Has anyone here ever gotten them pulled? I found out today that I have to have all four pulled at once, along with a tooth that I had a root canal on a few years ago which is now infected. I know that getting them pulled affects people differently, with some being fine and some others vomiting and barely being able to anything for the next few days.

The best part is when it's over and the anaesthesia hasn't quite worn off yet. When my cousin had his out, he said some of the strangest stuff. In all seriousness, it can only help you. It might be rough at first, but you'll get used to it.

From my experience it wasn't that big of a deal. Only the ones on the bottom hurt, but in fairness I got them taken out on separate occasions (one on the bottom then the remaining three a couple of months later) so I'd have to imagine having them all taken out at the same time would be much more uncomfortable. You won't be able to talk (well) and eating is an inconvenience, but apart from that there was nothing debilitating. Take a few days off work or school and you should be fine.

I got lucky that mine came in straight. Now will they need pulled because they're impossible to keep clean? Maybe. But as of now I lucked out there. I've heard good and bad experiences from it though. Best of luck bro.

I had all 4 removed at once. They were impacted. It sucked ass.
Worst part for me was the constant bleeding for hours. I came home high as a kite from the meds, passed out and woke up a couple hours later with a blood soaked pillow. I had a horrible experience. However, I know some people who have had their removed and had very little issues post-surgery.

I got all 4 of mine pulled. I had no problem with it. I was really high on the laughing gas so I was out of it. its really no big deal. I didn't feel a thing at all until the gas wears off a bit. you'll be sore though. make sure you take a couple days to relax from it. that's what they told me and I had to take time off from work for it

I'm taking the day off for the removal and then I have the next two days off anyway so I should be alright.

I got mine pulled earlier this year. Fortunately I didn't have any upper wisdom teeth so I only had to have 2 removed. The operation wasn't as bad as I imagined, the meds worked well. It's quite uncomfortable but nothing overly dramatic. The worst part is afterwards when the anaesthesia stops. Eating and drinking hurts like hell and just doing nothing isn't very comfortable either. But once you get the threads removed a week later everything is fine. Just think of it as going through a week of crap so that you can enjoy the rest of your life without any wisdom-teeth-troubles.

I had mine removed about 4 years ago. It was pretty painless for me, but I have friends who went through hell. They sent me home with some Vicodin that I tried and hated, so I just pumped ibuprofen for a few days. I was able to eat somewhat normally within 48 hours or so, and within a few days I was pretty much totally back to normal. I had stitches that come out on their own, so no need to go back up for a follow up or anything.
My best friend had side effects for upwards of two years after having them removed, and I've heard many stories of people who had the same issues with this particular doctor. We have two doctors that handle the procedure in my area, my dentist highly recommended one while many of my friends went to the other. Everyone who saw the other doctor had issues.

I had mine pulled without being put to sleep, just needles to numb the mouth. It's pretty physical, the dentist was pulling and prying. It felt like he was twisting my neck off. At one point a piece of tooth flew out of my mouth and bounced of the wall.
My teeth were hard to get out, though. I felt like crap for 2 or 3 days. My brother had an easier time and felt better later that night. Good Luck.

I chipped a bit out of my bottom tooth, well cracked it then pulled it out myself. thats as far as my "dental treatment" goes, never had any problems. My brother had had a load of teeth pulled out he's usually sleepy for a while after.

I had all 4 done. Couldn't move much, for a week; had to make sure no dry socket happened. I had an allergic reaction to the hydrocodone (scratching my skin non stop), but other meds helped. Some pain, I remember, but not being able to sleep on my side for a week sucked;just slept in a chair for a week. A lot of smoothies and soft food, but after the week, no issues. Braces on the other hand.....grrr.

I'd actually recommend it since it's cheaper and to my understanding makes the operation faster. Plus you get to watch someone put a saw in your mouth.

Had mine cut out a little over a year ago(all 4 were impacted)..the worst part was the anticipation. I remember asking if the iv sedation was working then the next thing i remember the dr was talking to me saying "one more stitch and your done". stopped bleeding right there and had barely any swelling after. had em out on a friday morning and had no pain until monday but it was no big deal, everybody is different tho.

For some reason I never developed wisdom teeth. It's always a surprise when a new dentist looks at my x-rays.
I was born with a crooked ribcage though so it evens out.
