Hey guys,
Thought I'd post this here as I know a lot of you fellas regularly sell your stuff to CEX. I've never done this before but after looking at the prices they offer on their website, I'm considering taking a load of stuff in to make a quick buck!
Anyway my question is, is there a limit to how much you can take in at once? I have loads of stuff that I could sell, such as old WWE DVDs, an iPhone, a Playstation 3... A whole range of stuff that would vary in buying price!
Thanks for any help.

Nope, never a limit. Though I never take in tons at a time because I feel embarrassed doing it for some reason

I work for CEX so thought I'd jump in on this. There's not a limit on how much you can take in per se, but the system we use for the tills only allows up to 250 items in a single transaction so if you've got more than that it will have to be done as two transactions. Not that it would be a problem mind you.

I'm a little bit confused by some of the buying prices on their website as there seems to be items with several different options. For example there's about 4 16GB iPhone 4S on Orange, each with a different buying price. How do I know which is the right price? Just trying to get a figure in my head before I go in store!

For example there's about 4 16GB iPhone 4S on Orange, each with a different buying price. How do I know which is the right price? Just trying to get a figure in my head before I go in store! No worries, with the different phones showing up I assume you mean like iPhone 4S 16GB Orange, C?? Or A/B for that matter. That's the grading system we use for phones. Easiest way to think of it is, an A grade is like new, comes with the original charger and box along with any accessories (including sealed headphones, you'd be surprised how many phones we have in my store that are a B just because they don't have sealed headphones). A B grade means there might be some minor cosmetic marks but nothing too major, also comes with the original charger. C grade is not in the greatest cosmetic condition (usually scratches on the screen make a phone a C for us) or that it comes with a 3rd party charger. There's also 3 different codes for Consoles. Boxed is like new with the original box and all accessories, unboxed is with all accessories but doesn't have the original box and discounted is some marks, scuffs or scratches on the console, irrespective of whether it comes with the original box or not. I tend to go in expecting discounted for consoles and C grade for phones when I'm selling my stuff in my store, that way I'm not disappointed if it works out that way. Another minor thing since I realised you said you were taking a PS3. To take a ps3 we need the usb charging cable for the controller, you'd be surprised at the amount of people who don't bring them in. The hardware stuff will also need to go through a test to make sure the company can offer the 12 month warranty on it. The person serving you will explain that and get you a test time though. Finally, if you don't have an account already, you'll need some ID to set one up. Not sure of the rules in the English stores but I know up here you need to present either a driver's license with your current address. Or failing that a Bank Card/Passport along with a printed proof of address dated within the last 90 days. I'm sure in our training it said it's less in the English stores but it's better to go in over prepared. Any other stuff you want to know just give me a shout.

Brilliant post mate and answered any of the questions I had. Good shout about going in expecting a C grade, at least you sort of know where you stand then. I do have the USB charger for the PS3 yeah, so hopefully it should be okay! Need to have a look and check everything is okay to take in. Is there any info needed for an Xbox 360? I've got one of them knocking about too haha. Thanks a lot man, you've really helped me out.

It's alright, whatever makes a customer's life easier, even if it's not a customer for my particular store. I'd just rather you had all the information. With the 360 it's just the usual cables and controller and stuff, we need the original back for the controller to bring in a 360, sounds stupid but it's because we get a lot of folk in my store bringing us the play and charge kit backs without the cable. If you've ever had it fixed by someone that's not Microsoft they might not be able to take it either since the guy's will need to check out the warranty seal. Broken warranty seal means we can't take it unfortunately, but again they'll explain that in store. Hope you have a pleasant experience buddy.

Doubt I'll bother with the Xbox as I don't think its in the best shape! Planning to pop in next week so hopefully it all goes well!

Whats the best way to send a big package to CEX?
I've got £250 worth of DVDs but I feel a bit risky sending it all.

Is there a difference in price between taking things in or sending them via post?
