I hate the super buff guys that work with the big weights and scream like maniacs. Once I was working out and this really jacked guy walks in with these mini shorts on. He walks over to a bench, paces around it for like a minute, sits down, and starts breathing really heavy. After like 5 minutes, he walks over to the dumbbells, grabs 2 100lb dumbbells, and throws them on the floor. He then proceeds to kick the weights over to the bench. He sits down and starts breathing for another 5 minutes, lays down and starts lifting. He does 5 reps and screams at the top of his lungs on each rep. He throws the weights back on the floor, kicks them back over to the rack, puts them away, and leaves. I also don't like the guys who feel the need to come over to you and tell you how to work out. I'm just trying to stay active, you're bodybuilding. I don't need to be following your workout routine. Don't be so austere about it, advice can take you a long way. If you're doing a workout with piercing ease, it's normally that weight is too light or your form is horrid and needs a slight modification. Working out is a gradual learning experience, and to essentially increase the effectiveness of your workouts on a specific muscle group, it's great to try new methods every now and then. I get what you're saying. There have been times when people have given me tips on my form or maybe a thought about a certain workout to try. That's fine. I'm talking about the meatheads that suddenly think they're your new personal trainer and get really intense about what workouts you should be doing. Those guys are annoying.

People who have clue what they're doing. Pisses me off when I see some chubby, skinny or just average weight person walking around the gym and just using machines that all target different parts of the body. I was doing chest one day, and some dickhead had been using the leg and back machines on tiny ass weights and was taking ages on them, I needed to use the chest press machine to finish my workout and halfway through my last set on Dumbell Bench press this dickhead goes over and starts using that. Once again, tiny weights and he takes a heap of time. I ended up just doing another 4 sets of close grip bench press and I was finished before he was. Also people who don't re-rack weights. They're really the only people who annoy me, I don't mind the grunting or weights being dropped as I normally have my music in and more focused on me than others.

Yeah, screw those skinny, chubby, average people trying to workout and using a machine that you wanted to use. I mean, why should those lowly people get to work on on the same machines as someone as super buff and awesome as you, even though they were at the machine first and obviously knew that you had dibs on that machine even though you weren't using it. Stupid chubby, skinny, average idiots don't even know they aren't allowed to work out their whole body and must separate upper and lower otherwise their whole workout is invalid and they might as well be at home eating ice cream like the chubby, skinny, average plebeians they are. Totally with you bro! Read my mind

People that drop their weights to the ground in order to be noticed and people that don't wipe off the equipment/machines after using them.

Why does going to the gym always have to turn into a dick measuring contest?

Would there be a conflict if I informed you that I tend to use that term periodically? It puzzles me as to why general words outside the kettle pot are forbidden. It's refreshing to hear more mentally stimulating terminology than always diluting words.

Those morons that are a few years older than me and try to intimidate me and show off by using ridiculous amounts of weights and then not even getting the job done. Like this one guy walks up to me mocking how much weight I used and stacks up and then only gets 4 or 5 done while screaming like he's getting murdered. Just leave me in peace, I'll do however much I want and you do however much you want. Is that so hard? This exactly. Why does everyone have to lift the same amount of weight? I mean, everyone starts somewhere.

You do realize that the weight isn't what builds muscle, it's the repetition, right? You're right and you're wrong. Yes repetition is one of the main factors in building muscle, if you don't lift constantly you won't build muscle. However what builds the muscle is the weight, when you're lifting you're breaking down your muscles so that they will rebuild stronger. If you're lifting little weight that is easy for you, you will not build any muscle or break down muscle making them rebuild stronger, the absolute most you will do is tone your muscles but chances are it would look crap.

Why does going to the gym always have to turn into a dick measuring contest? Because admitting you're going to an actual dick measuring contest would get you weird looks

So you get pissed off at people who are trying to get fit and healthy?. You get mad at someone using a bit of machinery that wasn't in use technically as you was off it?. Wow, you are selfish. Also, so a person was using "tiny ass weights and taking ages"?. So would a guy who prob just started to workout curl 50 pounds?, bench 100?, leg press 200?, do you even know what their goals are?. No, everyone starts of low and builds their way up. It's more about repetition than the actual weight. I started with 10 pounds weights for a while and worked my way up. Hell, I couldn't care less if people saw me using 10 pound weights. It was something that I was comfortable with. At a gym, it's supposed to be an encouraging and motivating environment and knowing there's someone at a gym that has to see you for 5 days a week, I feel sorry for them. Not every person is going to know what they are doing thus not everyone is a former fitness fanatic/body builder etc. You would be the worst personal trainer ever. Please don't get into that sort of industry dear god.

So I'll be a qualified personal trainer in 2 years. Also, I started working out at 108 pounds now I'm 136 and I've only been working out since the start of the year so I know all about the using tiny weights when you start. However if you're not skinny and you're overweight (like this bloke was) it means you would have more muscle than a 108lb skinny bloke and he was lifting lower weights than I was when I started from what I noticed around the gym.
