Ryback/Cesaro wasn't bad. Regardless, I wanted no part of Ryback/Triple H.

My dad and I were talking last Monday night during the Ryback vs Cesaro match that they just weren't working well together. Something about that match just didnt click. Guess we weren't the only ones thinking that.

I didn't think Ryback vs Cesaro was a bad match. And while I would certainly have watched Triple H vs Ryback I also would rather see both guys do something else. Triple H vs Sting/Batista/Rock & Ryback vs Big Show/Kane/Rusev all sound better to me personally.

These guys can't catch a break if this is true.

wait....I thought Cesaro vs Ryback was one of the best (if not THE best) matches Ryback has had I was thoroughly entertained by it start to finish, I didn't see any sloppiness...maybe I missed something?

Same. I enjoyed it. If they are scrapping the idea of HHH/Ryback there are plenty of good reasons but none that I saw in that match.

Good.
No need for the disaster that would be Ryback/HHH.
I'm still waiting for the HHH vs. Curtis Axel match we were promised...

They shouldn't give up on Ryback just because he had a boring match with boring Cesaro. They shouldn't be booking Ryback to be selling for the likes of Titus and Cesaro in the first place. He should be smashing those guys in three minutes, not doing a boring fifteen. But everything since Hell in a Cell 2012 with The Big Guy has been a waste of time anyway, really. He's probably the biggest victim of their stop-start mentality, but he does himself no favours.

Of course this news comes out right after Punk more or less tears Ryback apart. How convenient.
It's pretty obvious that he's not going much of anywhere. Whether it be because he's reportedly unsafe, or because they just don't give a crap, who knows. I like Ryback, but, it is what it is at this point.

His match versus Rollins on Smackdown was way better imo. Other than the TLC with Hell No versus the Shield, it was the most I've ever enjoyed a Ryback match. I didn't care for the Cesaro match, at all. Ryback vs Triple H would have been horrible. They flirted with the Ryback versus Rusev idea at SvS and I think we'll see that play out at Mania. I don't care about either guy so that's fine with me. Two birds with one piss break as far as I'm concerned. The US Title is probably Ryback's ceiling as it stands. He has to have competitive matches because otherwise the crowd is just going to chant Goldberg at him. If Ryback doesn't make this whole deal work he's going to be done imo.

I do find it funny how the two guys Punk tore into the most were going to have a match and now suddenly they aren't. The match with Cesaro was fine, but nothing special in either a good or a bad way. I can't find a reason that match would be why they nixed it.

I can't find a reason that match would be why they nixed it. That's what I felt. I couldn't find anything in that match to consider negative or that would stop a Ryback/Hunter match. I, personally, can think of reasons why it shouldn't happen at all, but the match isn't one.

i think the bigger picture here is that this "report" is utter bullshit. and just a case of a site trying to create buzz.

Excluding the fact that Titus and Cesaro seem like the two of the few that could take someone like Ryback?

Excluding the fact that Titus and Cesaro seem like the two of the few that could take someone like Ryback? Titus, maybe -- but given his position on the card, he shouldn't be getting the upper hand on Ryback at all. Wrestling is fake, so they get to control what happens. If you're making Ryback the new Goldberg, you don't book him like Bryan, Ziggler, Sheamus etc doing fifteen minutes back and forths to fill time. You book him to murder the lowly guys. Selling for Titus and Cesaro makes him Just Another Guy on the roster, a role that he's not cut out for.
