Source: Lords Of Pain- A vignette aired at tonight's WWE SmackDown tapings for the main roster debut of The Ascension. The vignette aired at the start of Tyson Kidd and Cesaro vs. #1 contenders The Usos. It's possible that The Ascension finishes up in NXT after Thursday's match against Hideo Itami and Finn Balor at Takeover: R Evolution. The Ascension made a main roster appearance earlier this year on the September 9th episode of WWE Main Event, defeating Los Matadores.

Yeah. I hate that these NXT guys are working Main Event shows. Dark matches, I get... but these guys are supposed to be getting brought up to the main roster.

Yeah. I hate that these NXT guys are working Main Event shows. Dark matches, I get... but these guys are supposed to be getting brought up to the main roster. WWE Logic. They apparently must believe everyone watches NXT just take a look at Charlotte on Raw last night 50% or maybe even more probably didn't even know who she even was. |

For me, it's a love-hate relationship for every NXT tag team/superstar debut to the main roster.. One part of me is saying "Yay. Good for them." and the other part of me is saying "F*ck you. Leave them in NXT. NXT 4 LYFE."

Ugh.
On one hand, I'm glad I won't have to see them on NXT again.
On the other hand, I'm upset that I'll have to see them on the main shows.

At least with that match it was to advertise the NXT Special that week. I'm fine with NXT making main show appearances in order to build interest to their events, but I agree in general that they shouldn't work regular shows if not being called up. |

wwe is really lacking in tag teams and I hope it works out for them. met them both over a half dozen times at nxt house shows and konnor is a real cool guy

The same thing happened with the SD taping 2 weeks ago here in Ft. Wayne. Zayn came out for his match, and at least 50% of the audience (especially kids, you know, WWE's target audience) were chanting "We. Don't. Know. You." Super rude, but also not shocking. |

I guess I'm the only one here who has no idea who the Ascension are. You're not missing out. Two guys from NXT that aren't very special. Konnor has been in development for like 16 years. There's a reason. |

i think they'll flop on the main roster since they are just dreadful on the mic and that is exclusively WWE's fault. They decided they wanted every wrestler to be a strong promo and killed off the manager, then stopped developing people as promo guys. Put a dark, brooding character as their mouthpiece and you've got money. Someone originally suggested Rob Naylor as their mouthpiece and I'm 100% behind that. Naylor can talk and has a look to him, and is also VERY short so he'd make The Ascension look even bigger than they are. But alas, WWE got rid of Naylor and go forward with the Ascension on their own. Then when they flop, they'll get released and no one will have learned anything. |

Good for them. I'll judge them being brought up when they debut. I'm not a big fan of them on NXT, but I'll give them a chance on the main roster. I'd much rather had Kalisto being called up to team with Sin Cara.
