Take Khali off. I only like that one because if the impressive size and excellent scan. Put DM Ric Flair in it's place. Tell you what. Since they are so different, why don't we have an elite and basic best of thread. Too often the basics get glossed over on these lists because the elites are so very deluxe.

I'm just saying my top favorites, versus which I think are the actual best. Some crossover but not necessarily I guess:
WMXXX HBK - Mattel's perfect Shawn Michaels. Full entrance gear, perfect scan, and his sweet DX deco. Absolutely perfect imo.
Elite 28 Bray Wyatt - Only knock is the lack of detail on the boots that was on the prototype but didn't make it to final. Other than that, absolutely prefect. Hat, shirt, and we got the lantern and chair to go with in filling out the rest of the Wyatt Family.
Basic 44 Seth Rollins - The head scan is perfect with the hair down and the half smirk. After being happy, but not floored, with the Rollins selection so far, this one finally delivered nailed it for me.
T-shirt series Dolph Ziggler - Just a great shirt and the good head scan. Throw on the IC Title and it's a gem imo.
E30 Hawk & Animal - The versions of LOD I wanted from the start. I think they turned out damn near exactly how I imagined.
DMs Ric Flair - WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Amazon 96 Mankind - I had the BCA figure of this when I was a kid and it was one of my favorite figures. So throw in hair chunks and you've got me hard on the nostalgia factor. Really, really, great figure in terms of execution and my actual love for it.
The New Age Outlaws - My favorite tag team ever. I thought it was nice they came with the multiple shirts, and headbands in BABG's case and the only thing I felt I needed to do with them was add elbow pads to Road Dogg and the Classic Tag Titles, which was no issue. Love them.
Probably something I forgot since I'm not sitting in front of my collection but these were the figures that came to mind.

No order:
E30 LOD: Love both of them the bodies, arms, legs, headscans,.. everything looks perfect! E30 Ryback: To me it's the best Ryback headscan and I love the vest. E30 Batista: Awesome detailed tattoos, but the headscan could've been better.. E30 is an awesome set. E29 Luke Harper: Pretty much the same as LOD, love it. WM30 HBK: Great fig, probably one of the Best mattel Michaels. Defining moments Ric Flair: What a great figure, headscan looks fantastic and the cloth robe is amazing! E28 Bray Wyatt: I have it, pretty cool figure. E33 Roman Reigns: One of the best of the year, totally love that headscan, to me, it's the best Reigns's headscan. E31 Vader: Really love that figure it looks, perfect to me. E33 Junkyard Dog: To me, the headscan and everything else looks perfect! The flashback is really well done!

I thought this sounds like a good idea, but after sitting down and thinking about it I've found it really hard pick 10 and put them in an order. But after hours of changing my mind here is my top 10 figures of 2014!
#10 - Fandango, Elite 27 (his attire and head scan are perfect) #9 - Goldust, Elite 29 (he looks exactly like he should) #8 - The Uso, Elite 31 (they look perfect. everything about them is perfect. They had to appear on the list) #7 - The Undertaker - Elite 27 (a beautiful figure with an amazing jacket) #6 - Luke Harper - Elite 29 (An amazing looking figure) #5 - Rikishi - Elite 27 (Amazing!) #4 - Brock Lesnar - Elite 30 (Everything about this figure was fantastic. His attire and head scan are spot on) #3 - Batista - Elite 30 (just for the insane tattoos he has, they are amazing. The best I think I have seen) #2 - Bray Wyatt - Elite 28 (this figure was everything it should have been and more) GREAT JOB from MATTEL #1 - Zeb Coulter - Basic 37 (I have to give this figure the No.1 spot, everything about it is just fantastic)
That's my count down although I must give an mention to some that are great but just didn't make the list, Basic 38 Drew McIntyre, Elite 30 LOD, Elite 26 Road Dogg and defining moments Ric Flair all beautiful looking figures.

I based my top 10 on figures I have actually seen up close. Otherwise, the Target exclusive Rocky would probably be on the list. I'm sure my list will be different tomorrow. Ryback is my controversial pick simply because I can't believe I bought a Ryback figure - its a great figure though. Aside from LOD & Ryback, I have doubles of all the figures on my top 10. (I mostly collect MOC and rarely purchase doubles)
10.Ryback Elite 30 9. Fandango Elite 27 8. Legion of Doom Elite 30 7. Billy Gunn Elite 27 & Road Dogg Elite 26 6. Bret Hart Wrestlemania 30 Elite 5. Brock Lesnar 21-1 TRU Exlcusive 4. Ultimate Warrior Elite 26 3. Mankind - Amazon Exclusive 2. Bray Wyatt Elite 28 1. Ric Flair Defining Moments
Honorable Mentions: Goldust E29, El Tortio B42, CM Punk SS Heritage, Usos & Vader E31

1-2.) The Usos, E31 - I hadn't watched the WWE in years and only intended to pick up WMXXX Hart and HBK during Wal-Mart's pre Black Friday sale. Then I saw the Usos. I had no idea who they were, but 30 minutes after leaving the store, I went back to pick them up. They opened the floodgate. I now have 30+ WWE figures and a WWE Network subscription. 3-4.) The LOD, E30 - Hawk and Animal, along with the Usos, showed me just how outdated my perception of wrestling figures had become. The likenesses just blew me away. 5.) Batista, E30 - You've got to be kidding me with those tattoos. This isn't a toy. It's a F'n work of art. 6-7.) Rowan & Harper, E29 - Again, I was just amazed by the likenesses and overall quality. They've really won me over as performers as well. 8.) Undertaker, E27 - I don't own the figure (yet), and I've never really been all that into the Undertaker, but he looks impressive as hell in the packaging. 9-10.) Bret Hart & Shawn Michaels, WMXXX - The Usos opened the floodgate, but Hart & HBK were the gateway. Both are great representations of two of my all-time favorite performers. There are some figures that probably should have been on this list like Flair and Mankind, but I haven't seen either of them in person. Yet.

what was the first elite series os the 2014? 25. When did Mattel get the extension? I think I remember seeing something about their new contract getting is somewhere past Elite 50. Which, if that's right, that'll be up after the start of 2017 sometime. I think I'm wrong though

Which, if that's right, that'll be up after the start of 2017 sometime. I think I'm wrong though The original five year deal would have ended nowish, so the extension (assuming it's another five year deal) will be Jan 1 2015 to Dec 31 2019. No way of knowing how many series that will be, as they've changed the number of elite sets per year. 2010: Elite 1-6. 2011: Elite 7-11. 2012: Elite 12-17. 2013: Elite 18-24. 2014: Elite 25-31. If it stays at seven sets per year now, that'd mean... 2015: Elite 32-38. 2016: Elite 39-45. 2017: Elite 46-52. So we'd be way past fifty by the time the new contract ends.

I hope it goes way past 50. I'm loving the elite line and the more sets they make, the wider range if figures we'll get. I just got my JYD and its awesome to get a new figure like that. Especially with the new HOF line, if successful, will open the doors to some excellent new figures. *side note - is E32 2015? because it's been out for a few weeks.
