is this possible? to put a r/a head on a d/a body?
if so how is it done is it just a case of boil the head and pull it off the peg or is there more work involved?

Yes, it'll work.
Get a hair dryer. Using the highest setting, head the whole head around until it has a rubbery feel. Pull the head off of the RA body. While the head is still heated, pop it onto the DA body. If the head won't go onto the DA body, more than likely it needs to be heated up again.
To cool it down, throw it in the freezer for a minute; take out and let 'thaw' for another minute. Then it's done.
