pinterest.com/pin/452259987553560877/?utm_source=android_shareI first bought some Slam City figures on clearance at Big Lots, because the Brock Lesnar figure made me think of a caricature of Crusher Lisowski & Dick The Bruiser. I then bought the Cena/Ziggler two pack, because Ziggler's figure could pass for a silver trunks wearing Buddy Rodgers. In that spirit I decided to build a ring that captured the general feel of rings from TV's golden age of Wrestling. The Turnbuckles are made from white Zip-ties in order to recreate the movement of Turnbuckles from the period. They swayed with the wrestler coming off the ropes. It was magical looking back on it. The nails were used as posts, because no post with a disc top could be deciphered from a nail in Paul Bunyan's toolbox. To see the rest of the photos, just browse the Pinterest board to which the link above is connected. Look closely at the Battle Royal action photo, & you'll see my John Cena figure cornering Colossal Paul(Show), but it's actually meant to be an homage to The Sheik. His character is an American soldier turned Muslim-extremist after suffering financial troubles, which he blames on the incompetence of the American government, & the idiocy of American Christians for inciting the wrath of Ala. He attacks opponents with a steel spike, & always pins his opponents with his body facing East towards Mecca. Enjoy.

Dude that's awesome! Is that a framed canvas for the ring itself?

Dude that's awesome! Is that a framed canvas for the ring itself? Yes, actually. It was originally a burlap canvas, but I removed it & replaced with white poster paper. I chose to switch out canvas for a smooth cardboard in order to eliminate scratching on my figures. Thank you for the compliment.

I also appreciate your appreciation for old school wrestling with the Buddy Rogers comment in your initial post. Brings back memories of watching wrasslin with my grand pappy.

Neat! You don't see too much from the golden era. Usually only 80s and newer.

I consider you lucky to have watched it when it was happening. The best wrestlers impress true students of the craft from any age.

You should have posted your pictures in black and white. You're damn right. Seriously... why the Hell didn't I think of that?
