Im trying to free up space in my tiny living room, right now my collection is spread over roughly 5 racks that only reach up to my chest and while it looks cool it takes up a lot of room.
Ive seen some nice cabinets, but cant seem to find one that might suit my needs, my collection is close to 700 DVDs and growing, including larger cases of TV seasons and my Sopranos boxset. ny suggestions for my fellow DVD hounds?

Donate all your blu-rays to me. That'll free up some room.

A buddy of mine had the same problem so he just bought those cd binders and put all his dvds in there and threw out the cases. He has over a 1000 dvds in about three binders that take up no room. His rational is "why do I need the case for? The title of the movie is on the dvd!"
lol

Go to Ikea and buy bigger shelving. But that's really the only thing you can do, is buy bigger more expansive shelving.

I got a Billy bookcase from there for £35 and it holds pretty much my whole collection. In my picture below there are the same amount of DVDs behind the front rows so you could probably easily get about 700 DVDs in there if you don't mind half of them being hidden behind. ![](http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b116/gavscsa/f9c76f90-9476-4247-9db6-4b82ed5c6a0f.jpg)

Get rid of the cases, bite your tongue lol half the appeal of my collection is the look of the rows and of beautiful display cases, the amazing artwork on some of them.
Same goes for stacking them double deep, I'm too lazy to pull DVDs out to find what I'm looking fir

If you are on a budget, I'd recommend IKEA, Walmart, Big Lots, or perhaps even a second hand store.

I have a large walmart bookcase... it worked great for the 4 or so years ive had it but now its filled to the brim. I have DVD's I havent actually seen visually in like two years because theyre blocked by stacks i had to put in front of it.
Im not exactly in the market for new shelves just yet but I used to look around quite a bit. Hopefully someone posts something good. But as said the best ones are gonna cost a pretty penny.

I have two of the: "Atlantic 38435715 Oskar / 1080 CD / 504 DVD / 576 Blu-ray Multimedia Storage Rack", might need to buy a third. ![](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/59375321/WFigs/Messages/IMG_0187.JPG)
