from PWInsider
Show lineup:
The Usos beat Los Matadores.
AJ beat Alicia Fox.
Dolph Ziggler beat Cesaro to retain the Intercontinental Title. Their match Sunday will now be best two of three falls.
Nikki Bella, Cameron and Summer Rae beat Brie Bella, Naomi and Natalya when Nikki pinned her sister.
Bo Dallas beat Mark Henry.
Dean Ambrose started the show saying he wanted Seth Rollins. He got him at the end. The New Stooges helped Rollins and Ambrose put them both through tables.
Details-
One thing to note is that the entire camera side except for a few rows was tarped off. I've never seen that at a WWE show, a few sections maybe, but not half an arena. The seats that were available were about 90-95% sold out and the crowd was hot throughout. Royals game or not, Wichita loves its WWE. The (older) fans got a kick out of the Johnathan Coachman comment by JBL during Main Event as Coach is from the Kansas area and worked as a local sports anchor in Wichita prior to his time in WWE. No one really knew what to make of that segment though.
Dark Matches:
Prior to Main Event Adrian Neville defeated Heath Slater. Not that this even needs to be said, but Neville is a something special! Even more so in person.
After Main Event (I believe it was) Sami Zayn defeated Titus O'Neil. Clearly WWE is pushing the NXT performers, as they should. Also, I wasn't sure if this was a planned match or not, because they were fixing a glitch (random red dot that looked like a laser pointer) on the main screen throughout it, (is it still called the TitanTron?) replacing individual squares on the screen itself. Swagger and Zeb hadn't even left the ringside area when O'Neil's music hit and had to change course to avoid Titus on the ramp while exiting.
Smackdown:
Dean Ambrose (super over) cut another great promo as did Seth Rollins.
Mizdow defeated Los Matadores (with El Torito) The finish was a cool double Figure 4 with Miz in the ring and Sandow on the floor. Sheamus was on commentary.
AJ Lee defeated Alicia Fox (with Paige) Brief CM Punk chant followed quickly by a louder AJ chant. The fans were into the AJ/Paige, they work hard!
Dolph Ziggler defeated Cesaro to retain the Intercontinental Championship in a great back and forth match. The best of 3 falls announcement got a huge pop from the crowd. The interesting part is that it was Cesaro who made the challenge.
Nikki Bella, Cameron, and Summer Rae defeated Brie, Naomi, Natalya. Nikki then cut a scathing promo while standing over Brie.
Goldust, Stardust, and Bo Dallas defeated The Usos and Mark Henry. Needless to say, Mark Henry intimidates even while walking. I couldn't BOlieve that Bo Dallas overpowered and pinned him.
The last segment had one final "confrontation" between Rollins and Ambrose before Hell In A Cell. These two could very well steal the show even with Ziggler and Cesaro now on the card. The show ended very abruptly, I didn't even the see the announcers leave. I hope that Ambrose putting Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble through tables makes the air. If not, he used Macho Man/CM Punk elbows to do the deeds.
Hopefully, the added details entice viewers who may not have otherwise watched the show to tune in. Everyone was working super hard and put on a great show, despite no Cena, Orton, Big Show, etc. I read so much about people wanting to see the younger guys get a shot, this Smackdown showcased younger guys (and gals), and it was a lot of fun to watch live. Jack Swagger is still very over as well, win or lose. Also, being a taped show, they were pretty liberal on when they would play a promo or video, even during intros that had nothing to do with the superstars being introduced. It'll be interesting to see the order everything ends up.
