So I don't collect figures anymore (mostly due to price) but while out doing some shopping earlier today, I decided to check the toy aisles just out of curiosity.
I happened to stumble upon the Wrestlemania 30 Elite Flashback Bret Hart & Shawn Michaels figures. I must say they looked awesome! I love HBK's Wrestlemania 14 DX attire and Bret's Wrestlemania 10 attire with belt and sunglasses looked good also.
However, I observed the price ($18.98) and also noticed Bret didn't come with elbow pads for some reason??? Now this, I'm sure, is minor to a lot of collectors since it would be easy to just swap elbow pads from another figure but...I don't have another figure. To me, I'd rather Bret come without the title belt or sunglasses if that meant he had elbow pads. It just seemed so strange to me. Anyway, I didn't end up purchasing the figures but I have to give Mattel credit for coming VERY close to sucking me back in to the game. If Bret had elbow pads, I probably would've picked him up along with HBK.
I've made a couple posts in here recently about figures which means I'm probably getting the itch to collect again but it can become an expensive hobby. However, Mattel is doing a great job of keeping my interest in figures where Jakks caused me to lose it.

OP, are you high as a kite? He's a police officer! You can't say that to him! Haha I picked up bot WMXXX figures. Both are almost perfect. I wish Bret came with elbow pads too but luckily I have spares to put on him. I do think that at $20, they should've been included too. |

Lol he's a cop there's no way he'd get high.....or would he. Haha no thanks. Anyway, is it weird that Bret not having elbow pads bugged me? I've seen 1,000 Bret Hart matches and never saw him wrestle once without elbow pads. There were lots of times where he didn't have sunglasses, a jacket or a belt but he always had elbow pads. I dunno, it was just a strange choice to package him without any, IMO. |
