I have no problem with female Ghostbusters. Someone sarcastically mentioned Tina Fey, but with her type of humor, she would actually fit in really well I think. That being said, Paul Feig is terrible and literally one of the worst choices. The only time I had hope was when Phil Lord and Chris Miller were in talks to write and direct. They could have done something different and great. Too bad...

This is all kind of Bill Murray's fault. He wouldn't come back and do the third film, and then Ramis died. Which put the proverbial nail in the coffin on what we grew up adoring. I do agree we got the game, and the game was brilliant. Still though, had they done a third film in 2004-2005, we wouldn't have to be dealing with this sh*t now. Just leave it alone. Yeah, but Murray only does the finest work offered to him. Like Charlie's Angels.

I've officially filed "Ghostbusters 3" under the "I don't care anymore" category next to the folder titled "Sting to WWE? "

I would have enjoyed a 'Ghostbusters 3: Apatow Edition' honestly.. Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, maybe Donald Glover and Bill Hader. Alot better than anything involving Melissa McCarthy.. For sure. How about...Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Jason Segel, and Rogen? Crap, now I gotta think of a part for Martin Star...hmm...the rookie? This is all kind of Bill Murray's fault. He wouldn't come back and do the third film, and then Ramis died. Which put the proverbial nail in the coffin on what we grew up adoring. I do agree we got the game, and the game was brilliant. Like Charlie's Angels. Garfield tho.

I dont think it should be Ghostbusters III as in a continuation of the first two, however if they did it as a reboot with chicks, Id be ok with it. It will/would probably suck but at least its not attached to the original

don't even want a Ghostbusters sequel or reboot anymore. The original is perfect as is. Would rather have new studio properties

Sony Looking At Bridesmaids Director Paul Feig To Helm Ghostbusters III Posted by Joseph Lee on 08.02.2014 (spam.com) It will focus on female Ghostbusters...
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Sony is currently looking at Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) to direct Ghostbusters III. No formal negotiations have started and there has to be a lot of details worked out before serious talks begin and Feig takes the job. He is currently their first choice for the reboot, which will focus on female Ghostbusters.
Ivan Reitman (1984's Ghotsbusters, 1989's Ghostbusters II) was previously attached but he left the project partially due to the death of Harold Ramis. It was rumored that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (22 Jump Street) would direct but this turned out to be false. The original script was written by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg (The Office, Bad Teacher), and has been revised since Ramis' death on February 24).
The story will introduce new Ghostbusters and may include some of the originals. Dan Aykroyd has said he would come back. Bill Murray has not agreed to return. Read more at www.spam.com/movies/news/330825#78rxSgZ83gLvjFFI.99So I'm in the minority but I was looking forward to a third film IF AND ONLY IF all of the original cast were willing to return. For years, it seemed like the only holdup was Bill Murray. Even after names like Seth Rogen got thrown around, I was still somewhat interested in a third film with the original cast returning to "pass the torch". Now, however, I'm done. With Harold Ramis dead and Ivan Reitman out what's the point? It also seems like Bill Murray is less interested than ever. My lack of interest has NOTHING to do with all female Ghostbusters. I don't care. What I do care about is Egon is dead, Peter won't be appearing and the original director isn't even interested any longer. Please let this movie franchise die with Harold Ramis. They should do another video game or something if they want to take the franchise in a whole new direction. On PS4, it would actually be pretty cool. The last game was very well received. I see no point in doing another movie anymore though. Thoughts? I've come to the conclusion that there's only one man for the job as director & that's ben stiller (tropic thunder shows me he's capable of meshing comedy with action/or in the case of busters..scifi action) I'd hope he wouldn't control casting though & they'd think outside the box for MALE ghostbusters & possibly one FEMALE I'd think Charlie Day from Sunny would work..Ben Stiller could play one...Idris Elba would absolutely have to be attached IMO...female could be Emma Stone as red head or brunette only...Kristen Wiig only in a minor minor role but not a buster...and Josh Gad or Jay Baruchel -- to me, that cast with Stiller directing makes a great ghostbusters film...anything less would be uncivilized - if Charlie day says no..Andy Sandberg boom roasted book it

Emma Stone would be welcome in a new Ghostbusters movie.
Kristen Wiig could play the new Janine.

