Got LOD the other day. They're really cool figures, but I felt like the shoulder pads looked a little "flat" so to speak. Couldn't put my finger on it, then I remembered how CSTT LOD's pads looked. Here's how they fit onto the E30 figures, with E30 gauntlets intact: Notice the really nice laced detail in front on the CSTT pads. Here are the standard ones, which still look good, I just prefer the above combo. E30:

I've been thinking about trying that but I was too lazy to dig out the old Jakks figures. I may have to now. Thanks for the pics.

The Jakks ones definitely look better too me. I knew the Mattel shoulderpads were lacking a bit and this puts it into perspective. Still great figures though, so can't really complain.

The Jakks ones look way better. Are all the Jakks LOD pads the same ones just different colours?

I'm not a huge fan of the Mattel shoulder pads, but I like them the same as the Jakks ones. I actually have mine displayed without the pads since I think the torso choices were really good with these. I can't believe how good they came out.

Animal's torso looks huge! Does a tag belt even fit around his waist?

Animal's torso looks huge! Does a tag belt even fit around his waist? Nope, it's the same torso as Lesnar I think and no belts fit around Lesnar.

The Jakks pads do looks better, though not enough for me to try and get them.

The Jakks pads admittedly do look better and more full, ugh, I hate giving Jakks more credit to something than a Mattel item. In your second set of pictures, which version is that, under "E30"? They don't look the same as the ones on your shelf.

Animal's torso looks huge! Does a tag belt even fit around his waist? The classic tag belts does fit around E30 Animal's waist. Idk if any other belt does.

I like what you did there.
I think the reason that the Matty pads don't look right may be because they were originally with the classic NWA style Road Warrior figures wich were repainted. The original pads were probably less flashy than the ones they used later. Thats just my take on it.

I got my Elite 30 LOD in the mail today and noticed how pale the colors were. The shoulder pads and gauntlets seem kinda wobbly to me compared to the Legends snug fit.
Even with the brighter colors of LOD, I still prefer my old school Legends Road Warriors. Not complaining, as both are amazing in my book!

It kinda bums me out that the larger figures can't fit these sweet belts. My current tag champs are Rowan & Harper, and they're going to drop them to LOD, and only Hawk probably fits the belts.

Yeah. They do look better. Also after comparing them to pics they look more accurate to real life to me.

Oh the trouble to admitting jakks is actually good (at the time). Both companies has their pros and cons. Jakks pads does look better.

Those are great. Way to murder any enthusiasm I had about the new ones.
