It's been a good long while since I've added a new Ric Flair figure to my collection..... usually the line to buy these things runs longer than Space Mountain, so for this special figure I pre-ordered directly from Ringside Collectibles!
Since my new favorite Mattel figure just arrived in the mail yesterday - I thought, instead of just another post stating "I got my Flair" I'd offer up a celebration of "The Man", Flair Forever style!
But, before the figure.... a few of my Ric Flair memories.....
Snapped this shot at the 2004 Royal Rumble....
I took this photo in 2004, from the 3rd row at Monday Night Raw.... it was awesome to see The Nature Boy in tag team action with Evolution!
And got this shot from the front row of Monday Night RAW in 2006...... you know, the one where they had Live Sex.....
In 2008 I finally had the privilege to meet my favorite wrestling superstar of all time! Probably THE highlight of my wrestling-fan career!
Now - let's get to the figure, shall we?
Every so often a figure comes out that turns out to be better than the internet photos make it look. Since I had high expectations for this figure - I'm very pleased to report that this figure is even nicer in real life - the photos just don't do it justice!
My two favorite figures of all time! Mattel (L) vs. JAKKS (R)....
Has anyone else posted that the new "Defining Moments" packaging has shrunk a little? Not a big deal - but might be for those who are collecting all the Defining Moments & displaying them MOC....
Finally.... a Mattel Ric Flair joins the rest of my collection! Truly a day to celebrate!
As a final treat - I've recently been experimenting with some video editing software..... the WWE Network has inspired me to create my own Network in my house! I've been going through all my old DVD-recorder footage & digitizing it, then cataloguing it - setting it up so I can stream all my favorite wrestling footage through my ROKU 3..... this, in addition to the WWE Network, gives me nearly complete access to whatever wrestling footage I feel like watching - whenever I feel like it!
I thought it would be fun to gather some of the lesser-seen clips, or ones that I just like, and make my own Ric Flair montage.... it was originally longer, but my software had trouble processing the larger files - so I shortened it and was able to come up with this.... I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it! These aren't the standard Flair moments we always see in the WWE montages - these are some of the moments that I remember & enjoyed, growing up watching the journey of "The Man" called Ric Flair.
