Barbed wire,just take strands of wire,and make little barbs on them.
Kendo sticks can be made by toothpicks,and tape,or you can sculpt them

For the kendo stick, I used an idea that I got from a post here. Get a couple strands of dry spaghetti. Cut 3 to size equally, align them into a pyramid shape, tape the bottom for the hand grip, a little more than 1/4 of the way, then go up a little bit more than half and tape a little strip, then go up to the very top, and tape a little strip around leaving a bit at the top. For cosmetic purposes I also sanded down the top as well to make it more rounded.
Looks good, sounds good. Works well.

Not if you're careful. And if they break while playing -- that's called realism. Take a look at Sandman's canes after he uses it a couple times. They're all broken and stuff. And I mean, come on. Spaghetti and tape. Dirt cheap. If you're that concerned, make a lot of them and keep em in backup.
