I was watching the bash 1991 on the wwe network and the 1st match is a scaffold match but not any scaffold match, a scaffold match with a very thin wood support to wrestle on, no support handles or side rails to grab if you fall. Also there was 2 ways to win, throw opponent(s) off or grab flag of opposing team. The teams were Steve Austin and Terrence Taylor vs bobby eaton and pn news. That's the backstory of this thread. Now the discussion part. Was there ever any good or awesome scaffold matches? It seems to me like most scaffold matches involve minimal moves and nothing more. Has anybody got badly injured in these matches? I'm sure it has happened I just wonder who and how bad. Thanks

Scaffold matches were the worst! I never liked one. I always skipped them or fast forwarded them. They do no moves, just a lot of punching, crawling, and then Bobby Eaton falls.

Actually, Ricky Morton vs. Al Snow had a really awesome scaffold match in Smoky Mountain Wrestling back in 1995. That's the only time I can think of one being entertaining. They actually wrestled on it, and I think it was because the scaffold was wider.

The only good scaffold matches are ones on the indies in companies like CZW, PWU and IWA-MS where the match takes place in the ring and there are painters scaffolds on each side or one corner of the ring to bump off of.
The ones in WCW, NWA, ECW and XPW were always bad. Not enough room to actually do anything. Which always made the matches quite the opposite of entertaining.
I'll add the Elevation X match from TNA to the shitty group as well. Even though AJ Styles tried his best to make that good.

i remember douglas vs kidman was perhaps the only time the landing was gigged...which, to be honest, i'm not against the idea of whatsoever.
