Out of the 5 Die Hard films in this long esteemed franchise which one would be your favorite if you had to choose out of the 5 and explain why?

1st.
Alan Rickman.
That is all.

3rd because of Jeremy Irons as Hans Gruber's brother but also because of the fact that his villain, Simon Gruber was so much more of a maniacal lunatic than his brother Hans but also because of Samuel L Jackson as Zeus, that is what did it for me

The first for me. I actually really enjoyed the newest film. Live Free was a bit much cgi-wise, but the newest one kind of grounded him and felt more age appropriate with his son taking on a bulk of the action. There isn't too much difference from 1-3 though imo. One is just my favorite but 2 and 3 are equal parts action packed and entertaining. I don't have too many complaints on the series as a whole honestly.

A Good Day to Die Hard, the newest one with John and his son Jack in Russia I actually loved their father/son dynamic

Hans Gruber was a good villain I will grant you that but his brother Simon in the 3rd one was a country mile better

And also the first one had a Christmas theme behind it but also seeing John go at it with the bad guys on his own with no help from no one except Al who wasn't even in the building with him is what I think does it for people

I went with 3 but seeing Carl Winslow blow someone away is always a real treat

I went with 3 but seeing Carl Winslow blow someone away is always a real treat Because of the fact that he said he hadn't killed anyone in a while but seeing McClane go at it with the guy from The Breakfast Club the principal guy in the first one was funny as hell too

I loved the third one. The first was really good too though and I actually liked Live Free or Die Hard as well. Absolutely loathed A Good Day to Die Hard...

Exactly what I am saying the 3rd one was so much more entertaining and seeing Willis and Jackson's chemistry together on screen as McClane and Zeus their back and forth banter was what made the movie more funny but the action was so much more intense

Definitely the first one.
Yippee-kai-yay entered pop culture lexicon because of Die Hard.

I've enjoyed them all (except maybe the last one) but nothing beats the first. Nothing ever will.

I've enjoyed them all (except maybe the last one) but nothing beats the first. Nothing ever will. Die Hard 5 was just another action movie. Die Hard 4 was GREAT IMO and I loved the 1st 3 but yeah nothing tops part one.
