2007

Some great matches in 2007. Cena vs Umaga at the Rumble, Undertaker vs Batista several times, Cena vs Lashley and Hardy vs Umaga at The Bash, Hardy vs Triple H at Armageddon. Some great moments too, like Triple H pedigreeing London and Kendrick, and Vince getting his head shaved.

It'll always be the worst year in wrestling history because of what Benoit did, though.

To me 2007 will always be linked to Chris Benoit. I rather not remember that year, and to be honest, I don't remember much great happening that year anyhow.

2007 was a terrible year imo, it was almost like the second 2008 hit, the product instantly got better haha. It started to pick up around Survivor Series but most of 2007 was hot garbage.

The only good things about 2007 to me is

- Batista vs. Taker HIAC at Survivor Series
- Shawn Michaels Return
- Randy Orton winning WWE Title
- Edge winning World Title twice
- Matt Hardy/MVP feud
- Jericho returning


Everything else was either pretty much crap or a word that means crap times 100

- Khali winning World Title
- Hornswoggle as Mr. McMahons son
- Triple H injured at beginning of year
- Shawn injured in middle of year
- Chris Benoit
- London/Kendricks awesome tag title run being ended by Deuce and Domino?
- Edge getting injured
- Batista vs. Khali world title feud
- Kennedy getting injured and forfeiting MITB
- Jeff Hardy busted for drugs
- Half the roster busted and suspended for steroid usage
- Booker T leaving for TNA
- Vince McMahon as ECW Champion
- John Morrison as ECW Champion
- Lashley/McMahons feud
- Cruiserweight Championship retired
- Hornswoggle as final Cruiserweight Champion
- McMahon death angle/exploding limo

Good:
- The series of matches between Batista & The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship
- The return of Y2J the night after Survivor Series
- Randy Orton becoming WWE Champion twice in one night
- HBK vs. John Cena (match from the Raw in England)
- CM Punk winning ECW Championship

Bad:
- Too much too list - the Chris Benoit stuff tops the list though

Egh not a big fan of 2007 as I feel it and 2006 were a step down from the ruthless aggression era.

The good:

- Batista/undertaker: great matches. Everyone of their one on one matchups delivered.

- cena/hbk hour long raw match: I'm not a fan of their wm match but this one more than made up for it.

- mvp/Matt hardy: great miscard feud.

The bad:
- cm punk jobbed out: punk had gained a strong following while on wcw but the wwe decided to have him lose on 3 straight ppvs to John Morrison who wasn't that over on his own. I'm still scratching my head as to why the wwe did this.

The ugly:

-khali: enough said

2007 was a terrible year for wrestling both in and out of the ring.

Pretty sure the term "Super Cena" was born and rightfully so because the guy just trampled everybody he went up against that year. He only lost the title because he got injured.

Way too much Khali in '07.

Obviously the Benoit tragedy trumped everything else that happened and ended up being the defining storyline of pro wrestling that year.

2007 was the year I went to my first Wrestlemania. The bus ride to Detroit took 14 hours and was so damn pleasant it cured my fear of flying as I ended up buying a one-way flight home. I went by myself and just being in the arena looking around it was so surreal to think I finally made it to a Wrestlemania. The show was okay. Of course being there live makes me partial to it, but I know it wasn't one of the better WM's by any stretch of the imagination. Still, very memorable to me.

Smackdown vs Raw 2008 might be my runner-up for worst thing to come out of wrestling in '07. What a f*cking abomination.

To be fair, the entire series of Batista/Undertaker matches in 2007 was great.

Worst year of the Ruthless Aggression Era. When the year kicks off with John Cena jobbing to Kevin Federline, you know its going to be terrible. Other crap that happened was Hornswoggle being Vince McMahon's son, Great Khali winning the World Heavyweight Championship and John Cena's epic WWE Championship reign getting cut short by injury

While edge and taker had a solid feud I've never gone crazy for their in ring work together. I just feel they never had great chemistry working together and there matches were solid at best (even their hiac). I though Batista had far better chemistry with both men in the ring than they had together. I love every Batista/taker match and the Batista/edge matches were very good as well.
