Those of us who still go out, drive around and hit the local shops to find figs know what I am talking about. That moment when you come upon a treasure. It is one of the greatest feelings associated with our love of collecting. So, lets share about some. Here are a few of mine.
Trip to Value Village. There is usually SOME kind of wrestling jargon somewhere in the store. An old magazine, a book or video game. But sometimes there are treasures too. The greatest finds for me have been a mint Hasbro Dusty and an Elite 6 Batista. I couldn't get those guys bought fast enough and back home to the old collection.
Kmart closes. It really is a shame that we lost this chain. It was mostly full of junk I admit...but it was pretty good at stocking WWE products. I remember rolling down to the local Kmart after work in college and snapping up the latest Jakks BCA lines when they would get released (back in the day you could grab a whole line of figs for $30-$40...sigh....). They continued to be pretty good right till the end. Here in Canada they were the only place besides local comic shops and TRU that you could find Elites, and when they went out of business, though it was sad, there were DEALS to be found everywhere. Jakks Classic Ring with Blue Cage for $9.99, Mattel Flashback Macho Man and Ultimate Warrior for $12 each. Heart jumps out of chest!! Still two of my favorite figs in my collection.
Routine drive down across the border into the USA to a store we have out here in the west called Fred Meyer. It's like a Walmart, but less mainstream/global. WWE figure assortment and variety can be dodgy at best, and often they don't have more than a dozen figs on the pegs at any one time. We have two Fred Meyer's close by, and on one glorious day...most likely my greatest hunting day ever...I found Elite Mankind at one, and Elite Diesel at the other. AND...Mankind rang up for $9.99. It was glorious. The high I felt nearly ruined me for hunting for the next several months...considering how lean the pickings are here in Canada.
There's a few of my more memorable finds. Please, post yours and see if you can get back that elusive feeling that so rarely happens (at least for me) these days.

I almost crap myself.

A few that come to mind.
Finding Kevin Nash E16, Nexus 2 Packs 9 & 10, Finding Mattel E1 on the shelves for the first time.
Prob my next one will be finding JR BAF Axel, 4 god damn months hunting that figure.

Two for me...
Last Xmas, I found all of E16 at Toyzam 40% off $19.99 each. Grabbed Nash, Punk, Ezekiel, etc...
Mid last year, kmart trip had probably 10 cases of E17 on the shelf. Tons of Mankinds, Kelly Kelly's, etc... Grabbed mankind, Kofi, Ryder, and skipped KK as I didn't collect divas at the time. Now I wish I bought all the KK's and Mankinds and Ryder's there... Forgot to mention... They were $11.99 each!!!!!

Seeing E16 Zeke and looking on the bottom shelf and found Diesel, walking into Target and found a full case of E19.

I work at a Walmart and some times people just return really good figures that we'd never stocked, like a couple days ago a moc B25 Eve just appeared randomly so I bought it, it's how I found my Funkadactyls as well(every other place only had Rock/Cena and Shield).
Sometimes they dump shelfwarmers on us too and that sucks(3 more E26 Henrys magically appeared recently).

Yes, I had multiple of these.
I go into target, and find nothing but the normal shelf warmers. I ask the woman to scan and see if there are any elites in the back. She scanned, and it said in stockroom. She goes back, and pulls out a fresh case of elite 16. Thankfully, this one included kevin Nash. Let's just say, I marked out
Another day I go into target, and see elite 15 on the shelf. Of course it only had mysterio. Then, I leave the aisle and see an elite 15 Yokozuna chilling with spirderman. Again, I marked out.
Yesterday was a really good day as well. I go into target, and find basic 38 shelf warmers. No jericho or Vickie. And I see hhh vs axel 2 pack. I asked the woman to scan for the elites, and no dice. I was really after e28 Wyatt and crush. So I was kinda bored, and cleaned up the wrestling aisle, putting the fallen figs on the shelves. I leave the aisle, and go to the Lego aisle to look for a cousin for a gift. Then, I find an elite 28 bray behind them. Also, it felt as if crush fell from the sky, because there he was on the shelf above. I guess my good karma of cleaning the shelf paid off

Back when Jakks was still going, I'll never forget the feeling each time I spotted a 1/500 on the pegs.
It was like pure joy mixed with eating an entire bag of sour patch kids while chugging a mountain dew
and I found 7 of them at retail over the course of 3 years

I've had plenty of this with other toy lines. For wwe mattel the only one has been finding a Nash on the front of a peg at meijer. Seems like the case was just put out. Had an ear to ear smile. Walked out with him and a couple of steaks for dinner.

I've actually had a good number of these. My favorite is probably when I went to my local Dollar General because for some reason they started carrying Entrance Greats figures well I went there hoping for a new one when I found a legends 3 big van Vader. The same figure that I would have signed by the real guy in Corbin before a PWF wrestling show.

Just happened to see this thread so I'll add my two cents even though I don't collect anymore.
I'm also going to age myself big time here.
I remember walking into an Ames store (yeah, Ames) and found the very first Jakks TTL release of Booker T, Rob Van Dam and the Hurricane. I bought them all.
I also recall going to a KB Toys which was in a local mall right at opening time where I found the entire Jakks R-3 nWo series. I bought them all.

Found a e7 dh smith at a walmart this year. Package was beat up but I collect loose so you know that was awesome. The benefit of having bad stores is that sometimes you can find old stock that nobody wanted. Basic 13 is still at my walmart. I could walk in and buy a basic zeke if I wanted.

It was a jakks moment for me, not knowing about the classic superstars tag teams and just randomly walking down the isle at tru and seeing legion of doom, the rockers and Hart foundation...I immediately was brought back to childhood and it felt exactly like the day I found macho & Andre hasbro's at KB when I was ten years old.

I remember seeing the first boxes of Mattel figures January 2010. I grabbed one of everyone and dropped almost $250 on figures. lol
I had a wicked sinus infection while my wife and I were in Orlando three years ago. I was stumbling through Walgreens and found Basic 5 Hurricane. I literally asked my wife if I was hallucinating. Fortunately I wasn't and I grabbed it!
Years ago I was doing my grocery shopping at Kroger and they had the CM Punk/Luke Gallows battle pack. I remember at the time I was going everywhere to find it (not wanting to spend a TON for it online). I had given up that search for the day when my wife asked me to swing by Kroger.
It's dawning on me know that my wife is the common factor in all three stories...I'm taking her hunting with me more often!

My first figure finding heart skipping moment was finding the King of the Ring set. I had been looking for it everywhere, they even had Brock Lesnar. My Grandparents were great enough to buy the whole set for my birthday. That plastic bag was massive! lol

Australia's hard to get that moment, since they basically get nothing. I'm gonna say Toys R Us when I saw three of the Bearer set on the front pegs. I'm also gonna say ToyWorld when I spotted Elite 16.

I freaked out one day when I randomly stopped by a toys r us and saw Yokozuna sitting on the shelf. That was a figure I was really close to paying eBay prices for and I held it up in the air like baby Simba in the aisle before checking out.
