I've lost a lot of respect for him after all this. Very unprofessional and shows just how much of a damn he DOESNT give about his fans that made it possible for him to live the life he has. Still one of my favorites as far as entertainment but as a person, he's a chump.

I still think he'll be back at some point. And let's face it; no matter what he says, live crowds are still going to chant his name at every show because they want him back and things have gone from really bad to flat out terrible since he left.

A bit suspicious that this article would confirmed he is "retired" giving the people the confirmed closure they were expecting... just a few days before payback

Regardless of how I feel about the manner in which he departed, CM Punk is still my favorite pro wrestler of all-time. If he can retire peacefully and live comfortably, then I'm happy for him. I just wish that his incredible career had an appropriate conclusion.

I'm hapy for him. Fans are ungrateful and always want more. Guy left on his terms and doesn't owe anyone anything. Most guys that retire do so before their contracts end by the way.

Wait, he's retired? I thought Vince and Triple H just hated him and weren't agreeing to let him come back until more people chanted for him.... I kid, I kid. In all seriousness, good for him. Walking away from it before it completely destroys his body and personality. His career had peaked, his performances were getting really bad, and he made the right call. This blog by his cake-making friend Natalie Slater was published over two weeks ago, btw:

It's about caring enough to handle things professionally and being humble. He's made himself look really bad in all this. Anyone that doesn't feel the same most likely shares the same traits. He basically proved that WWE made the right decision in not choosing him to lead the company.

he never actually said, I am retired. He just didn't refute it when asked the question. Personally, I will be shocked if we never see him wrestle again. I think in another 6-8 months he will be rested, and healed and have the passion back again. If not, and he truly is retired, then good for him. He doesn't owe the fans anything other than what he already gave us. Would it be nice if he or the WWE came out and said it? Sure. But it's not owed to us. I like him just fine, but I don't think his returning right now would save the current product, or even really help much at all. until the writers get their heads out of their ass, no talent can turn things around.

After reading Michelle Beadles interview about him he can stay as gone as he wants. What a grade A piece of garbage.

If he appreciated his fans and what they've done for him, he'd feel like he owed them a lot more than what they've gotten since his departure. The only thing he ever owed us was a great performance whenever we bought a ticket or PPV to see him perform. For the last six months or so of his career, he wasn't doing that (apart from the Lesnar match). I'm glad we didn't get another six months of broken-down, half-assed performances where he was in pain and would rather have been chilling at home. We don't own the guy. We own little plastic versions of him, but we don't own the man. I don't think anybody was ever dense enough to think that they ever made the wrong decision there. Punk was never the guy to be the face of the company. His attitude has always been as bad as his look. Punk was a really good number two, though -- he appealed to the "I hate everything" teenage crowd and he often put in great performances (at least up until he really lost a step after WrestleMania 29)... He was the "alternative" guy, he never had the skillset or the appeal to be the face of the company but that doesn't matter. He was a really good number two.

He was never going to be Hulk Hogan, but he was a damn good Randy Savage.

I even typed "he was a good Macho Man to Cena's Hulkster" and backspaced it. I think it's the best way to describe it. Hell I bet even Punk would agree and be happy with that seeing as he was a Savage fan himself.
