Or a 4 Horsemen box set? Sculpts of Flair, Tully and AA already exist, so Ole would be the only original we'd need. Hell, Luger exists now as well, so you could even have him or Wyndham thrown in there! Make them Elites with Arn, Tully and Ole come with their 4-H jackets and tag belts... Flair could come in a suit with sunglasses and world title?! All should have interchangeable hands as well... one fist and the other with the four fingers extended flashing the "symbol of excellence"! JJ Dillan?! No. They're not going to create an $80-150+ boxset of Ric Flair, Lex Luger and a bunch of guys that nobody cares about packed with accessories and extra hands. Mattel's business model relies on selling many thousands of an item, not just creating fantasy toys for a few dozen older hardcore collectors. Collector fantasy sets very rarely match up with common sense. People cried for an elite ring rerelease for years. We got one, and now everyone says "meh I'll wait until it's on clearance for $30." The mankind figure is like $14 right? Put 5 figures in a box set it costs $70 plus you're selling as a box set so take like $5 off and $65 dollars, and the cool packaging would attract kids! but release it near Christmas so it will sell better. The Mankind figure is a last-resort attempt to get rid of all the already-produced figures from an aborted mailaway promotion. As for "$5 off"... Well the upcoming Toys R Us boxset is $80 for seven basics. So it's more than $11 each. For a five-elite boxset, a realistic price would be about $90.

I would love their to be more box sets. Like the bca ones. It would be cool if they based them on ppv's.

They'd be expensive. 4-pack of basic would be at least $40. It was doable for jacks since figures were on $5 at the time which left 4-packs being a measly $20.

I wouldn't mind the K-Mart Exclusive 3-Packs becoming actual sets, but mostly repaints of other figures. At some point in the future, repaint of nWo Hogan, Hall, and Nash basics. That would sell exceptionally well at $30 I would think.

If there were 4 or 5 figures in the box set it would have to be a very special set for most people to buy. Too much risk there. I could maybe see them doing a 3 pack but even thats a stretch. Maybe nWo Hogan, Hall and Nash (or maybe a diff nwo member since we got nash) or a Hogan or Sting 3 pack with 3 versions of Hogan like Hulk Rules, nWo Hogan and a 3rd figure maybe from his early days or from his recent mania 30 appearance as well as Surfer Sting, American Sting and a 3rd Sting of some kind, maybe nWo red and black Sting. But sets with 4 or 5 figures would just be way too pricey.

I was pretty happy with "The Shield" 3-pack they did last year..... I'd settle for more sets like this! Too bad the K Mart 3 packs are typically a nonsensical combination of shelf warmers - I guess they just lucked out on this one. I always wanted 3MB like this

The cool thing about those box sets was that EVERY retail chain had a different exclusive set. Very seldom were the figures straight repacks but rather repaints, which gives that extra exclusive prestige to the figure. Most of Mattel's "box sets" are straight repacks. Ppv, faction or even ppv heritage would be ideal box sets.hell I'm sure if Mattel and tru went to a four pack boppv basics box set with figures we want instead of the ones clogging shelves now,wed free more room at the toys r us for more of the figures in lines that do sell

I wish they would split the roster in 2 again I think it would be a good way to do a draft edition not to mention freshen the product up.

They are doing Box Sets and they aren't selling. They have a lot of Basic Box Sets, like the Wrestlemania one and the Fan Favorite one. I'd love some Elite Box sets. Charge the same as you do for 5 basics for 3 Elites. nWo Box Set for $50 with Hogan, Hall, Nash. Include cloth nWo shirts, an nWo WCW Title, bandanna and glasses for Hogan, a vest for Hall...I'd buy the out of that.

Everybody sure talks a big game of what they'd buy and what would sell but are ignoring that the high ticket items and things they claim sell well actually don't because they had no support. You can only blame the factors everyone always blames for the Legends Failure so much and then you have to face facts. Flashbacks sell because the psychology of their "limited" chase nature and because they produce fewer numbers. If Cena is packed at three per case for every case and has a production run of (to be simple) 3,000 and random Flashback is one per half the cases, so a run of 500, then John Cena sells better. They know what they are doing with those packouts. Demolition Crush has been reported by many in different states as a dud and shelfwarmer and he was low low packout.
Those box sets worked previously and had new deco and headsculpts because tooling costs were low. And it showed in the figures. Of course the now cheap and silly looking Bone Crunchers could be produced on the cheap and stuffed in box sets with incentivized repaints or the occasional new figure.
Hasbro has a Marvel Legends box set out for All New X-men that has been on shelves since march or so and Toysrus hasn't sold but maybe one. For those who aren't familiar, Hasbro Marvel Legends are currently comparable in scale and articulation to elites (slightly smaller overall and actually usually more poseable although they have no standard tooling). It's just not feasible to expect all but the most hardcore collector to pick these up.
And realistically if one elite set was made with an exclusive figure, it would be scalped to holy hell, likely stolen or switcherooed, and expensive like you couldn't imagine to compensate for how much of a dud the other figures packed in would be, you know it.
Let's use the 4 Horseman set as an example. The exclusive was suggested to be Ole Anderson or Barry Windham. Okay, I assure you the rest of the set would NOT be the four horseman, it would be "Champions" and it would be another Khaki Cena with no shirt or accessories, Elite 18 Rey because it sold so poor, again with no shirt, and elite 22 Big Show, no belt no hat. Calling it now.

I would like them to try an elite 2 pack. I don't know why they don't give it ago. Hell do a kick starter for it, and wait until u get enough pledges before u pull the trigger.
