I'm not surprised at all.
The WWE Network is only available to American's, so unless you are getting illegally from the UK or Canada, then those are two big areas that aren't buying the Network.
Vince should have just kept the WWE Classics On Demand and monthly ppvs via cable and satellite companies. The WWE Network better become something greater than what it is right now, or Vince will just keep losing money.

How did you expect not to lose money.. 10 dollars a month and the first 6 months is free which includes Wrestlemania which is WWE's most bought PPV.. You gotta have rocks in your heads to not think that one through. I swear, some of these people who work for WWE including Vince only have a head to keep the rain from getting in their neck

I'd be shocked if heads didn't roll over this Game O' Thrones style...

You can't spend 10 years catering to kids and then act surprised when something aimed at older fans doesn't succeed.

WWE Network would have been better off as a cable channel

Hmmmm.....many "Financial folks" stateside predicted this would happen and that it may not have been thought through to the extent needed for a project this big.

I expected them to lose money with this with the lost of PPV revenue from Dish and Direct TV. It was a major risk, but I'm gonna stay positive and say that this will start making money by the beginning of next year. I honestly don't see this being another XFL deal. If it does, I'll be disappointed.

Yeah who didn't see this coming from a mile away.
The network only catered to the die hard fans. The ones who bought the PPVs every month anyway. It would have been a LOT more profitable for Vince if it didn't include the PPVs.

Well it's a great deal for us as fans. No way in hell was I paying those crazy prices for PPVs which weren't that great. Now for ten bucks a month we get the PPVs, a ton of old stuff, and some new shows like NXT? Well worth it for just a couple bucks more than Classics on Demand that I had for years.
But Vince was selling some garbage to greedy grubby suits and it failed. I wonder when greed is just gonna tear this whole world down.

where'd you get the idea that the first six months were/are free? Didn't it say that? No, it never said that the first 6 months were free. I'm not sure if you're talking about the free one week trials or the fact that there's a 6 month commitment to the Network when signing up, but never was the first 6 months ever advertised as free.

where'd you get the idea that the first six months were/are free? Didn't it say that? There was a week trial, that was extended to two weeks when Xbox was giving a ton of issues. Every free trial expired before Wrestlemania. When you subscribe, you have to commit to six months at $10 a month. Meaning you couldn't just subscribe for Mania, pay $10, then cancel.

Okay my mistake, but it's still stupid since Mania is the most bought PPV and now a good portion of the audience only paid 10 dollars instead of 50-60 which could add up to a lot of lost revenue depending on how many people used the network to watch it

WWE Network would have been better off as a cable channel Maybe it could have been better off on cable because of the idea of sponsors and all, but none of the cable companies wanted the Network. I honestly believe it would have been another Classis on Demand if it were on cable. I actually like that we got it as an online thing. I think it will make money in the long run and the money lost was because of the launch, the money to fix bugs, etc. I'm actually not against WWE having a few commercials during the live stream. I'm not talking about whenever they have like 20 minutes till the next show to have all commercials, but let's just say there's 3-4 minutes left till the next show starts on the live stream, they could have a couple advertisements and still have a couple of those WWE type commercials for PPVs/upcoming shows. Sure it would be a pain for fans, but it could make the Network a little more profitable if they do this. I know I'll get a lot of disagreements, but it's something I would do to make some money other than subscription money for the Network.
