WWE has had an offer on the table for Ric Flair to return as a regular television character, which recently led to Flair getting scheduled for a full cardiovascular physical before the company would use him on TV. Flair has been working out, currently weighing around 230 pounds, and wants to get down to 225 lbs. before his TV return.
As far as what role Flair will play when he does return, there's been some discussion of putting him with The Miz. The feeling is that Flair could help elevate Miz to becoming a top-tier performer for the company, although some are of the belief that pairing Flair with The Miz would be wasting Flair's value.
Flair himself has reportedly requested to manage Dolph Ziggler, although WWE hasn't seemed to want to push Ziggler lately, so it's considered unlikely that they will go with a Flair-Ziggler duo.
----------------------------------------
As we previously reported, Ric Flair is due back in WWE soon and will manage someone on the active roster. The previous report said that Flair wanted to work with Dolph Ziggler, but that idea has now been shot down by WWE.

WWE shooting something down that'll take Ziggler to the next level? Gasp.

Being a huge Ziggler fan, this really disappoints me. Such a stupid move. If I was Flair, I'd tell them to either give me Ziggler or I'm out the door.

Ziggler is a great ring worker but he's missing something that I cant put my finger on. Having Flair as a mouth piece might just be that piece that puts him over the top.
I hope Flair doesnt get stuck with Miz. Miz is a complete waste.

What the hell goes through the heads of creative? Seriously though, I've asked this before, but is there an online application for WWE creative? SEND ME THE LINK! So dumb on WWE's part...

Flair managing Ziggler will be good. It would be perfect.

You just need to go to jobs.wwe.com and apply for "Creative Writer." But they require something like 5 years of TV writing experience.

If there's an actual website for a WWE application, you caught me off guard.

Miz is such a waste. He was given the Wrestlemania main even and sh*t the bed and he proved he is mediocre.
Why waste Flair on a failure when you can pair him with a guy that hasn't even been to that main event level yet

they want to elevate Miz as a top tier performer....
he main evented Wrestlemania and WON as the WWE Champion a couple years ago how much more elevation do you need? maybe if they didnt drop him off the face of the earth with no explanation and give him a face turn that again had no explanation or reason...
We need to all just face facts, Ziggler is never getting anywhere. There HAS to be a reason for this that we (the fans) just don't know. Ziggler is going to go down in history as just another Mr Perfect, Ted DiBiase, Roddy Piper, Razor Ramon... a guy who is looked at as one of the greats, but never was given the keys to the kingdom (neglecting Zigglers shitty WHC reign is a must because thats what it was)

...as much as I'd like to see the worst figure-four in the history of wrestling on a weekly basis...no thanks.

Well I don't mind The Miz, but Ziggler is the one who needs Flair the most. If the fans really want Ziggler to be pushed, then instead of cheering for CM Punk in matches he's not in, do that for Ziggler.

Didnt Ziggler date Nikki Bella before Cena? Maybe that has something to do with it.

Ziggler will take a lot of time to rebuild too folks......and don't be too quick to pair him with Flair and call it "best thing ever" if he was Ziggler's mouthpiece.
Flair spent heaps of him time in TNA getting HIMSELF over at the expense of Fortune. He spent months screaming and wailing incomprehensibly like a beetroot faced loon while Fortune were made to stand silent.....to the benfit of NOBODY.
My faith in WWE to do anything of note with Ziggler has expired for now. When comedy character Santino " hardly ever on TV" Marella was allowed to eliminate him from the U.S. title Battle Royale with his idiotic finisher I groaned for Zigglers future prospects.

It's simple Miz probably turns on Flair at some point & Dolph makes the save.

If Flair comes back, I only want to see him with Evolution. It's the only possible value he can offer the product at this point in time.
Ziggler doesn't need a mouthpiece that can't form words properly, he just needs to be given a chance to shine. If he were to be given a manager, he'd be better off with a bodyguard type of manager.

It's simple Miz probably turns on Flair at some point & Dolph makes the save. That makes the most sense to me. Miz can talk, he can project a character, he can get himself over when he's motivated -- or at least, he could in 2009/2010. If he's lost the ability or desire to do that anymore, then Flair won't help him anyway. And he works much better as a bad guy. Might as well have him turn on Flair and Flair's new guy do the save. Ziggler needs the help from Flair more. But I'm not sure how much help Flair is at this point. On the WrestleMania week panels, he was absolutely appalling. He just started putting himself and his buddies over and kind of dismissing the storylines he was meant to be pushing. When he did that thing on Raw the other week, he was very disjointed in trying to put The Shield over. I think at best, Flair would outshine Ziggler. At worst, he'd embarrass him. Plus, at this point, I don't know that WWE cares about doing anything with Miz or Ziggler. They're both guys that had their shot and ended up in midcard, nothing-happening wasteland. I guess Miz has the movie to promote though.

Being a huge Ziggler fan, this really disappoints me. Such a stupid move. If I was Flair, I'd tell them to either give me Ziggler or I'm out the door. Not if you had Flair's debts, expensive lifestyle and addiction to the limelight, you wouldn't. He's in no position to dictate his own storylines at this point.
