I miss King of the Ring. I would love for it to make a comeback.

The thing WWE realized is that they can do the whole thing on normal episodes of Raw so why would they give it an entire PPV. It's most likely not coming back as a separate PPV again

The KOTR tournament was one of the most anticipated events for fans every year and I still don't understand why the WWE got rid of it as not only a PPV event, but a yearly event as well. I've head one excuse is because the last KOTR PPV in 2002 drew bad and was overall panned. Anyone know the exact reasons why the WWE did away with it?
I'd bring the KOTR tournament back as a PPV event. Like during the Attitude Era have qualifying matches throughout the month leading up to it and have the final 8 compete at the event. The winner gets a shot at the WWE Championship at Summerslam. I'd replace the MITB PPV with this event ad move the MITB match back to WM. I'd reorganize the WWE's yearly PPV schedule to the following...
January - Royal Rumble March -WM April - Backlash June - KOTR July - Great American Bash August - SummerSlam September - Unforgiven October - Halloween Havoc November - Survivor Series
This way the WWE still gets to put on 9 PPVs a year and we get more build up time to the major events (RR, WM, KOTR). The months of February, May, an December could have big NXT events to fill the PPV void for the WWE.

They just did a tournament for the #1 Contendership to the IC Title like two months ago... It's the same exact concept as the KOTR just with a different prize and name.

Isnt there something else they used to do for the hardcore title where like 8 people are in the match and it lasts a set time. Anyone can pin anyone and whoever is the last person to have pinned someone is the champ aftet the time limit?

The wrestling minds should be able to come up with a match type. BTW what you're thinking of is the Championship Scramble.

Battle royale is new band aid for any loose ends. It's the new hornswoggle.

I liked the King of the Ring, and love tournaments in general. They eventually watered down the KOR at some point though. At one point you had the entire tournament at the King of the Ring PPV. The winner had to fight 3 times. However, at some point they only had the semifinals and finals at the PPV.
Battle Royals are generally horrible. Way too many people in the ring, difficult to follow, and just a bunch of kicking and stomping until the end. However, you could take 3 rings, 20 guys in each, 3 commentary teams, and that would alleviate most of these problems.
Or maybe not. I always thought that mess was terrible WCW did. Battle royals are fine once you get down to a few guys, but I don't care for them. Love the Royal Rumble though.

I still think just how the Royal Rumble winner gets a Title match at Mania, the KOTR winner should get a title match at SummerSlam. Those matches, as well as the MITB winner gives you 3 chances to move a title around in case something happens such as injury, suspensions or whatever. Plus, it could help build stars. The Rumble helped build Austin. KOTR helped build Lesnar....its just smart booking.

I remember the semis and finals being on the one ppv. Never saw them do the entire tourney in one night. The way TNA and WWE are copying off of eachother, let's just get an ultimate x match.

Why king of the ring isn't a yearly occurrence is mind blowing.

Cesaro, Bo Dallas, Rob Van Dam, Dolph Ziggler and The Miz maybe. Maybe even that Elimination Chase thing that ECW did. Like, it was a Fatal Four Way one week and the guy who got pinned is eliminated, then next week the remaining three guys meet in a Triple Threat. Lastly, the final two could meet in a singles match at the PPV. Just two ideas.
