I would be PISSED if i was Cesaro. The guy was getting over organically, as Austin put it, And they BURIED the living crapout of him for no reason at all. They turned him face, Then turned him heel within WEEKS. Took away the Swing, Which got him a ton of cheers. Paired him with Heyman, Who proceeded to bury him even further by talking about Brock Lesnar everytime he got a mic in his hands. This has NOTHING to do with Cesaro, This has EVERYTHING to do with WWE's extremely piss poor booking and why Vince doesn't see this baffles me.
They tried to bury Bryan for a year and turning him heel during the peak of his popularity. They killed Punk's popularity in 2011 by having him feud with Kevin Nash of all people then getting fed to HHH for no reason whatsoever, THEN on top of that, have him turn heel, while he was neck and neck with Cena in merch sales and popularity JUST to feed him to The Rock. While Cena gets to stay face and shoved down our throats further.
Seriously, Use your imagination and use 2014 WWE booking and "book" the rise of Hogan, Austin, The Rock, Undertaker ETC. Those guys wouldve never had a chance in WWE today.

Vince hasn't lost a step? In my opinion no not at all. He still understands business and psychology. He said something in the podcast that really opened my eyes. Vince will never give us the full thing. He's always going to keep something in his back pocket, because like he said, if he was to give us everything all at once, where do we go from there? I feel like todays wrestling Fan wouldn't be happy, unless raw had sting, brock, ziggler winning, ambrose winning, Cesaro getting a push. cena getting squashed. wyatt winning etc. You can't get everything at once, and I don't think all wrestling fans get that. This is the guy that gave us a grown man in a bunny suit. Hump an other grown man that wears eyeliner. But he hasn't lost touch really.

As stated in previous posts, THIS is the type of programming I love the most. We got to hear a pseudo shoot interview by one of the biggest names/minds in the business. I thought it was well put together, the questions were forward, and Vince was very honest. It was as if Austin had my list of questions and I was well pleased with the entire show!
Some things that jumped out were: - Vince saying the show is not always about the title, and that is because of what he said previously in the podcast that "wrestling was what my father did, I do sports entertainment". We all knew that, but that is why the title seems only a prop in the WWE. However, there was a time when it truly was the main event and the focal point of the show/ppv.
- Austin is an old school guy and I appreciated his openness about it being Pro Wrestling. You can have a twist of entertainment, I get that. But I think Austin's point is that at the end of the day these are wrestlers in a wrestling ring.
- Cesaro was getting over with the swing so if Vince was " out of touch" in any way it was definitely with that part of the interview.
- Interesting talk on Punk, Sting, and Shane! I think he respects Shane for moving on and perhaps Shane had plateaued in his wrestling experience.
- Brock beating the streak...I still feel the streak should have been given to a more committed, long term player, but there was no one in sight to do that.
- Competing against Disney? Ok, I see the point to a certain extent, but IF (and that's a huge IF) he ever had any true sports entertainment competition again (which would take a mega boom period ALA the attitude era) then you would see better story lines and longer matches. The part about living in the days of tweets and vine videos alluding to short attention spans is, in my own opinion, lazy "booking" or "writing".
- my last point is that less is truly more! If you have x amount of Hollywood writers and not just you and Patterson or you and Ross, it's because you have outgrown what made the business work in the first place. I get "business growth" but Austin's point was two men booking with heart and passion matter more than Joe Blow who used to write for day time tv.
Overall, really great television with this special and I hope to see more like this with the likes of Sting, Lesnar, and boy would Hogan and Austin face to face be great!

