter takes Cage down but instead of going for the cover, he begins taunting Bobby Lashley, who is sitting ringside, from inside the ring. "The F'n' Machine" capitalizes and rolls EC3 up from behind and almost gets the win but Carter kicks out at 2.9! Both men continue to go back and forth but ultimately it's Carter walking out of here with the W after the One Percenter.
Both Katrina and the official Brian Hebner raise the hands of EC3 in victory as they stand over Brian Cage, who is still down and out. Carter and Katrina exit the ring but before they head to the back, Ethan mutters something at Lashley which provokes him to once again get out of his seat but this time he hops the guardrail! Ethan and Katrina quickly scatter as security appear, forcing Lashley to hop back over the rail.
Commercial Break
We see a split screen of both Bobby Roode and Austin Aries making their way to ringside. Sonnen then sends it to the guys in the truck, who roll the video package.
A video plays reliving Roode and Aries' TNA careers. The video includes their time together as TNA World Tag Team Champions and their solo careers right up 'til now.
5.) TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Bobby Roode defeats Austin Aries to retain. This match will go down in the history books and not because it was the main event on the first ever Pop show but because it was a mat classic. There were times that it looked as if Aries had the match in the bag and to start his second reign as TNA World Heavyweight Champion. In an interesting note, Aries defeated Roode to win the TNA World Title back in 2012. Roode was able to pick up the win and retain his gold after forcing Aries to submit to a Crossface.
- Successful title defense(s): 2
Impact Wrestling's first ever broadcast on Pop fades to black with the image of Roode raising the World Title belt high in the centre of the ring.
