why do i have to boil a figure after painting it and why do i have to wash the figure before painting it and i got epoxie putty is that alright to use

You don't boil a figure after painting it..
You should wash it before painting to remove any residue on the plastic.
Epoxy Putty is fine to use, but you have limited working time.

dabomb -- Boil a figure after you've painted it? Where have you heard that? Don't do any such thing. Washing the figure is a good idea. The toy companies use a type of 'grease' for mold release...and sometimes it can still be on the figure, and can keep your paint from sticking on there. Epoxy putty is ok. It won't have much working time (10, 15, 20 minutes), so if you're not hot on sculpting yet, I would get something else. But if you're ok, then it should be....ok. Just make sure that you read the labels first. Some can have a foul smell and some require air flow. Make sure you follow the rules/instructions on that stuff. Edited: Man.
