though it sounds odd those twisty ties that come with figures work very well I used them to fix up my RSR with no problems

I'm not sure what you're talking about exactly, but you can get some pretty realistic looking stuff at any hardware store. Just browse around, you'll find something you want I'm sure.

more often than not, the hooks people use for custom rings are just J screws. You can get them at any hardware store, or Walmart. Usually about $1 for 20 or so. They are really cheap, but sturdy as heck.

Those hooks are called screw hooks. It's best to use the smallest one you can find, as the big ones look like crap. Instead of using just screw hooks, I used a combination of screw hooks, screw eyes and a small piece of dowel to make my turnbuckles/corners look like a real wrestling ring. Instead of the rope going under the hook, the rope goes through a screw eye. < Click to enlarge. I bought a 50 piece variety pack of screw eyes & hooks at Home Depot for a couple of bucks. It was called OOK SCREW EYES - Assorted Screw Eyes Kit, and it was in a clear package with light blue and yellow paper insert.
