Does anyone remember playing this one? It came out around the time GTA San Andreas was released (both Rockstar titles). Just downloaded it from steam and replaying through it. Pretty solid title, especially to play on Halloween.

One of my favorite games EVER. Survival Horror meets the Running Man meets The Warriors, and I loved every second.

Manhunt was fantastic. I remember working at a Sonic Drive In next door to a Movie Gallery back in like 05 and renting it one night after work. I thought it had a great story, and it was a bitch to beat, especially that last level where you have to sneak into the mansion.

Oh man what an awesome game! Very under-appreciated too. I suppose that was a result of the violence and retail exile, but still.
I really hope they revisit/reboot the series at some point. Highly unlikely I'd guess but one can dream.

I never played the first one but i played a bit of the 2nd one. It was alright though i can't imagine it holding up very well. The 2nd one on the Wii would have been a masterpiece of it weren't neutered by insanely overreaching censorship. It was still someway enjoyable but I was really let down by it. I had high hopes too, it was one of the rare games I bought the day it was released.

The uncensored version is available on PC though.

It can be seen on the wii as well, and now that a homebrew will not cause a ban to your account with gaming servers offline.... just saying it can be done-- not going to tell you where or how or what to do or what else happens, since I don't want to bend the rules here. But check into that if you want-- it may be 100% fair for all I know at this point with the wii being offline now... hell if I know, I use it more as a GC with the GC playing gameboy games....
Regardless I did do some reading and it didn't sound too hard, nor did it seem as though it could cause trouble to anyone. I simply never got around to doing it but oddly enough, my main reason was actually to to it in order to play the game uncensored....heh. There's also a fanmade Zelda mod that was hidden or somehow stuffed into a download for a DK game or something like that, but you need a homebrew wii to access it so I heard. I'd have loved that Zelda game on my console itself too.... but anyway, it CAN be played uncensored on the wii now, and there are directions out there but I do believe it requires some of what I have mentioned. I read a bit and decided I was too lazy at that given moment and never got around to it..heh. check it out if you want.
Also, I love the original Manhunt and Manhunt 2 was OK but quirky w/ its controller scheme.... I have Manhunt 1 on my PS3 from the PSN. I also think I had a copy for the original Xbox awhile ago, or had bought one after loaning my PS2 copy out and not getting it back. I don't know if there will ever be a sequel, but I could see something like Rockstar putting out a smaller version or some sort of arcade title maybe... a condensed, short version. Or maybe even a remaster... who knows. I really do believe we will see a lot more remasters of old G6 games, including San Andreas and others which were popular or have some demand. Manhunt does definitely have a demand from its consumer.... similar in a way Bully does, and I know that game will have a pt. 2 at some point.
If you think of all of the hits with sandbox games R! has.... GTA obviously, Max Payne, RDR, Bully (based one feedback being most all positive and the amount of separate exclusive versions for each console, plus the demand for a new one being there still, I guess I view it as one of their name titles)...LA Noire was fun to me and a lot of others. There's that racing game that is pretty popular. So many more too that didn't do much i.e. State of Emergency, for example. But Manhunt has always had a cult following- but it's kind of big for a cult... I wouldn't be shocked either way, but I bet there's a new Manhunt on the new gen. consoles at some point, if even only some lame remake or remaster of #2..... The demand is definitely there from reading online on multiple sites, including this one. Not the first MH thread to be honest, not that I even care, but just solidifying the fact people like it.

the fact they have so many which are popular as they are as is, may push Manhunt to the bottom of the ladder is what I'd meant to put in that part.... my keyboard cut off a bit of what I had typed- sorry!

I always wanted to play this game but never got the chance to for some reason. I hope they make another one for next-gens.