But Cesaro doesn't have mic skills. I do think Vince was wrong when he said that Cesaro doesn't connect with the audience. WrestleMania and the following weeks proved that people gave a damn and wanted to see him at the top, but Vince wasn't wrong about Cesaro's charisma or lack thereof. I'm afraid with Vince of all people saying this about a wrestler, that it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy. You can't just say that openly about one of your employees in front of the world! People (fans) will now always have that view in the back of their mind and it very may well influence their support for Cesaro. If anything, I will support even more the guy. Im just tired of this thing that people say about guys like Cesaro, Reigns, etc. that they dont have "mic skills" So, what do you want Roman Reigns to take a microphone for? To spill crap out of his mouth like the Rock does every single time he grace us with his presence? (Line stolen from Punk, btw). These guys, (Cesaro and Reigns) as long as they are faces, dont need huge mic skills to be over with people, at least thats what I think. Otherwise, go ahead and ask Mr. Hart (champion X5) one of the greates IMO, if that is a requisite to success. And dont let me start on Chris Benoit (regardless on what hes done with his personal life, the guys was a great technician)

Nope he hasn't, like he said on the podcast, it's a variety show, not everything is for everyone as he has to appeal to ages 5-65 ( Yes 65 my unlce who's 65 still watches wrestling.) Oh and when Vince was considered "On top of his game" We had a clown wrestling, pornstars, and a 80 year old woman giving birth to a hand.

watching/listening to this...might be the first time ever in my 24 year history of watching/following wrestling i didnt feel like Vince was "selling me" i truly felt he was being genuine, honest and real. obviously he skirted some things but i understood why. but it actually felt like a REAL interview, and in todays wrestling thats HARD to find. one thing that annoyed me was the part about Cesaro. vince saying he doesnt have "it" when they...THE WWE were the ones that ed up his momentum. but it was refreshing to hear Austin basically calling Vince out on it in the perfect way...Austin says "i just started to like the guy because he was good"...not everyone needs a catchphrase or a 30 minute promo of the gods....sometimes fans will like a guy because he's just....GOOD.

I disagree with him whole heartedly in his belief that guys like Lesnar and Sting should be "special attractions" and that using them too often would make them seem less special. I think it does the opposite. Instead of making THEM seem special, it makes the shows WITHOUT THEM get exposed for how weak those shows really are. And for him to sit there and justify not having the WWE Champion on regular WWE programming is deplorable. He actually sat there and said "it's not about the title".....so he completely devalued the WWE Title by trying to insinuate that WWE programming was just as meaningful WITH or WITHOUT the WWE Title. Like Austin said, in his day, whoever had the power had the belt and whoever had the belt had the power, it was as simple as that. If you had that belt, it meant you were the top guy, the top draw, and you lead the charge and set the tone as the face of the company. Now, Vince McMahon expects people to pay top dollar for events, PPV's, Network subscriptions, and to sit through hours and hours of television without a WWE Champion? What exactly are these guys fighting for? Like has always been said by guys like Austin, if you aren't here to be WWE Champion, you should quit and go do something else. They've got Rollins running around with this briefcase that he can't cash in....it's so pointless. I'll never talk sh*t about a John Cena title run again....at least that man is there every week, wrestling every week, and he's a work horse. Punk was a work horse. Randy Orton was a work horse. Brock Lesnar just isn't even there. And it's not Brock's fault. WWE knew damn well what his contract situation was and they put the belt on him anyway. And now with this "you can cancel WWE Network at anytime!" situation....people are just going to subscribe for PPV's that have title matches or part timers wrestling, and then they will cancel until another show peaks their interest. They need a WWE Champion who is going to be on the show every week and on every PPV to get people to subscribe to see PPV's like TLC. Vince seems not to think so, but one man being there really CAN make a difference. Besides Sting and Dolph Ziggler's incredible performance...how BAD would Survivor Series have been? But Ziggler and Sting made that a PPV that at the end of the day, was actually worth watching. If not for Sting and Ziggler, before that main event, people were calling it once of the worst booked and most sloppy PPV's of all time. But Vince McMahon apparently thinks if he gives us good TV too often that we will get spoiled and it will become less special. Tell that to guys like Austin, Rock, Undertaker, Foley, and Triple H who busted their ass wrestling at every show, house shows, bleeding every week and having Title matches on free TV for years. It's what won him the Monday Night War. Vince McMahon actually claims that he has MORE competition NOW than he did when WCW and ECW were around because now he competes with EVERYTHING on TV and EVERYTHING on the internet. So wouldn't that mean he should do his very best to put on the best possible shows? To me, WWE PPV's without WWE Title matches is the most idiotic thing EVER. The Title is as unimportant now than at any point it has ever been in the history of WWE. The Title meant more when Miz was Champion. At least MIz was there, Miz was wrestling, he defended it on RAW, he defended on every PPV. This whole idea to have Brock Lesnar be a special attraction in an attempt to drum up ratings and subscriptions is useless if he's not there. But like I said, WWE knew exactly what was going to happen when they signed him to this contract. I can't wait until Brock Lesnar is no longer WWE Champion. Nothing against Brock, I think he's a great wrestler, but I as a paying fan and a WWE Network subscriber deserve to see the WWE Champion more than once every 4 months. Simple as that. I was more than happy to have guys like Brock, Taker, Triple H, Rock, Jericho, and others come and go as they please....because in a way it does keep them fresh....but not when the WWE Title is concerned. If you are the Champ, you need to be there. Vince saying that it would not be special and that it's "not about the Title" is just foolish and he's trying to justify the bad situation that he created. OMFG one of the greatest posts i have ever read in my 7 1/2 years on this board. this is the absolute PERFECT explanation of the entire brock/title situation. its perfectly executed. i needed to read it again to digest how ing perfect this is.

