A semi-successful road trip! Followed by some good mail!

As I posted in the Minnesota Figure Findings thread, I went on a trip down to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area this yesterday to see a show. While I was down there, I figured I'd hit a couple Toys R Us stores that were nearby my sister's house in search of the BOPPV set with JR. Somebody told me that the store in Blaine had them, and fortunately, they were partially correct as I was able to snag CM Punk and Del Rio! That was successful enough as I had an extra Paul Heyman 2-pack body so I was able to put together a complete JR without the rest of the body. Still, I went to another TRU (at the Maplewood Mall) to see if they had the other two. Unfortunately, they had nothing - not even any pegs for them. I thought that was odd, so I asked an employee and as it turned out, he was the head of the action figure section. He said he'd have to do some reshuffling to put up space for them again. So, if anybody is in the area, it's possible they will have them in the next week or so once they're ordered.

Anyways, I decided to hit up a couple other stores around town just for the hell of it. Found a full case of Basic 39 at Target in Roseville and picked up Christian. Then I picked up a couple old two-packs (Sin Cara/Cody Rhodes and Batman Rey/Kofi) and a B35 Cody Rhodes to do some fix-ups . I really want to do an Elite version of the Batman Rey.

On the way back, I remembered that there was a TRU Express kinda halfway to home so I stopped by there, and to my surprise, I found BOPPV! They only had 3/4 but I was able to pick up Orton. So, I'm 3/4 of the way to an official JR. Unfortunately, when I opened up Orton, his leg snapped off almost immediately. Disappointing because I really liked the tight design on this Orton and planned to keep it. I might try to swap out the legs but I'm nervous about ruining the tights when I crack it. Either way, I'll have to see about getting a voucher.



When I arrived home, my Summerslam Heritage CM Punk had arrived from RSC. It's a great, great figure. Would it be better in Elite form with color tattoos? Yes, but I like it all the same. I colored in a basic CM Punk tattoos once and was happy with the results, so I'll probably have to do it again.



In the end, I did a few head swaps. First, the BOPPV Punk was given the SSH head and the BITW shirt to make a SS 2011 Punk. I'm not sure where the other Punk head came from originally, but I wasn't a fan of how the BOPPV Punk's eyebrows were painted so I just used a random head on SSH.



And last but not least, here's head swaps with the basic Christian and Cody onto their Elite counterparts. Unfortunately, Christian kinda gets a giraffe neck with this head, but I really like the sculpt so I'll probably just deal with it.
