This show is kinda perplexing... You can tell Mark Burnett is involved with all the landscape/cityscape views during the show which are very reminiscent of Survivor and The Apprentice... But they in the end really have no bearing or place because you just end up at some abandoned factory outside of town. Then someone on the board mentioned how it is filmed like a Spanish soap opera in many ways. The scenes of Konnan and Dario Cueto and Cuento with Guerrero, I don't even speak Spanish and the language of soap opera translated for me. And just the way the scenes are filmed is very much soap opera.
Ok, I understand that WCW was 15 years ago, and that even then Konnan wasn't exactly in his prime, but man! he got fat and old. Same for Vampiro. Chavo looked good, though.
So do they film everything twice, once in English and once in Spanish? Or is there a lot of dubbing for the Unimas version?

I finished watching the first episode of Lucha Underground. It's unique how they presented the show. One thing they need to fix in the future is to NOT SHOW Vampiro sitting with Matt Striker in the UniMas version if you have Hugo and Vampiro commentate. Anyways, the matches were good. I liked seeing Blue Demon Jr. and Sexy Star wrestle. For being the first time I watch Ricochet/Prince Puma wrestle, I thought he's almost as good as people on the internet make him out to be. Another thing, I refuse to describe this show as "lucha libre". This is basically Wrestling Society X (as someone on the Official Lucha Libre Thread said) mixed with Lucha Libre USA. I disliked seeing Ezekiel come out at the end. I think Ezekiel in a lucha libre show is the equivalence of seeing Reid Flair, Billy Gunn and Stevie Richards on Lucha Libre USA. I've accepted that this show is not the USA version of AAA, but this is not lucha libre to me. I have no problem with John Morrison, Ricochet, Matt Cross being involved in this because I could see them wrestling in lucha libre, but Ezekiel? Anyways, I'll keep watching because it's wrestling and I like seeing some of the AAA guys in this, but I will consider this show as "WSX mixed with Lucha Libre USA"

As long as they keep away from the weird telanovela backstage vignettes, it can be a solid show. I enjoyed the initial episode and will definitely keep watching.