Ramis passing away killed any potential interest I had/have in a Ghostbusters sequel/remake/whatever. Doubt I'll see it, unless it by some miracle looks like a good stand alone film.

I just hope none of the Bridesmaid actresses are in it. Just cast young female actresses.

All female lineup equals forced PC bullsh*t.....One or two maybe yeah.....not all. it will be a total disaster at the box office if they are indeed an all female cast.

If Eliza Dushku is in it, I may watch it. Because she is badass, and has said she wants to do it.
If not, then I won't. This reeks of absolute pc trash though. I'm not sure what's worse, this or Johnny Storm being a black guy.

All female lineup equals forced PC bullsh*t..... One or two maybe yeah.....not all. it will be a total disaster at the box office if they are indeed an all female cast. That's my big thing is why ALL females? I would like to see one female actually be a member of the team, someone like Aubrey Plaza or Lizzy Caplan I think would be good, and then have the other females be around the Ghostbusters. You want the old cast to be present to avoid direct comparisons, and I would think Akroyd is the easiest to both get and write into the script. So Janine could still be around as the older secretary and I'm sure Annie Potts would do it. Then you have one female lead be a Ghostbuster's girlfriend, so the Sigourney Weaver role, and you've got multiple females to go along with a younger male cast. It really just makes sense that the Ghostbusters would be men. I would compare them to firefighters. Yes, there are some women who are firefighters but it's primarily a male dominated job. I don't know why they think forcing the cast of Bridesmaids into a franchise that people have a passionate following for is a very good idea, primarily because it's a horrible idea. Plus, Heat was one of the most unfunny movies I've seen in the last decade. So that kind of humor. This is just completely unnecessary and it blatantly tries to offend the core Ghostbusters fan base, so 80's babies adult males, before the project even gets off the ground.

If you reacted negatively to the news of a new Ghostbusters yesterday, then this story isn’t going to make you any happier. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Paul Feig spoke about his upcoming take on Ghostbusters, which he said will be a reboot that has nothing to do with the first two films.
On how the idea came about: “I had been contacted by Sony and Ivan a number of months ago when I was in Budapest shooting my new movie Spy. But I was like, I don’t know if I want to take that on because the first two are such classics and just because of how do you do it? Who do you bring in now that Harold’s gone? I know that Bill didn’t want to do it and I love Dan, but it was just like I don’t know how to do it. Then I had lunch with [Sony Pictures co-chairman] Amy Pascal when I got back to town. She was just saying, gosh, nobody wants to do this. I said, yeah, it’s really hard to take that on, especially since it’s 25 years later. how do you come back into a world that’s had these ghosts and all this? It just felt too difficult. How do you do it and not screw it up? But then it was bugging me for the next few days because Ghostbusters is such a great thing and everybody knows it, and it’s such a great world. It’s a shame to just let this thing sit there. I want to see another one. My favorite thing to do is work with funny women. I was like, what if it was an all female cast? If they were all women? Suddenly, my mind kind of exploded: that would be really fun. And then I thought, well, what if we just make it new? It’s not coming into the world that existed before. It’s always hard if the world has gone through this big ghost attack, how do you do it again? I wanted to come into our world where there’s talk of ghosts but they’re not really credible, and so what would happen in our world if this happened today?”
On why he decided to do a reboot: “Yeah. I love origin stories. That’s my favorite thing. I love the first one so much I don’t want to do anything to ruin the memory of that. So it just felt like, let’s just restart it because then we can have new dynamics. I want the technology to be even cooler. I want it to be really scary, and I want it to happen in our world today that hasn’t gone through it so it’s like, oh my God what’s going on?”
You people can bitch all you want about me using this phrase, but they really are raping my childhood....

I don't understand why they're even bothering with this? Because stupid crap like Bridesmaids and The Heat made money. I hate Melissa McCarthy. The whole "look at me Im a fat woman who cusses and does disgusting things" crap is beyond annoying.
