I figure this was made from a Jakks product, so makes sense to put it here, I wonder how long til the WFigs Reich gets up in arms lol sorry if another company has something RSC doesnt, thats life. Decided to spend some of my Bill Me Later balance in celebration of my new job, Ill have 6 months to pay it off so no biggie.
My Scale Ring came in today, along with the "ultimate x" rig, as well as a stack of tables and a chain Im planning to make for dog collar matches.
Few things. The ringposts are sturdy and metal just like the original RSRs. The turnbuckle pads are pre stuffed which is nice, and setting them up is pretty simple. The trurnbuckles themselves are same as the Jakks ones, the little covers could be better, Im thinking of getting some heat shrink tubing for them. The ring mat took some work to get on, I think it needs to stretch a bit, seems a little small. The steps that come with the ring are awesome, the same as the steps that came with the WM1 ring and the RSC weapons pack, theyre one color so I might paint them and try to give them some texture. Overall the ring is definitely just as good as my Jakks RSRs.
The X structure isnt the best design. The fact that it uses zipties that arent reusable to secure the beams to the ringposts is a bit of a downer. The fact that the posts are round, its nearly impossible to keep the beams upright while trying to put the rope along the tops. As far as Ultimate X goes, I think Ill stick to my wirehanger setup to avoid frustration. But the upside is I can use the beams and all for my Scaffold match setup, which is why I bought it honestly lol, and of course I had to put my LOD customs on the scaffold.
I used the zipties to hold two of the beams together on each side, and used the rope to keep them together under the ring, and I wedge the scaffold poles in the top. Still money well spent. Ill take some pics tomorrow with all of my tables in the ring. The tables are just like my original Jakks ones, but the table legs are kind of loose. I think I can use the hot water trick to slightly bend in the tops of the legs to tighten them up, gonna see how that goes, gonna paint the tops so they match my other ones. Im now up to 18 tables, along with my 4 tall ladders and 2 original Jakks announcers tables.
Between this and my latest customs yesterday, I think my collecting bug is coming back.
