Hey guys I just was wondering if anyone has ever just kinda lost a little interest in collecting? I've collected personally every elites since they debut but lately my stores haven't had anything new and money is kinda short these days. So my question is do I sell some of it and just buy the ones I really want? Has anyone had a collection the wish they didn't sell?
I was thinking about keeping one of each person for autographs but really thinking about selling the rest.

I say keep your collection and just continue to buy the ones you really want from this point on.
You never know if you will regain your interest again.

I say put them all up and trying going a few months with out missing it. If you miss it get them back out go buy what you want. Don't miss go make yourself a buck on it then.

I always lose interest when i can't find anything in the stores because it feels like it will always be like this and its boring buying online, but things like seeing new figs makes me happy i collect, but if money is tight i think you should just buy the ones you really want.

If you do sell, and you have tully Blanchard, please pm me.
Back on topic, I'd say collect the ones you really want, especially if money is tight

Definitely keep the figs you really wanted or of your fave wrestlers, you will regret getting rid of them. Shift the others and make a buck.
I find with any collection if you have limits, then its easy to restrict yourself, dip in and out etc. If you collect EVERYTHING then the completist mentality will drive you mad.
Just take time out either way, everyone needs a break

Earlier this year I stopped buying entire sets of Basics and Elites and only started getting the ones I REALLY wanted. I have a bunch of other hobbies, so it was silly of me to try and get EVERYTHING.

Me personally, I wouldn't sell off my collection in order to make money. I only sell when I need space. I started my figure collecting during the Jakks RA and CS days, but once Mattel got the rights to WWE I lost interest in the hobby. I ended up storing away my Jakks figures in large Rubbermade bins and left them in the attic. I then took up other hobbies that peeked my interest and dedicated my time and money on those for quite some time. Once I actually saw Mattel's effort at WWE figures in retail, my interest peeked for figures once again. I ended up selling lots of my Jakks RA (but kept all my CS collection off ebay and on craigslist in order to make room for my new Mattel Elite collection. I'm only a member of two other forums that I'm active in as my other hobbies (bimmerforums.com and AR15.com). Wrestlingfigs is the third and I go through fazes balancing out all three hobbies I love to do. Since May of this year, I've been on a tour de force at collecting/displaying/customizing wrestling figures and it's been such a wonderful experience. Eventually I'll burnout and lose interest in figures once again, but that's what my other two hobbies are for to fall back on...or take a up a whole new hobby. All I know is that I'll always come back to wrestling figures whenever I get the itch.

We all lose some interest in our collecting and hobbies. Me personally, my interest will fade, and some times a year or two later will come back with a fury. Id say hold onto them for a while. If after a few years you still dont find yourself interested... then consider selling. Cause, speaking from first hand, you have a good chance to sorely regret selling things later.

I was there once. Sold off my legends collection a few years back and have been trying to get them back ever since. same here Thats the problem with dipping in and out of hobbies. I had the entire ROH dvd catalogue but sold the lot in 2008. Got back into it in 2010 and went about buying every single DVD again, and have since sold them all . I dont bother with ROH at all now because once I do Ill have the itch to start all over again. If you are going to get out, seriously consider keeping most of your collection and store it away because I guarantee you will have the itch soon enough and end up buying stuff over and over again.

Thanks guys I might do what some of you said and keep my elites and sell off my basics and jakks figs. I just might trying taking a break collecting for awhile see if that helps any.

Just buy the ones you really want for right now and maybe unload a few that you dont want. You can fall a little behind in this line and catch up pretty quickly and maybe even get some deals as well from clearanced stuff.

Don't sell anything. That will most likely be a huge regret.
Just don't buy as much from now on

I decided to sell off a big part of my collection last year when I lost interest in collecting for a little bit. I wish I wouldn't have. I've gotten back every figure that I lost with the exception of a custom Hogan one of my friends made for me. It sucks that figure is gone and it was a bitch getting replacements for all the others I sold.
I would say no, don't sell. At least think about it for a while first.