NOBODY HAS "IT" besides John Cena it's the way the COMPANY books/uses them I can't explain my point properly because all you and half this board reads is "Cesaro is amazing and should be WWE champion for 50000 days" so you gotta respond with "CesarosucksLoL" Please Cesaro haters please read and simply understand the below. Scott Keith- (when asked about the "brass ring" question from the podcast "I think in a more general sense that there's no "brass ring" to grab anymore. The system is specifically engineered to make the brand a bigger deal than the individual guys, and the 50/50 booking means that even if you start to get over as a big deal (Dean Ambrose) you're just going to be used to attempt to make someone else a big deal as well (Bray Wyatt). And then neither person is a big deal. This is decidedly the WCW booking philosophy and part of what killed the product for them. The only exception is Roman Reigns, where they've already decided in advance that he's going to be The Guy and so none of the rules apply to him and he gets to bypass all the same criticisms thrown at Cesaro (can't talk, doesn't connect with the fans). So then they don't bother to make anyone else and if Reigns gets injured, we get four god-awful boring months of bullcraplike we're stuck in now. Oh, and you also get shows like Hell in a Cell, which did 20,000 buys. That's TNA numbers. And if their plan to have Brock turn Reigns into the big star at Wrestlemania doesn't work, then what? Cena v. Orton again? "

Edit: You seem to label anybody who doesn't think he should be a main eventer a "hater." That's completely idiotic. I love Cesaro, he's a fantastic in-ring talent, but he has ZERO charisma, ZERO personality and LACKS the "IT" factor that most guys who make it to the top have. Cesaro is a fantastic mid-card wrestler.

NOBODY HAS "IT" besides John Cena it's the way the COMPANY books/uses them False. A bunch of people on the roster have "it" and almost everyone there has more "it" than Cesaro. He's very clearly not a main event caliber talent, but he can have a very good match with a main event talent.

Cesaro's lack of a push has everything to do with Cesaro's lack of personality and charisma. His lack of push is a result of him getting over when he wasn't meant to and WWE shut him down. Not quite. He was over for two weeks, those two weeks being Wrestlemania and the Raw after. He has never gotten a big reaction besides that. He's had plenty of chances to show personality and charisma on every single RAW and Smackdown appearance, he has never done so. Cesaro's lack of a push is simply because he lacks that "it" factor.

LOL, it's pretty obvious that you weren't paying any attention. He gets a pop when he does the move, okay sure. How's his reaction when he enters? When he ISN'T doing that move? Silent, low pop at best. He isn't over, the spot is over. Simple concept, no?
