I am currently in the car charging my phone. Power has been out in the whole city since 5PM yesterday after a huge storm.
So?

Since I have a generator, I continue doing what I was doing.
But the first 30 seconds after the power goes out I weep.

I panic... because the power usually goes out during a storm. Our yard gets flooded and we have a sump pump/drain system at our patio to blow the water back to the rear of the yard so it doesn't come all the way to the house and flood my 1st floor. When the power is out, no power to the sump pump. This happened with the prior storm. I have bags of sand on my patio always there at standby for this very reason. So I had to put those along the back of my house, around 20 or so, 50+ pounds each, and do it fast because the water was rising. After that I literally had to shovel the water throwing it as far back as I could. So yeah, I panic. So much fun.

Get some entertainment, grab some hot girls at the beach and add water and then you have a party.

I angrily call LIPA, who have a lawful monopoly over power on Long Island. Then I go through the 5 stages of grief. I was lucky that during hurricane Sandy I didn't lose my power while the people 10 min away from me lost it for a week.

If the storm is over, I'll go out somewhere that still has power. If not, I'll stay home and read until I feel like going to sleep.

We just had a TORNADO in my town right outside of boston. You probably saw it on the world news lol. It was insane trees uprooted and cars flipped debris everywhere from what was local businesses.
Somehow we only lost power for a few minutes. And our cable and internet was restored by the time I woke up from my nap.
Had it not came back I woulda probably tried to follow raw on here with you guys (until my phone died ) and played with my wrestling figs and ASR the whole night LOL. Was actually kinda excited for it.

I angrily call LIPA, who have a lawful monopoly over power on Long Island. Then I go through the 5 stages of grief. I was lucky that during hurricane Sandy I didn't lose my power while the people 10 min away from me lost it for a week. When I lost power due to Sandy, I knew it was going to happen about an hour prior. After I saw what happened to Far Rockaway and the Rockaway Peninsula, I was in holy **** mode. I won't ever forget riding the shuttle buses from Howard Beach to Far Rockaway. When I lost power due to the Northeast Blackout of 2003, I just went on with my business. I listened to 110 WINS, took short walks, cook, eat, and just killed time till power was restored. When I lost power due to Hurricane Sandy, I just used my laptop, copyrighted my photos, listened to music, and just deal with the fact I lost power. During that time, I saw a bunch of intellectually- disabled hipsters learning how to use a payphone. I eventually stood at my uncle's house for three nights. When power was restored to my area, I began to place things back in my room. A few days after both incidents, I acted like nothing happened.
