Hi all, I wanted to sign up and post this here seems as I got the inspiration for it from the many amazing custom rings and arenas on here.
My 2 young nephews are coming to live my myself and my wife for awhile next week so I wanted to get them some new toys and stuff, the little ring they have at our house is pretty battered so I wanted to get them a new one.
After looking at the price of the scaled rings last week and seeing that they seem to be more expensive than when I bought them one a couple of Christmases ago I decided to try and build one, a google image search later and I ended up here looking at the fantastic rings and arenas and decided that was what I would do.
I spent some time researching on here and on Saturday went out and bought all the wood and paint which came to £55, cut it and put the majority of it together in around 3 hours Saturday evening and painted it etc Sunday.
For the turnbuckle pads I just reused the plastic ones from the Mattel ring I already had as are the ropes (yes they were that long they fit on a 22" x22" ring) I simply cut off the turnbuckle covers and screwed some hooks into them which hook on to the eyehole screws on the ring posts.
The whole thing is on a 5ft x 3ft board and the entrance is on a hinge so it folds down so it can just slide under a bed for easy storage.
I'm pleased with the outcome just going to add a few logos etc to the entrance area after work.
